It did occur to me, riding on full sized wheels isn't what provides the feeling of a worse turning radius, per se. I remember on the scooter it feels easier to commit to a sharp low speed maneuver, and on a larger bike you need to focus on throttle and gaze more.

they are race bikes, they aren't meant to be comfortable

if you want something similar but bigger look at sport touring bikes like a gsxr1300 or a zx14 or fjr1300. these are pretty damn big bikes

I remember somebody said to compare it with the 300. Right now, 500f/r leftovers are both on sale for the price of a new 300. In addition, the difference in MPG between the two is negligible.
Topspeed isn't usually on my list of considerations, but the 300 tops ~90, 500 around 135. It matters in this case because both pTwins and singles kind've take a shit towards the very top of their rev range.

And when they say "all Japanese bikes reach 100k," they're talking about after major rebuilds. A Honda will do 100k on oil changes and the occasional blown fuse.
Yamaha a shit. They don't consider longevity as part of "reliability," and instead wave warranty claim numbers around.

Almost finished.

Fully rebuild from the ground up replacing everything but the castings. New fasteners, seals, o-rings, bearings, rods, pistons. If it was replaceable it got replaced.

Well they never got good results in racing. I'll concede that is probably more of a financial issue. They may be going cheaper now that the company is falling apart again and dealers are clearing inventory, but MSRP was about $19000. That's a fair bit more than any of the japanese liters. Plus most of the other newer superbikes have more electronic tech to set them apart.
