The British show is MUCH better. From the scheming, to the politics, to the backstabbing, the characters, Uruqhart and his wife's relationship, everything is vastly better. It even shows London slowly becoming a dirtier, poorer, more decayed city as Uruqhart's corruption spreads throughout the government (as was done at length in the book).

It's also much shorter, but it is a British series so episodes can be like two hours.
