Got a question: my bike is a 400cc i2. I have a little turbo off of a 1.5l i4 diesel. On my bike each cylinder has a 1.5" exhaust pipe. The turbo has a 40mm inlet and outlet for the turbine. Would this sizing be too restrictive for my bike or no? I know it's entirely the wrong turbo for the job but I'm just curious.

K1600GT. By all accounts, a really nice handling, surprisingly sporty ride with the usual BMW spectacularity in on-board comfort.

For a more cruiser type deal, a Guzzi MGX-21. Looks amazing, and one of the most agile big-bore cruisers ever made.

If you just want to have fun, any will do. The CBRs are probably the most common with the largest support.

They will all be woefully outdated and not at all competitive to a modern sportbike like an RSV4 or S1000RR

CBR600F4 or CBR900RR are probably the best of them. They're obviously not as good as modern bikes, but they're still good sportbikes. A good rider on a 90s sportbike will blow away most riders on modern bikes.

Do y'all think auto transmissions are the future of motorcycles?

My bike has very very high idle, in 3k range. It's less pronounced when cold, but it still keeps rev for a long time if I open throttle even a little bit. Climbs and sticks there for 3-5 seconds. And after it's hot just stays there forever.

So is the hayabusa the new meme now? Who's going to get one next?
>>
>>17646337
Automatic transmissions as they are in most cars would be outright dangerous because of the throttle response delay and motorcycle's dependence on power delivery for basic stability.

Putting electronic transmissions in most bikes is just not financially viable, especially because learning how to shift is such a minor thing to get over compared to the general danger and challenge of full blown motorcycling.

If you want a lazy to ride 2 wheeler you may as well get a scooter.

do you think there will ever be an electric bike with fake "manual" gearing? I think a good amount of people would be intrested in an electric bike with a "clutch" that behaved like an actual bike... IE if you fuck up a shift the bike would actually react and lug the "engine" or whatever

I have a local friend I met on /dbt/ who bought a 1999 SV650 and he's had at least 15 things break down on it over three months and had to walk it home at night at least 3 times in that period as well. He's replacing it.

They just show up man. I live in NYC. Obviously they don't come to the twisty rides but when it's night city cruising they're welcome. They always fall behind and get stuck in rush hour traffic though and they try to share lanes with bikes. They're annoying and risky to pass too. But they are reassuring for new riders to stay behind. They always blast music and act as mobile DJ's though. The passenger is more often than not high as fuck too.
>>
>>17647230
Recently I've been starting all my rides with Animals As Leader's Arithmophobia https://youtu.be/lfKrjZWG09c - it's the track playing while I put my last glove on, snug up my phone and start rolling. Then after a few lights, my playlist for the day starts - Gesaffelstein's Conspiracies Pt 2 and Aleph albums show up often. Played some 3OH!3 today. Uplifting or balearic trance for less intense riding, maybe at night. Luigi Lusini, Solarstone, Oceanlab are some favorites there. Others include Orbital, The Prodigy, Purity Ring, and of course Death Grips.

Oh yeah and the Can-Am's are pretty useful for carrying water and supplies. When I buy some road flares I'll give them a couple. One of the club founders mains a Suzuki Burger 650 which is really useful for storing helmets, gear, supplies, and water as well.

When I had my bad crash back in September the scooter seat + backrest was really good for carrying the dazed and then later high me. It has actual footrests, side seat grips, and a backrest.

Get yourself something like an DN-01 and feel how even 'top of the line' autos feel on a baiku. it doesn't suit the needs on a bike. I had a Cb500 automatic downshift on me in an apex at 40 kph, stood the bike right back up and fucking near put me over a cliff if i didn't brake.

Oy,
Any of you all have experience changing/repairing a tubed tire on the roadside? I've had to do it to my other bike one but that was a tubless.

Any tips or tricks?

>>
How do I pivot my bike on the kickstand?
I saw my friend do it a couple times but I'm not sure how to do it without fucking my shit up.
>>
>>17646241
Depends on the gen. K1 750 had USD fork, 600 didnt for example.
>>
>>17647731
You mean like getting the rear up? Just stand on the side of the stand, grab on the handlebars with your left hand and something close to the exhaust on the other side (like the rear peg) with your right and pull it towards you.
>>
>>17647731
Lift it more up rather than over
>>
>>17647745
I mean using the kickstand to turn the bike to face a different direction when it is inert.

>>17647746
Lift it up more up rather than over, could you explain that?
I'm a bit of a brainlet
>>
>>17647678
Post your license next to it timestamped kid I bet its your dads kid I bet u dont even have a bike post ur license and timestamped social security card next to it on the tank with your face in the mirror.
>>
>>17647764
>being this triggered

>>
>>17647731
You just do it. Put the kickstand out. Pull the bike up on it slightly and pivot it in the direction of the lock on the kickstand, not against the lock (clockwise) or you'll risk having it fold on you I guess. It's pretty easy, easier than you'd think.

Or you can get on, straddle it, do a burnout and pivot it that way. I'm not even memeing. When you have good control over it you can do it without fucking your tires and just flick your rear around. It looks cool.
>>
>>17647753
Put stand down
Pull on handle and subframe to counteract the weight of the bike
Pivot

Truthfully, I've never liked doing this as it only takes a second or two to move the bike normally, just make sure your stand bolt is tight but not too tight and that the tab isn't rusted/cracked.
>>
>>17647753
If you try just pulling the bike towards you it won't work. Put your hands on the far side of the bike on something nice and solid, and lift the bike up and onto the stand.
>>
>>17647771
>>17647678

>>
>>17647779
Sidestand, not centrestand.
>>
>>17647792
I know. Why would you put your hands on the far side of the bike if you were pulling it into the center stand?

I don't even know who is talking about what the fuck what anymore but assuming you're the guy asking the question, stand on the side of the bike with the kickstand down. Use leverage by pulling on the further away secure parts of the bike. If you bike has passenger seat hand pegs those are perfect. I used the right handlebar in a locked position or the tank for my other hand.

But you know what'd be the easiest way to learn how, ask your friend who knows how to teach you, socially-awkward penguin anon.

Perhaps I misread you.
When I think 'up and onto the stand' I think centrestand, as a kickstand would already be 'on the stand'.

>>17647811
Well yeah, you have to lift it into the side stand before you can pivot it
