Contact stun guns (what you have pictured) are not tazers.

They're also literally worthless as they offer no mechanical incapacitation mechanism, rely on a battery, require you to be within arm's reach, and have no regional/national/international standard of quality or effectiveness to be held to.

A good one is strictly a pain compliance tool that unlike large heavy objects will not work through heavy clothing. A bad one just makes noise. There are far more bad ones than good ones.

Mace/pepper spray is much safer. A taser is a device you need to use point blank and it can be easily taken away from you. A spray bottle that can hit someone in the face, several feet away, is difficult to take away from someone. You also need to make skin contact with the tazer. With the spray you just need to hit their upper torso and the mist will get into their lungs when they breath.
