Yes that is a facsinating observation but one that doesn't match up w/ my personal veiw of Libertarianism and Libertarians.
The reason I was/am soattracted to it is because it seems to be the only political philosophy which is in opposition to the idea of utopia, the only system which allows ppl to fail and be poor and get sick and die without saying its society's job to fix all that, fix all the "flaws" in man. I used to be a libertarian. Libertarianism is still a fantasy of mine. I've always been an independent person who likes to mind my own business. Yeah, see, I'm not bound by it though. So many here make their political preference their identity.
Personally, if I ran a country w/o opposition, I would make minarchist laws. However, if I was an elected official in a democratic republic or something similar, I'd be much more flexible and would work under the pretense that a true Libertarian state ain't gonna happen given our current systems and the collective worldveiw of the population.
