Well... here lies the crux of the problem:

Western Ukrops tried to wipe us out within their designated territory during WWII and managed to kill 200k of us before Soviets showed up and assraped them. Eastern Ukrops are friendlier in that regard, but they are also more russian in ethnicity.

In short, western khohols may be closer to us, but that isn't necessarily balanced out by actual history. If anything, it only makes chimpouts worse as they are harder to detect amongst crowds than muslims and nogs.

They are lying to you or are too uninformed to be telling you the facts. Polands population was almost half orthodox during most of its history, especially during our largest territorial stage. Most of true Lithuania was orthodoxy (moving towards the Roman Christianity during later periods, Aristocracy being almost full romanised during partitions in XVIII century).

Nevertheless, orthodoxy was always a big part of Polands history. During the II Respublic in the mid-war period there were some repressions against orthodoxy as it was somewhat incorrectly seen as the Russian sign of dominance after the partitions - and as said before,
orthodoxy was always here (tearing down churches like the biggest church in Poland located in Warsaw, and giving orthodox churches to Roman Church. It had a big pushback from Eastern Polish population as they were mostly orthodox, so it stopped because it was a risk to the unity of the country. The repressions were about to tart again but the war started in 1939).

Now its a significant minority, half milion strong. Our church is authocepalous (Polish authocepalous orthodox Church), we had our representative at the recent meeting of the Patriarchs in Constantinople. Antiochs patriarch was visiting Polish orthodox churches like half a year ago.

So it's present, it's living, and we have some beautiful churches here.
