I've had my 1200 a year now. 1100 5 years before that. It's serviceable....I don't care for the new lid lock. I'd prefer something latching with a button than a wearable item. And airflow. I've only worn those 2 RFs since I've been riding but In the colder months I feel all the air coming In around the visor. It's so cold and dries the hell out of my eyes. Fits always been spot on for my head though and they do last. I never had problems with wear and tear after 5 years on my 1100. I may try a Schuberth after these 5 years are up.

Replaced the contact points, condensers, handlebars, levers, grips, throttle, battery, rectifier, and cleaned the right side carburetor. Revs to 10k, goes 100mph (which is terrifying on 45 year old tires) and now has a set of mirrors, not pictured.
All in all for less than 250 bucks so far I love it.

That's so fucking stupid. I really like the way the RC390 looks and supposedly it handles really well. Indeed, the RC390 looks fabulous imo and is the perfect size to actually have fun legally, unfortunately a sports bike doesn't fit into my budget/lifestyle. Shame also they got ride of the under-bike exhaust (assume that was emissions shit)

My fingers are crossed for the adventure version of the 390 that's supposedly coming. It could be the do-everything bike that justifies buying new for me, assuming it can actually into off-road.

I suspect a lot of that bad reputation for reliability is that KTM sells a lot of over-stressed dirt bikes that are meant to be rebuilt every X hours. Those things are unreliable by design (they trade reliability for lower weight and higher power).

The entire dirbike/MX line is solid now.

390 has an issue with brittle rims and a shit cooling fan.

690 still has rocker arm problems.

Up to 16 1190/1290s still have airbox issues ( no verdict on the 17s yet ) Fuel float that needs sanding and the ocasional fuel pump issue.

There will be outlier bikes but that is the commonly known ones.

Sorry for the tard questions. This dude has a similar setup, fender eliminator (so no rear cargo hooks) and no passenger pegs. Should I just run the straps straight around the tail? Seems if I try to run them anywhere along the frame a bag would just slide forward, and running it through the swingarms is just dumb.
