>>
>>129224055
too late to buy bitcoin bro. its 3k usd now. you either wait for a crash (it happens, and the chance now is high since bitcoin is in a storical high now.) Metals like gold works as a USD antagonist. they go up when dollar goes down. With that in mind check inflation and gold charts and check how well is USA going. if there is a big chance of instability buy gold. I think cryptocurrencies like bitcoin or etherium are a good investment now, you just need to buy when its low.

For $100 unless you want a few 1oz rounds of silver for shits and giggles, use an electronic vehicle so you don't have the overhead of shipping and stuff.

So, if you want to go for PMs, go buy some shares in a pool account at kitco.com or some other ETF-type thing. Or do buttcoin instead. For $100 I don't think the choice matters.

For $100 I don't know why you'd be worried about financial investments, but if that's the best you can think to do with $100 then so be it. It's not enough to feel stupid about no matter what you do.

I personally have about 1/2 of my life's savings in physical gold and silver, so you're kind of preaching to the choir on that one. I'm hoping I don't have to liquidate or maybe some kickass opportunity will come up to spend some, but ideally I just give it away within the family.

That's a brave move to liquidate all your stocks. I made a rash move during the housing collapse and lost out on riding the market back up at least part way, so I've gotten to be a little more conservative; if I had a big position in the market I would be looking at DCAing out around now rather than just dumping it.

As it stands, if we see a significant crash, I'll be thinking of shifting part of my bond and treasury portfolio back in to the market depending on the circumstances. Being diversified feels good.

True but consider this. Cash only goes down in value, the market is over valued and we are in a bubble. Shits going to crash hard soon. We have the highest debt in the world and its not out of the possibilities of getting negative interest.

From what I see, physical wealth is the only safe bet right now. Everything else is under threat.

The markets take years to recover, took my portfolio 8 years before I was even. I can sell my gold and silver in more than enough time to ride the wave back up.

>>
>>129230849
Don't blame you. Some of my favorite diversification has been into guns, food, skills, connections, supplies, etc. Having been out of work for a while in 2008, getting my bank shut down, etc. were all good lessons in what kind of "investments" would be good if I had to ride out a crash.

Can't exactly withdraw from a 401(k) short of taking the gamble of leaving a decent job (bye-bye health insurance etc.) or gambling on borrowing against it.

Heh, they took the gold mining shares option out of my particular plan just after I joined (it was going bonkers, too). After reviewing the market options, I determined that with minor exception it was mostly different variations on the same 30 or so blue chip US companies.

So it was like
>bonds
>some flavor of treasuries
>20 different samecompany funds
>maybe you want to focus on asia-pacific
>actually why not just let us do a complicated index of indexes so you don't have to try to play mutual fund manager constantly

To do gold, I'd have to be old enough to roll it out into a self-directed IRA or I'd have to leave the job.

I've got some snap peas, lima beans, garden beans, purple garden beans, just regular things like that. I'm learning to grow things from seeds, so I just went to the store and picked out seeds for things that I would like to eat anyway to see what's easy to grow and gives good yield. Beans in general happen to be one of the easiest, and plus they're fantastic from a nutritional standpoint.

Other easy high-yield things where I live include squash, tomato, eggplant, different kinds of peppers -- basically if it grows up and out and produces fruit then you don't need as much ground space for it.

Turnips, potatoes, onions, etc. also easy (and critters don't eat the damn turnip plants) but require a lot more ground area to get a lot of produce.

Bitcoin is high right now (was around $150 in 2015 now floating above $2,700) so it's probably not a smart time to buy, either watch for it to tank like it did in '14 or speculate on memecoins

If you buy $10 each of 10 meemcoins that cost less than 1 cent, and which you have researched and feel confident have a good chance of succeeding, then odds are at least one will take off (go from say $0.00001 to $0.05 in a month or less) and one or more may end up mooning ($1+) in the long term (3-6 months) despite the hodl meme, if you're starting out with a really small amount of money your better off increasing your capital in the short term to then make a long term investment.

You also have to treat this like day trading unless you want to just park in Bitcoin and hope it doubles by next year without much effort on your part (about equally as likely as another crash imo)

Cryptcoin markets are extremely volatile right now which means lots of opportunity and risk, so close management and monitoring is required

Protip: this is the primary utility of btc to small investors. You convert fiat currency into bitcoins because it's a household name and therefore much easier to convert (eth and ltc can also be converted i.e. bought with fiat, as well as a few others). You can buy fractions up to 1,000,000th which is a satoshi or sat for short. You can than buy meemcoins which are valued at a fraction of a cent with a number of sats ie fractions of a Bitcoin

In this way you can cash out on a memecoin at $.05 and still make a 500-1,000% profit on your investment if you get in and out of the right coin at the right time

As long as you don't buy high like an idiot then panic and sell low like a moron, it's easy to at least double your investment with a few hours of work

Important:

Obtain many types of dry beans. Diversify. Store them properly. Keep it airtight and waterproof in multiple packs. Keep them safe. Hydrate and cook your beans thoroughly. Some beans are toxic raw. This is not a game. This is not a joke. This is real. Your life will depend on it. War is coming.

