I cant understand why the financial situation for people in Latvia is still so bad.
Everytime I visit Riga I see the busy streets and restaurants and people commuting to work.
Also on the coast side west of Rîga there are plenty of villas and highly modernized parks and hotel's.
Young people are there aswell and education is also available.

Yeah, I think the thread died before I could respond last time. Thanks for the advice - the consulate in NYC has a good guide for my exact situation.

As for leaving America, it's more of a backup plan than something I'm set on. I go to school at Berkeley so I am surrounded by far left people who hate people like me. If the rest of the country goes this way (and also turns into Mexico) then it might not be so nice to live in anymore. The combination of living in Berkeley and too much /pol/ has probably made me paranoid or pessimistic about the future here.

I'll definitely start learning the language if my citizenship goes through.
