Major food corps have conditioned Americans into adopting disgusting eating habits and believing they're normal: desserts for snacks, milkshakes instead of coffee, giant chip bags, soda like it's water, all on top of eating three times the recommended serving size. They've accomplished this through advertisements, especially targeting young children. Kids already love sugar but if you hook them on the stuff by age 3 they're screwed. What's more is that sugar addiction is a genuine phenomenon. No, nobody has ever sucked dick for chocolate, but sugar releases endorphins in the brain and people easily crave the rush. The more sugar you eat, the more you crave, especially if you've built up a tolerance at a young age. Not to mention that empty carbs are likely to have you feeling hungry faster after eating. That's why fat people are always fucking eating, and why the superobese whine so much if they haven't snacked for two hours. They genuinely feel like they're starving, and their brains are so fucked up from the constant endorphin rushes that it feels like they're withdrawing from drugs as well.
That's not to say it's impossible to lose weight. It's just becoming more difficult for each generation when they adopt these shitty eating habits because their favorite cartoon character from when they were 2 told them to.
The vast majority of Americans don't have the discipline to recondition themselves to eat normally. This isn't a problem if they're not conditioned by the sugar industries in the first place. There were plenty of indulgent dumbasses throughout American history who never got fat.
