To the anon that asked about what racing games to get

The initial-D games for ps3 are pretty good, so are the Wangan Midnight games, they're very Tokyo Xtreme Racer-ish

GT 5 & 6 are good and you can find cheap copies at places like EB games now since they're old gen, then there's the old NFS games, and if I were you I'd download a Ps2 emulator on your PC and download the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series, they're VERY GOOD
you do highway battles for exp and money and do loops around the Japanese highways looking for racers to flash your lights at and pull, has alot of customization and rpg elements

They seem like an easier-to-live-with Miata. Light weight 2-seater. Doesn't make much HP but handles well and it has more cargo room and isnt a convertible. And gets better fuel economy.

>Tfw you get home friday night from work and feel shitty/depressed/hopeless/super lonely cause you're 25 with no friends, no gf, no "fun" car to go night driving with, and living at parents place in a small town you've never lived before, cause your old gf fucked you over and ended up making you homeless in another city right when you were about to start school and had no where to go.

so you think about getting yourself a take out treat since it's Friday and fuck it, then realize there's nothing good to go pickup and everything is pretty much closed besides fast-food places, and ends up making you feel dissappointed that you can't even have a weekend treat other than some mcdicks you've had 100 times

And you turn on your old Ps3 and pop in Gran Turismo 6 and listen to the smooth lounge jazz menu music and feel it wash over You...calming you down...makong you drift off into relaxation..begging you to just let go and play some racin games..fund the car you love and race..forgetting about everything..

>>
It's annoying when your car has been making a rattling noise for months and you never found the source of it.

It sounds like a heat shield or a panel is loose somewhere in the engine, but I cannot find anything visibly loose.

Never found it necessary enough to have a mechanic look at it, but I might be forced to.

Unless this is a common thing for 4-cylinder CM5 Accords or Hondas in general.

Never had any mechanical issues; my biggest issue is my speakers cutting out when I'm playing music through the CD player or aux/Bluetooth adapter.
>>
>>17778188
It might be just the way the engine sounds, both CM5s I've had have a metallic clang to them and they run fine.
>>
>>17778198
Does the sound frequency increase when you accelerate?
>>
>>17778223
Yes, these motors had timing chains when others had belts so it's bound to be noisy, especially now that the CMs are old and high mileage whores.

Perhaps; I'll check it out tomorrow on my day off.

I'm not really sure when it cuts out; it seems to happen at random. It happens to do it when the radio is playing, but not as frequently.

I usually just need to turn the audio off and on again in order for the speakers to work again.

that being said I didn't know there is an RS version

/hg/, i need someone to calm my mind

I'm probably buying a 95 DC4 Integra later this week

I went and looked at it today, and it threw codes (OBD1) for
A. No cat, (shitty aftermarket exhaust)
B. Wheels wrong diameter (had 16s on front and 15s on back, getting both sets of 4 for both, not sure why he had them mixed

Apart from typical honda wheel well and a little crusty on the bottom rear quarters and rockers the body was solid, i spent a good 10 minutes underneath it and couldn't find anything i truly worried about.

Engine ran alright, B18B2 LS slow factory, and it shifted braked and steered pretty well. (Shifter was a little odd to find first in but i'd chalk that up to not bieng used to the car more than a mechanical issue)

Its $1k and has more miles than god, but honestly felt pretty alright as far as clapped out hondas go.

Tell me /hg/ should i save myself now or should I go in headfirst
>>
>>17784791
What's the code exactly? I have aftermarket exhaust from the header to the muffler with no cat and there are no codes. I do have one for high O2 voltage that i haven't messed with yet but that's about it. I think the pre-96 Hondas only have one O2 sensor and not a second one after the cat. As for the shifter, the linkage is most likely loose with age.

For $1k if it runs good it's hard to walk away.
>>
>>17784810
Thats basically how I've sold it to myself

I don't remember the exact but you could smell the cat was not working too well from behind

The guy is giving me a box with a bunch of extra shit with it. Stock steering wheel, new cat, some different mufflers, the stock wheels and two sets of cheapo aftermarkets

It needs a rad but the guy is literally less than a mile from my house and I can baby it home and throw a rad in without too much issue.

my ONLY huge reservation is fixing the crunchy bits. I've already lost two DD's to excessive rot (and while admittedly both were more far gone to begin with) and I sure as shit will slave to keep this thing from going the same way.

