Smartphones shouldnt be so smart. They should have fixed, solid apps, like pic related. Add processing and power yes, but keep them focused on what the phone is supposed to be - a utility item only.

You should still be forced to get on a computer - a Laptop or Desktop in order to fully use the internet. That keeps that role specifically dedicated and its own box, it doesn't invade the rest of your life.

We came up with Email in the 90s... its superior because you can concisely compose your thoughts and send them all at once.

Yea, there is already something similar to that idea in existence. Primarily used for engineering/circuit coding. One I know of is LabView.

Problem with trying to breakdown software dev into multiple interchangeable pieces that replace functions and classes and whatever else is you will eventually have to go back in and do some modification.

At this point I'm thinking we need another fucking language that's designed around this problem. The solution(s) are already there, basically what we call libraries in C, Python or Java whenever we need to perform a specific task.
