I don't weight lift, so I don't know my body fat %. I do judo and like 120-140 pushups a day when I work out. I don't get fat, I just get much heavier while looking the same. It's pride. You worked hard and you want people to know it. It is self-admittedly dumb, but after a while you can't stop. Skipping even a day of working out gives you pretty hard anxiety and any more than that is downright torture. You need to feel the pump and the effort.

I haven't experienced this myself, but I hear people who abandon lifting often fall into depression. I don't know why anyone would. It takes well over a year to create a respectably fit body and by then you should have all the equipment at home; and if not just go to the park and do some calisthenics you broke fucker. It's also not that hard. Simply doing 40 min workouts daily in front of the TV or whatever will keep you in shape; it's that freaking easy. Well, that and not being a fucking pig when you eat.

Good job. don't forget to do some strength training as well. Even if it is just you doing as many push ups as you can after you run. This helps. Also look into HIIT. That is High Intensity Interval Training. Basically you sprint for 10 seconds. Then walk/slowly jog for a minute, then sprint, then jog etc. This has been shown to be more effective at burning fat than regular cardio.

BMI isn't an accurate measurement of fat. You HAVE to use calipers and do the math to find out your body fat percentage.
Ronnie Coleman and Arnold Schwarzenegger would both be considered overweight in their prime based off a BMI measurement, where as their body fat percentage was probably less than 12%.

Meaure your weight in the beginning then don't.
Then try making a game out of how long you can go without eating. I am one hundred percent serious. Set it at first for like 12 hours. Then only allow yourself to eat one salad, as big as you want it, and it cfan include 1 chicken breast and up to 2 hardboiled eggs, plus 3 tbsp. of dressing. But it can be any amount of veggies, like lettuce, mushrooms, onions, peppers, radishes you like. However it can not contain grains. Then keep doing this for 2 weeks. Then measure your weight. You will be surprised at how much you lost.

Then change the game to how much weight you can lose each week. And start thinking about walking a mile every few days. Also no booze, and no soda during this. You can only drink water and hot and cold tea no sugar or artificial sweeteners added.
