Anyone carry a camera while out, Post your pictures.
>phone
Here's an early sunrise photo from Mcintosh Lake in Algonquin Park, unfortunately all I had was my shitty phone, it could have been awesome with a real camera
Took this pic yesterday. It's an old canal lock house, built around 1800.
It was fairly isolated, couldnt get in to it.
Would love to live in it.
>>988063
Bloody nothing mate, my grandparents live in a 700 year old cottage in the hills.
(Yours is nice really)
no step on snek
>>988054
Phone camera doesn't do too bad.
Panoramic mode is a lot easier than stitching together photos from my other cameras.
As an added bonus, I'm usually carrying it. They say the "best camera is the one you have with you".
Nikon's pretty awesome, but being as large/expensive as it is, along with the accessories/shit that goes along with it, I don't always take it with me.
Photos I come home with when I do take it usually make it worthwhile.
Helmet camera is fun.
Neat to go back and review what I could do better after races, what I need to work on before the next event.
Usually have it on when i'm commuting... easy to delete files if nothing happens, but i've caught some crazy shit with it.
Had some tame but very pretty /out/ today. Only got one good photo though.
>>988054
This is awesome. I just finished a roll of B&W today, will get them developed tomorrow and scan them in.
My old Sony point-n-shoot camera isn't too bad either though.
Old, 7mp, but I bought it for $50 so i'm not too worried about breaking/losing it.
This one usually gets thrown in my pack anytime I go riding.
Not as fast UI as my Nikon, sensor/optics isn't as good, but it still has manual mode that lets me shoot up to 30sec.
Big step up from the phone camera though. Takes much nicer photos.

Hey Laura! Nice trip wasn't it!

Spotted this koala a couple of weeks ago.

So what's the story behind the teletubbie thing? Did you lose a bet or are you just kinda weird?
>>988574
>Did you lose a bet or are you just kinda weird?
The latter.
>>988581
You have quickly ascended the /out/ pantheon, teletubbie guy I would consider traveling tubbies up there with body-slamming wolves and batonny chop chop in sheer memery. From here on out, every time somebody asks for gear reccomendations, I'm gonna link them to stuffed teletubbies.
>>988586
I appreciate your appreciation, anon
>>988586
I've seen them in Walmart, shopping for my daughters toys
>>988593
Buy one and take it traveling. This is what they were built for!
>>988595
But I'm just a simple ole neet I can't do it mista
>>988600
You can do it ! Follow your dreams.
>>988600
Then just strap it onto your backpack and it's there whenever you go somewhere.
If you're interested in sailing, I posted a few in that thread:
>>988389
>>988608
Assuming you bought all these new and using Amazon numbers, you spent almost $400 on teletubbies.
Teletubbie = $14.99 (Round to 15)
26 Tubbies in that pic
15 x 26 = 390
THREE HUNDRED AND NINETY DOLLARS FOR TUBBIES, YOU CRAZY SON OF A GUN.
>>988575
>the latter
You do you, Teletubby-Anon. At bare minimum you clearly get out more often and in more interesting places than 90% of this board.
>>988611
It's spread out over a few years.

How in the heck did this even start though? Like, what went on in your brain that made you think "I should take stuffed child toys on my adventures. That would be good."
>>988643
It's a version of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travelling_gnome
but cuter
>>988640
Seriously.
What the fuck.
Just took this today on my way back up the mountain. I live/work up there.
Hahaha why the fuck there so many Teletubby pictures what the fucken even is this board. I dig it.
Here's my contribution to the thread; an evil looking tree near the bank of the Suwanee River.
>>988652
Here's another wicked looking tree.
>>988652
Reminds me of the American chestnut tree,
It makes me very sad to know the American chestnut died out, the whole eastern side of the USA had these magnificent wonderful tall trees.

And one of each wasn't enough?
Please tell me you have quadruplets who are just really posessive and all needed their own set.
>>989231
How did you do that?
>>989466
Two long exposures on top of each other.
Got my camera settings just right in Manual mode to properly explose the LED lamp in the dark, exposed for 30secs while my friend scooted around waving it around the logs. Then did it again over the same exposure to get more, while he went around the other side and back of the logs. Long exposures are tons of fun.
>>988586
I just want to know what knife that is because that fucker is indestructible.
>>989420
You are correct, it was a canon t5
very good value camera for your first DLSR
>>989221
I usually do, because whenever I do a little, it ends up being WAY too obvious.
>>989474
You might think these look cool but they're really not.
Long exposure has a place in photography, light painting, smooth moving water, and shitty cabins do not.
Sorry, just one of my pet peeves.

