I often wonder what our country is going to look like as Millennials begin to age. Most of us are underemployed and burdened with student debt. Few are getting married and many don't last for long. Fewer are having children. Houses are a fucking luxury item and even basic tiny houses are absurdly expensive. Companies scoff at the concept of full benefits, PTO, vacation time, and pensions. Health insurance is a damn nightmare and doesn't cover shit. Social Security will be gone.

Are we just going to be a bunch of single and/or childless people living in shitty apartments? Is there going to be a massive generational age gap with our kids 30+ years younger than us? How fucked are we?

Taking myself as an example - I'm a 26 year old Physical Therapist. I have steady employment and a nearly 6 figure salary. However, due to my student loans and other expenses, I sleep on an air mattress in a tiny room in a dingy apartment I share with a roommate. I mostly eat rice, beans, and eggs. I almost never go out to eat or drink. I have the same clothes, computer, and phone I had when I started uni. I don't mind living simply and try to make the most of it.

I will probably be 30 by the time my loans are paid. From there, it will be like starting from scratch in terms of saving up. My fiancee and I eventually want children but that will probably have to wait til at least til I'm 35. And if we want to raise them in a house we will probably need to wait til 40.

To put it more into perspective of how fucked we are, I am faring far better than the overwhelming vast majority of my friends. Most live with their parents. Some aren't employed. Those that do are mostly paid shit wages. And many of them tell me how jealous they are of me and how fortunate I am and how I've "made it".

So apparently, I am the fucking pinnacle of millennial success!? Really? Is this it? Is this as good as it gets?

Divine tradition is not something man has come up with. It has been handed down to us from the transcendent. Otherwise we would be free to determine any and all laws by ourselves. And despite what humanism and other heresies teach, man are not the measure of all things. If one would think that, he would revert quickly to peddling utopian ideologies like so many do today.

Natural hierarchy means that there exists an order, a way prior to man. And to deviate from this will only ever lead into chaos. One must accept that there exists a transcendent truth beyond us. And by submitting to it one can live in harmony with the world.

I'm not saying we shouldn't work to better our society. What I'm saying is that there are limits to such work. And without understanding these limits, through active contact with the great religions of the world for example, we lose sight of what we are meant to do in life.
