idk, that's pretty dumb. i was obese in high school and I lost some weight over a course of a few years. Joined the Army and have been okay since. It did fuck up my metabolism though, I can't do nothing and eat regular 1800-2k calories like I do now, or I gain a tremendous amount of weight in a short time. But you can will yourself off your chair and do something, you won't be obese. Of course, my gf almost leaving me for getting fatter helped me lose 50 lbs after I got out of army.. so I guess motivation is needed in some cases.

I was overweight as a kid, didnt really take much notice but as I got older I really started to hate myself, since I was beginning to understand that I was spending my childhood and adolescence as a fat shut-in. Im 20 now and Im at 223 down from about 250, so Im getting there. But it really honestly sucks to know that a lot of the effects are permanent. Whats especially scary is my family medical history, Im at risk for things like murmurs and diabetes, and a bunch of other stuff with fancy medical names. Whats worse is this all recent medical history, at least two generations back my family has had bad hearts. Hopefully I dont have to spend my 50's on an operating table.

What's really crazy about that chart is that the line is for obesity, not just for being overweight. If you add a line to the left for overweight, there are only two women who have a high BMI and are not overweight. Given the large number of data points, two is a rounding error. Any woman that says her BMI is high because of muscle is in denial. Mostly true for men too but there are a couple of percentage points there because a small number of men are truly that muscular but it's still rare.