Up by a local Welsh reservoir. Doing a bit of pike fishing.
Welsh Trout lake, Brecon Beacons.
>>991576
tfw i live in wales but ive never really had the chance to go do fun /out/ stuff
>>991582
The Beacons are an amazing place for it desu. I'd say make a bit of time if you can.
>>988448
The best kind.
>>991600
its just pretty fucking annoying when you dont drive.
im not sure how id really go about it. you got any tips for someone with /novehicle/?
>>991692
I don't drive either but I live in Merthyr so I'm quite close, I get the odd lift out there but a lot of the time I get a bus. Which I guess would be my only tip. Bus as far as you can, or network a few people with similar interests. Where in Wales are you based?
>>991741
im roughly in the middle of pembrokeshire, so its pretty far from any good /out/ i guess. closest thing we have is like, coast walks. full of people and boring after the 200th time.
>>991744
Yeah doing those walks aren't too much my thing. I gotta say my fave place is Pontsticill/Dolygear reservoir. I like to wild camp up there too but chavs drop litter up there like fucking assholes.
The fishing can be hard but it is rewarding.
You've got Llys-y-frân your way though haven't you? Perhaps look up some bus routes, pack really light and try to stay out of the way of bailiffs etc.
One more pic of my fishing up Pontsticill/Dolygear, yes I have a shimano calcutta in two sizes, I'm a bit of an angling fanatic lol
>>991750
Oh shit you can't even see the reel in that pic nevermind I was just pre-empting being called an asshole lol
Emory Falls in Frozen Head State Park
>>991750
yea idk i should really just get a bus somewhere. but its not the cheapest. + nobody to go with makes it kinda meh.
ill deff do it at some point tho
>>991755
Yeah I wish Outdoorsmanship etc was more prevalent here like it seems to be in the US. It's hard to find people who share an interest in just getting out there fishing and camping and exploring. I see a load of lads out there like but it's just a simple "How's it fishing, oh yeah I was here last week" blah blah no networking.
>>991757
yea its pretty shit for that. you hear all the time about how nice wales is for /out/ but then its like.. pretty fucking rare to find people who actually do it
>>991760
I find that in Brecon you have quite a lot of people if you fly fish the main reservoirs like me but all thy do is stop in the car, have a little fucking look and eat a sandwich then they're off again. It's bizarre to me because when I see some beautiful glistening water or a trail I wanna know what's under it or where it goes right away and I won't be happy otherwise.
Good luck on your adventures anyway man I hope it opens up for you soon.
>>991762
thanks my dude
have a picture of an outdoors

>>994752
slap my tits and call me bepsi, he's right. this is actually somehow more mesmerizing in b&w. i was going for the cathedral effect the whole time but it's about texture and contrast.
>>988510
you are truly a blessing to this earth. Thank you. I love you
Ski trip om friday. Good weather, lots of people though.
A pic from last year. Check the Exif if you want to know where it was from. I didn't shoot the car so don't blame me.
ultra sun + snow in westeurope
everday could be this day. war is comming. stay sharp.
>>994752
If you're into the whole artsy fartsy its ok, but I want to see where you've been. I want to see nature in all its colors.
>>995443
It's not always about colour, it's about texture, geometry, atmosphere, story. Dismissing that as 'artsy fartsy' is stupid.
>>988471
Blue ghost?
There's an old Blair Witchy bridge lost in the woods from the 18th or 19th century that doesn't have a road over it anymore. I found a troll under there one night. And a Kool-Aid™ box seems to have washed up as well.
>>995484
Not that anon and you have a point, but it's still true that black and white is usually more pretentious than it is effective. Also it only really looks good on silver gelatin film, or that digital Leica that only shoots B&W.
>>995505
>usually more pretentious than it is effective
That comes down to usage and not any inherent flaw in the style. Many of the greatest photos of all time are BW, and their effectiveness would not be nearly the same if they were shot in colour.
to those pleb-anons who don't think B&W makes for more interesting and richer photos, I give you exhibit A:
