Politics has become a system of resource redistribution to serve the constituents of whoever wins power. It has ceased to be, in the US at least, a system of any idealism or higher purpose outside of the self-interest of the represented demographics.
So whoever is in power doesn't give a shit about accountability and whoever is out of power cries REEEE for 4-8 years.
IT was like this under Obama, now it's like this under Trump.
I'm more curious how many Democrats would have wanted to postponed the inauguration in the interim after the election.
It's one thing to say that half of all Republican Voters are anti-American but you have to put that up against the other parties to understand if its an anomaly or if they're simply an accurate sample of the rest of the country

Can we discuss the real elephant in the room amidst this censorship fiasco.
Did Youtubers seriously think this gravy train would last forever? 99% of them produce no merchandise and are entirely reliant on Google ad money. That effectively makes them Google employees as Google can fire them whenever they want. How did this many people think they could just coast on ad money this long? At least some of them are starting to wake up and realise they have to sell a fucking t-shirt or two.
These people are complaining that Google, a corporation that has a pseudo monopoly on information and whose motto was for the longest time "don't be evil" (if you have to fucking remind people, there is clearly a problem), a company they themselves have become dependant upon is finally throwing its weight behind "the fascist side".
It's not enough to just support another video hosting service, you have to stop using Youtube, produce merchandise for your fans to buy, and contribute to that video hosting service so it doesn't run out of content, not the fucking other way around. Youtubers produce no merchandise, contribute no money to Youtube making it reliant on ads to begin with and in some cases outright beg their fans to just give them money.
Anyway let's discuss this.

Google has youtubers by the balls. As long as Google makes money off the ads running on people's channels nothing will change. If everyone de-monetized their channels then Google would be forced to change. That's obviously never going to happen. The Google gods have won, unless youtubers unite and fight.

A student painting that depicts the Statue of Liberty wearing a Muslim hijab, displayed in congressman Lou Correa’s Santa Ana office, is being attacked as an unpatriotic violation of the separation of church and state by members of We the People Rising, a Claremont-based activist group that advocates stricter enforcement of immigration laws.
The group, including several Orange County participants, has asked without success that Correa remove the painting hanging with other finalists from the Democratic congressman’s student art competition.
Because of the complaint, Correa said he asked the House Office of Legislative Counsel for advice and was told there was no legal issue. That has not appeased the activists, who are tentatively planning a Sept. 11 protest at Correa’s district office.
“It’s a bad example for our congressman,” said Orange resident Mike McGertrick, an activist with We the People Rising. “He shouldn’t have anything religious in his office. … I would like to see our Congress people be right-down-the-line patriotic.”
McGertick went farther in his condemnation during a July 3 meeting with Correa’s district director, Claudio Gallegos, calling the hanging of the painting in the office “reprehensible and disrespectful.”
“In this day and age, we want to see that our elected officials are the utmost of patriotism,” McGertick says in a video the group recorded and posted on YouTube.
Correa sees nothing objectionable in the painting, which comes at a time of controversy over Donald Trump’s efforts to ban the entry to the U.S. of people from Muslim countries and about the treatment of Muslims in this country.