Also helps i have a lot of honda friends that could easily help me toss a new motor/trans etc in it if ncessary
>>
>>17784823
Yeah that's a hell of a deal then with three sets of wheels. Can make most of your money back selling them on a import Facebook group. I didn't have a lot of Honda friends before getting mine but I made a bunch after. Convinced me to keep the car for as long as possible and stick to Hondas for a while. Really awesome guys.
>>
>>17784791
OBD1 doesn't have a "cat" code. If it's code 1, it could be a bad o2 sensor. Pull it out and spray it with carb cleaner. I have saved a few that way. Otherwise spend the 25 bucks or whatever and get another one.

But first i'd say make sure you know which codes its throwing. So get a piece of wire and jump the service connector. It's 2 pins, near ecu.
>>
>>17784866
Yeah I got code 1 on a brand new O2 sensor. I'm just assuming the sensor was faulty. Runs a 3.8+V on my app and it's supposed to be 1V or below. Pretty weird.
>>
>>17784850
Thanks tripfriend, you've helped put my mind at ease

I can already tell my mom is going to hate it but I just have to remind her that I will make more money with my own car again since I don't need to live on that "Bum ride from other people" game and can go be a functional adult

I already work full time and saved up half of every paycheck for the last two months for this, and I"m going to continue on that heavy saving game just to be prepared if i need to get another car or something dumb like that, but I do like the feeling of having a few stacks in the bank like I do now

I'm still oddly geeked. B18B2 and the Y80 are both pretty solid drivetrains and tegs are pretty sweet. It even has the cool GSR pattern seats in it. She's kinda ugly on the outside from some questionable choices by the previous owners but nothing a little time and love can't fix
>>
>>17784882

There should be a label on the caliper, usually on the front side. Most likely Nissin but there will also be a part number. Hawk is usually the pad of choice for Hondas.

EG's are pretty fun cars, even in auto. Good handling and lightweight. Is it stock and in good condition apart from not being used for a while? If yes it could be worth a decent amount of money since they're hard to find stock and in good working order. Post pics if you can.

Be sure to check everything for corrosion since it wasn't used for a while. Also, you might want to change your fluids (engine oil, tranny oil, coolant, brake fluid) and filters.

Hey Hondabros, what Civic do I get to do a B series conversion? I wanted to go for and older ED/EF but there's not a lot around and I don't feel like converting one to EFI, same goes with EGs. I actually really liked the Fit Sport I drove. It was plenty powerful to keep up with traffic and small enough that it was fun to throw around corners.

The only thing is that the manual (which is what you should be getting) drives wildly different from the CVT version. The CVT drives like anything else, but with the 6-speed, that little bastard will be buzzing along at over 3k RPM at 65mph in 6th. I actually had to downshift to 5th and upshift back to 6th because I thought I had somehow shifted into 4th. Nope, 6th.

have ac blow into your room, but no directly at you. there are two options; if the air feels heavy and sticky, perhaps then a dehumidifier would be better, or, if the air feels dry and dusty maybe a humidifier would help smoothen out the air

The real problem is that the AC is incapable of blowing in my room. The unit it setup at the other end of the four bedroom apartment. However, I checked the radiator and there's still milk coffee-looking stuff in it, which the mechanic said needs some more flushing, so come back in a week. Is this legit?

Then, halfway home I got a check engine light for P1259, and my car can't hold idle. It'll stall every time I try to slow down for a stop, so I have to keep the gas pedal slightly depressed all the time to keep it alive. Any idea what's going on?
>>
>>17795763
I don't know if the milky coolant is a symptom of a leaking head gasket, but having coolant in your engine oil definitely is though. Maybe he actually did forget to bleed it, but I wouldn't take the risk of driving around with that and he should have fixed it right away. You can do it yourself and see if the milky substance is still there.

>check engine light for P1259
Seems like this is related to engine oil as well. Your mechanic definitely fucked up something somewhere.

>my car can't hold idle
Not sure if this is related to the original problem. I had this issue and cleaning the idle air control valve should help.

Hondas only actually appear in 0, TXRD2, and C1GP. They got clever in 0 by using each car's chassis code and fudging the logos.

C1GP is also only playable if you have a hard-modded PS2 (blocked sensor) and Swap Magic.
