Despite this being an anonymous board that prides itself on this fact - there are people amongst us who believe themselves to be particularly special and above all others here. They believe that their posts and opinions are more highly valued and more important than the contributions of others - these people are known as tripfags.

They are a rotten pustulent cancer that has destroyed this board - along with their allies: The Karenposters and the miscellaneous food item posters - they have worked tirelessly to derail all forms of rational discussion in favour of their rampant egomania. Their almost unquenchable narcissism has derailed countless discussion and caused a great rift between the formerly united posters of Brit/pol/.
The Tripcunt is immunized against all dangers: one may call him a narcissist, egomaniac, arsehole, attention seeker, it all runs off him like water off a raincoat. But tell people to filter his tripcode and you will be astonished at how he recoils, how injured he is, how he suddenly shrinks back: “I’ve been found out.”
You can stop tripfags by simply not responding to them ever. You can hide and filter tripcodes by going to the [SETTINGS] link at the bottom of the page and adding their tripcode to the FILTER option. BE SURE TO HIDE POST STUBS.

This will improve your experience here tenfold - as it has done mine.
TRIPCODES TO ADD TO THE FILTER LIST!

Answer my question first - is that nation still England?

>>134578209

>Except civic nationalism doesn't allow for that

Yes it does - there is nothing to stop these people from out-breeding us when they are in the country.

Even before Labour opened the doors to mass migration in 1997 we were still being replaced - slightly more slowly, granted, but replaced nonetheless. Thatcher and previous Conservative (and, arguably, Labour) governments had been running defacto civic nationalist platforms for decades and we were still being replaced.

Even Cameron's government was, perversely, a civic nationalist approach in part, too. The emphasis on "British Values" - no matter how wrong they were, was an attempt to foster a civic identity and force it on people before passing their citizenship tests - exporting a 'tolerant' view of the world as the superior way of viewing the 21st Century. It didn't work.

You cannot have a 'civic' identity on a macro level that is wholly detached from blood and soil. The two are inalienable from one another. No matter how hard you try, you will never have an African child appreciate the sacrifice at the Somme, or the effects of the Boer War - it isn't their history. It wasn't their relatives fighting this war , their family didn't die - you cannot even make the believable case for it to be so - which is what has helped European migration integrate in centuries' past.

With a German migrant who has been here for 3 generations - it is believable that they played a part in this country's history - because they look like us. They won't know the exact details of their past - especially in centuries where records aren't kept - so they can believe to be a part of it. It will matter to them. The very appearance of an African, or Asian, or Oriental immediately marks them out as foreign and noncontributory to this nation's history - and with it flushes away any notion of shared struggle.

>religion =/= ethnicity

Lad...

I've become disillusioned with the Catholic Church tbqh, I recognise that I am a Christian (that itself was quite the battle) but I don't feel like the Church is something I can fully be a part of. I respect the doctrine and teachings, love the art and adore the architecture, I don't think I'll ever give up that part of it.

The move to Irish Anglicanism feels right at the current moment in time. No Popery and all that tbqh.

That is true but completely unconstitutional. Our entire system is centered on the monarch holding Royal Prerogative, Royal Assent, Dismissal and Appointment powers. the left likes to employ tactical nihilism and tries to get bogged down in the details like "well at what exact percentage of non-whites does it become 'not england' any more?" but the fact remains the same: if the population of england was replaced by some kind of african strain then it wouldn't be england beyond a semantic definition

Our history teacher in high school told us that lionheart was a homosexual. No sources to back that up though. Fun stories that people told during the crusades about him:
>he was so strong that he once hacked through a camel's neck decapitating the animal in one hit
>once he swang his two handed axe so hard at a muslim foe that he cutted him through and through, leaving him in two symmetrical half pieces, while he had also raised his sword in defence.
Both these anecdotes were for the siege of Acre if I am not mistaken

The last monarch to do that was Victoria lad.

And in 1999 she refused to allow Parliament to discuss a Bill that would give them authorisation to use Her Armed Forces in Iraq with her permission.

