desu I'd just make a few shaped charges or something, stick a bunch of shrapnel in front of them, and wire it up along the path of three tripwires in a triangle around your camp. Same effect for a fraction of the labour/weight. Comes at the cost of being easier to remove, so not really the preferred option if you wanted to leave a small minefield behind you.

You are worried over nothing. It doesn't really happen. If you lock up anything of value when you are car camping nobody messes with it. You won't see anyone out away from roads that won't also be an out person. They won't mess with your stuff.