Cans here are metal as well, but typically have a BPA liner on the inside unless they advertise being BPA free. Cans are way more convenient, but if you think ahead very slightly, it's pretty simple to soak some beans overnight, simmer them for 10min all at once or as you need them, put the unused portion in the fridge for later, etc.

If I had known this when I was poor I could have saved money vs. having to use an entire #10 can at a time before they started to spoil.

I have a small plastic bin of dry beans and another bin with about 30 cans of beans, then another one full of canned nutrient rich vegetables like spinach, carrots, etc no green beans and bullshit like that.

Also canned potatoes for their higher caloric content. Another full of Chef Boyardee, Dinty Moore, chicken, tuna and salmon. Another full of Progresso soup from when it was on sale for $1 each, and some Campbell's Chunky soups.

Then I have the My Patriot Supply deal that I got, a lot of "add hot water and that's it" stuff like beef stew, chicken and rice, etc. That's good for 20 years.

That exactly who you never want to tell. Sadly, they're the most likely to know it exists and where it is and have the opportunity to abuse your trust.

That being said my family and friends know I have some although not necessarily where to find it because I viewed that tradeoff as being useful to get them used to the concept of physical -- usually a mysterious and scary thing for most people.

>>129240148
It's a nonissue these days because there is so little of it owned individually. The biggest worry would be the dupes who keep it in a bank deposit box where it would be relatively easier for the government to try to engage in a mass confiscation per the PATRIOT act or whatever. Most people are too unfamiliar with physical gold and silver ownership to make rational choices about what to do.

It's all metabolized in the gut as usual, with the metabolites sent to the liver for it to use as material to generate whatever it sees fit to generate, and the unused metabolites are sent back to the gut for excretion. What's in question here is why the liver might decide to create what, and where what it creates winds up, and if it stays there as some sort of plaque or whether it cycles back out of the bloodstream and into the liver.

A wildly unhealthy diet may inspire undesirable deposits of cholesterol in the arteries, but it's not as simple as saying plant good meat bad.

Just bc I can't invest 1 billion like buffet why can't I invest 1000. If we both invest in Apple and Apple goes up 10% then we both made 10% profit. Who are you to say $100 is somehow the arbitrary number at which it's "not worth" investing.

>it's not as simple as saying plant good meat bad.

If a healthy range of plant food is available, such as soy and fruits and many vegetables, then yes it is a case of veg good, meat bad.

The only need for meat is when you need a lot of fat, protein and calories in a small package. We don't need it in our sedentary lives where food is all around us.

If all you have is $100, I would suggest buying 1 oz. silver rounds. Go to apmex's website and get as many as you can fit into your cart.

$100 can't buy shit worth of gold. Maybe a 1/10 oz. coin that is going to be dime sized.

BitCoin is a terrible investment right now.

>>129243507
Perhaps the concept of "need" is at issue here. Don't let me stop you from eating a largely vegan diet or whatever you like (I'm very heavy on vegetables myself) but it's not the sort of magic the fad some people make it out to be, and I would suggest that people who think it's a good idea do include a small amount of meat on a weekly basis anyway because it's easy to get the rest of the diet wrong and not notice chronic consequences.

Another good option (unless premiums are out of whack at the moment) is 90% "junk" silver. If there's only $100 to be spent, then why not effectively buy fractional silver?

Why would I barter outside my own kind? We will be far away from normies at that point. Any who stray too far and find their way to us will have to be physically removed. Most will kill each other.

This is the internet age. I have no pity for anyone who is not ready for a state of emergency, disruption in supply chain, etc.

A $40-$50 premium isn't bad considering the coming gains. Plus you get the "government minted" peace of mind from anyone you'd trade with.

Still, I only have bars from private mints.

Bitcoin is not a good End of World or major>2008 crash. It is useless like the power grid in a EoW event and in a major crash there is no guarantee that governments don't fuck with it. Anything Digital is not secure in the long term.

I'm in London and I buy physical bullion only. I get it over the counter at a bullion dealer in Mayfair. I now only buy gold Britannia's as they're (for UK citizens) Capital Gains Tax and VAT free. There's a premium on coins, but they're Royal Mint.
NEVER buy bars on ebay. They'll be gold plated tungsten.

Bitcoin will be "money" in a decade or two

If you want to be prepared
>Offshore phisical allocated gold (extra points for diversified)
>Gold at home
>FunyMoney (paper) at home instead of a bank account.
>If you wanna invest, invest in alternative markets outside of the mainstream (where everyone's savings are pushed to step in due to monetarism, you don't wan't to be there); value investing, buy things which goods price is irrationaly superior to it's market pricing, if you find that shit.