I don't know where you're getting your sources from, but that wasn't Royal Assent. The last Royal Assent refusal was 1707 by Queen Anne in relation to the Scottish militia bill.

It was during Victoria's reign the precedent for formal signing of Royal Assent was lost.

The Queen has no more authority than me or you. The Queen's ministers hold the power, our parliament rules supreme, and the only cause for action is in an undefined ""constitutional crisis.""

Incorrect, the only truth to this is that there's no doubt a paralysing fear that using said powers would be the end of the monarchy as the unwashed masses decide it's "undemocratic" or authoritarian or some other buzzword they've been taught is bad.

Amusingly the political class is growing so reviled with no sign of redemption that I wonder if the day eventually comes where there's more faith in the monarchy than the government, though I think by the time that comes about we'd have a new monarch that would lack the respect and faith Elizabeth has built up through time on the throne alone.

Read a snippet about that era of navel warfare and that the commanding officer would float all his valuable items in a life raft behind the ship during battle and it was considered highly unsporting to fire upon the raft. Also if a larger ship came into broadside range of a smaller ship, it was also considered unsporting for the larger ship to open fire first.

So that is a complete failure of what the English system is meant to be, which is meant to establish the Monarch as the oversight of the law makers aka public assemblies. To claim we have a Monarch and then openly say that Monarch acting contrary to parliament would likely lead to its dissolution only proves my point...... that we don't have a monarchy any more.

British university is objectively more rigorous than EU unis. If you get all the information your lecturer gave out and give it back to them in europe during the tests/coursework you will recieve 100%. Here you are capped at less than 70% for only giving back information you have already been given, to earn highet than that, a first class degree, you must show evidence of outside learning - information not given to you during lectures etc. In the first year this information can come from textbooks journals and peer reviewed studies, in the 2nd year this can only come from journals and peer reviewed studies, in 3 rd year this can only come from peer reviewed studies. Also grades tend to be weighted something like 10% 1st year to final grade, 20% 2nd year to final grade, 70% 3rd year to final grade. To earn a forst class degree you must have a breadth and depth of your specified field. In europe you simply earn a degree for doing work they give you.
At least this is how it was for Bsc.

The Queen's consent is entirely done off Ministerial advice, and abroad, via her Governor General.

The Crown its self is not inactive. In 1975, the Queen's Governor General fired the Australian Prime Minister & dissolved parliament over a government shut down. There is not a single power the Queen holds that is not dependent on the advice of Ministers. Even the appointment of a new Prime Minister is done on the advice of the previous PM or a Minister.

Yep, I have a BSc myself and I can attest to everything you said. But just because we have high standards (which I'm firmly on board with as a good thing) doesn't mean the system is overall good for the UK. There's two primary factors that are awful right now: debt and degree inflation.

There has been a push for some time now for the majority of kids to attend uni; labour wanted at least 50% and has been pushing for this for some time now. But this leads to two very big problems. The first is debt, so much of it. Students are more in debt than they have ever been (there was a recent report put out that said you either stay in debt longer and pay more overall if you end up in a low paying job, or you pay tax rates of 51 percent in higher paying jobs). This is obviously obscene and is something that the current material put out about student loans really fails to cover. They give all the ways that obfuscate how much you'll actually be in debt without ever really going into the details and the reality.

The second is degree inflation. With more and more people going to uni degrees are becoming worthless. Everything must be a degree now as well, instead of an apprenticeship or some kind of BTEC like scheme where you work and learn and earn all at the same time. I know for a fact that I am completely over-educated for the job I do, despite my degree name being exactly the same as my job title. My job is far better suited to being an apprenticeship, with the much higher up positions being suited to degree holders. I know of dozens of other jobs where this is the case as well. But because everyone seems ideologically committed to the idea of everyone getting a degree they think that more people attending uni is a good thing, it's not. It makes those who hold a degree worth less than ever and forces those who could be doing non-degree jobs into uni for three years, unnecessary over-education and crippling debt.

It's all a shitshow
