Why is Christianity in britain so damn pussified and nihilistic? I know it seems a contradiction, that a faith is nihilistic, but seriously go talk to any run of the mill protestant and try to bring up 'heavy' issues with them.

My ex-gf was a christian but she was so fucking liberal-nihilist it was insane. Pretty much every discussion we had about politics (from immigration to welfare to punishment for offenders to fucking school meals) would boil down to her saying something like "well, it doesn't matter in the end anyway, we're all going to heaven". How can they have so little invested in this world? But more importantly, how can they continue to impose their nihilism onto those who don't have such metaphysical certainties. In my opinion this is the only world I'll ever know, so I don't see why I should put up with these fucks saying that we need to let in every shade of brown immigrant because "countries and borders mean nothing in the afterlife"! Fuck sake it makes me so mad. Christianity used to be based.
