Kinda reminds me of this frat house in Madison at Wisconsin. It was on the lake there, and the house is like 5 stories tall and build on a steep slope going down to the water.

So you walk in the front door of the house and if you walk straight to the back towards the lake, you are 3 stories high and there is a big balcony overlooking the water. And then you can go down two flights of stairs and you come out the back of the house at ground level right on the water.

In the process of building a small sh/in/ter.

It started as an approx. 10x8 triangle platform about 10' off the ground tied to 3 trees that has morphed.

My chainsaw buddy came over to cut up some reclaim/fallen logs for walls.

2 walls up and trusses, but it just started snowing so it's putting a damper on things.

Hopefully we can get out again this weekend and put on some roofing.

I'd take pics, but fuck permits...

Maybe if I go back /out/ this weekend I'll take some for you guys.

Wish I could show more, there's always people in the pictures. My grandpapa built it in the early 70's. I know it doesn't look perfect, but this place is basically the definition of comfy to me. When you go inside it's a total blast to the past, all of the furniture is from the 60's and 70's. The shelves there are covered in books, letters, and pictures all left by the family that had access to it.

It was just an area we used to have bonfires at. Roughly 30 or so acres of wetland/forest surrounded by fields n such.

Started out as a "deer stand"(the railed top deck) then kind of grew from there as a wood shelter and now maybe a mini living area with a wood stove eventually.

Possibly a nice outdoor kitchen down the line.

Just a nice little place with good potential.
