Cant stress how amazing this album is if you like the audio-aspect of the outdoors, along with Eno's Apollo album.

Most ambient projects dont really grasp an organic theme like this does.

Post more music- great to listen to as you drive to your out destination.
>>
"my music is so amazing and special i don't need to check the catalog to see if there's already an /out/ music thread" general

see >>963824 you fucking lazy faggot

John Fahey, Robbie Basho, and Leo Kottke are the ultimate /out/ guitarists.

Fahey: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIavfcdqnLo
Basho: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ezp0WMTAzc
Kottke: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QOf_fl9Sp8

Sorry I did it in a pinch- board is slow anyways so it doesn't matter much, could have a thread dedicated to just eno + out
>>
>>967127
>board is slow anyways so it doesn't matter much
no, that's exactly why it matters. now we're stuck with this retarded thread that's going to have more posts from me bitching at you than actual content for several days.
>>
Maybe a one-off but I listened to this album while taking a stroll through the rainy woods and it was excellent

>>966994
These are good, American primitive is basically the penultimate North American /outmu/
>>
>>968107
>the city of you
>in charge of using "penultimate" correctly
might want to check a dictionary next time you want to try to sound smart, anon
>>
>>966972
I love Eno, don't really /mu/+/out/ on principle but open to try. What do you use for your listening OP? I feel like headphones and earphones would be too intrusive and 'present' but you can hardly carry around a speaker in your backpack.
>>
>>968166
You're right, I hold the same opinion at least.
I listen to it while driving to do out stuff.

It's a good way transition between in and out basically. I would only listen to eno while out if I was bored for some reason and needed a boost
>>
>>968166
Some of the new bluetooth speakers are reasonable.

Ive played stuff off my phone before but I am pretty conservative about it, I cant stand this new trend of little faggots blasting nicki minaj and shit on popular trails, ugh fuck off with that shit. So I try not to be them. Ill usually only listen to something for a short period after camp is set up.
>>
Wow op I fucking love On Land. I listen to it at night whenever I'm feeling choked by city life. Turns my apartment into a Jurassic period swamp. Crazy dream fuel too if you listen to it while you sleep.
>>
How many of you make your own music while /out/? If I'm camping, I'll bring my guitar or mandolin to play around the campfire, and a harmonica if I'm going hiking.

Anyone else here listen to black metal innawoods? That and folk and jam bands are what I listen to when /out/ the most. I'm sure /mu/ hates me.
>>
>>970986
I don't listen to music while out, but I do like black metal and folk.
>>
>>971987
Yeah honestly I don't listen to music on the excursion themselves much. Half the reason I listen to black metal or acoustic music is to catch the /out/feel.

For imagining your hypothermic death, pre-euphoria:

I listen to agalloch a lot. I guess that's black metal. In the winter time the mantle goes along perfectly.

Hey guys I recommend

>Ruhr Hunter
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pfl082gaPjo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXpUegz7cbg

and

>Novemthree
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ea3CYBtEVos
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4p2MxY6s6H0&index=4&list=PLlxejNt0CfU7gPXhVs6yYhz2CIDyjTYk0

and
>Arrowwood
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13JuCL3WN4U

All create spooky cultic nature themed folk/dark ambient/neofolk with similar vibes to Agalloch and the "Cascadian Black Metal” scene in terms of aesthetics, themes and ideology.

I'll bring a tin whistle no matter what. Love the sound. It's better with groups, and most of my friends that I go out with quite like it, so I bring that.

I usually carry a Feadóg Brass C. It's a nice mellow sound. Can be shrill if not tweaked
>>
>>975308
I sincerely hope that you just constantly play "Concerning Hobbits" on a loop while you hike.
>>
>>975463
I'll have to learn that one! Sounds lovely!
I usually play Irish songs like "Tripping up the Stairs" and other Gospel/Worship style songs. Never really considered playing music from LotR or the Hobbit. I'll look into both for more music like that!
>>
>>966972
anyone who listens to metal while /out/ should just kill themselves and reincarnate to hell where the devil can enjoy it with you.

Glad someone finally made a thread. I'm a filthy chartfag, so have a chart of my /out/ albums. I'd like recs if anyone has any.

I love that Basho. It's comfy as fuck

>>970950
This is fucking fantastic. His voice and the guitar are both fantastic.

>>972214
Try Flying Saucer Attack, if you haven't already. I think you'd like it -

I found this album at an estate sale a couple years ago. I couldn't find much about it online.

I can't believe i'm seeing this album in an /out/ thread
>>
>>976302
You couldn't find out about Brian Eno online? He's one of the biggest ambient artists ever.
>>
>>976226
>GYBE
>John Coltrane
This must be a good list. I will give it a listen
Also, I really liked Porcupine Tree. Is there any other sound like them? Reminds me somehow of William Basinski
>>
>>967127
>board is slow anyways so it doesn't matter
fuck off bud, we may be slow but that just makes us special
>>
>>976304
He's one of the biggest artists ever full stop
>>
>>968398
Have you ever made music while camping alone? I have thought about blowing on my monica by the fire at night but I'm worried it might draw unwanted attention.
>>
>>970986
I listen to Wolves In the Throne Room and other atmoblack whenever it snows and I go for a nighttime snow-walk
Probably autistic as hell but it feels comfier than any other music.
>>
>>976226
>PfB
>Codeine
>Cocteau
>GYBE
My fuckin man. I'm sure you've heard of Carissa's Wierd but if not, they're right up your alley
>>
This is my /out/ album. It reminds me a lot of various trips I've made to Southern Utah, Arizona, the Californian Sierras, and in particular Zion National Park.

It makes my good day even better to see you that liked that. Check out their newest album too, it really reminds me of trips to Sequoia, Yosemite, Joshua, and the Central Coast:

Also, I love how the first song in your link is a remix of Fleetwood Mac. Very nice.
