Why don´t I believe you?
>>
>>17425935
So I've had my license for about two months, and my sv650 for 1.5

I want to do trackdays but I'm concerned about like insurance and stuff, and wrecking my bike. The tracks near me don't open until october because Arizona is a hellhole and heatstroke is a problem, so it's not an immediate concern, but can any anons give me info about how insurance affects things on the track? I honestly have no idea.

Also, considering saving money to buy a shitty ninja 300 off craigslist, changing the rearsets and putting on clip ons and stuff, specifically for the track. Good idea or no?
>>
>>17426588
Get a track bike just for the track. Register it as non op and don't get insurance for it. Make sure it's cheap enough that if it ends up in little pieces you won't be too sad.

>>
>>17426652
Chicken strips automatically disqualify you from talking about being a good rider.
The only exceptions are chicken strips accompanied by scraped pegs.
>>
>>17426422

This makes me thing of that really short rally rider that won Dakar on a GS back in the day.

The guy literally had to mount his bike, kek, and still he rode it like a motherfucker.

For those who are interested, it is somewhere in here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwRp7m9lUqs

I'm too lazy to take a quick look through it to time stamp it, though. So there's that.

Is there any real reason to get a litre bike over a 600?
>>
>>17426300
Chicken strips don't mean shit. You can do corners just fine without having to lean over your bike to the max.

How fast do you go to do max lean?

>>
>>17426680
That is on the tube between the carburetor and the engine, btw.
>>
>>17426679
Found the guy who can't corner.

Max lean is max turning radius for a given speed. You don't have to go a certain speed to get to it, you're just a chickenshit and haven't actually had the balls to go properly fast.

>inb4 I have a sportbike and there's like 60 degrees of lean I can't hit that on public roads

>>
>>17426677
Not really. They're better for drag racing, and sometimes they have extra bits like electronic suspension. Power wise, it's realllyyy hard to use even all of the power a 600 gives you on the street.

Currently trying to go from a higher cc bike to a 600.
The 600 is actually faster, still going to lower my insurance because of the smaller number.
Now, do I want a 1000 of the same bike, yes. But the 600 would do me good, and it's much cheaper.
>>
>>17426736
>the 600 is actually faster
You're objectively wrong in every way, shape, and form.

>>
>>17426743
But it is.
It literally has more bhp and a higher top speed.
Not by much. But I'm also trying to go to a 10yo newer bike.
>>
What is the best liter bike and why is it the H2?
>>
>>17426717
>Here's some people not having chickenstrips under 100mph

I could also have no chicken strips if I leaned in the opposite direction of the turn.

Watch yammie he even goes into that type of fake chicken-stripping.

To turn at a tight angle you could do it by leaning your body instead of your bike, keeping it reasonably upright. If you needed it any tighter you could then lean the bike a bit more during the turn.
>>
>>17426714
Fucking amazing. Please ffs adjust your camera angle though. You cant even see the bike on the first corner.
>>
>>17426736
You want a litre bike for no other reason than having a litre bike. There is no objective reason to own one and it's probably way too powerful for your skill.
>>
>>17426747
Not a cruiser but not a supersport.
If I can I'm going to try to keep it along with the 600
>>
>>17426760

hey, I bought my first bike yesterday, the blue SV I was looking at. it's cute!
I want to ride it but don't have insurance yet and got up at 16:00 anyway so it's about to get dark.

do you guys roll with minimum liability, or more? pay up front, or monthly?
>>
>>17426760
No, but nice try.

Leaning body into the corner DOES increase cornerspeed for a given lean angle, however this also increases max lean angle. Therefore you're still a cuck if you have chicken strips.

Using all of your tire while leaning off gives max turning speed. People who lean off that can't use all their tire decided that they should waste time trying to be like rossi instead of actually learning their bike's capabilities and, as such, are fucking slowfags compared to anyone who isn't some dumb streetsquid who bought a cheap liter and putts around on highways all day.
>>
>>17426770
I want it cause the liter is faster.
And I can, and have, used the power before.

I have $500 000 liability, not likely you'd need more than that on a bike unless you run over a brain surgeons hands or something. I think minimum where I live is 250 000 so it's a bit over that.

I have comprehensive for theft and vandalism and shit, but no damage coverage because if I crash I'd just repair it myself instead of claim it and watch my insurance rate spike.

Just tested the bike after having changed the oil. Put it into all of it's gears to let the oil soak in.

Also tried some corners. Something weird happens when I lean , the bike seems to suddenly drop but there is no loss of traction (im guessing because I am not going fast at all) so what is that drop feeling?

They are renowned for being one of the worst dirt bikes ever built.
Have a good look into it, BMW thought they could re invent the wheel when they made that bike and the result was a horrid piece of shit that got them laughed out of the endurance world with so much embarrassment that they never even tried again.
>>
>>17427267
I got a cheap chinese knockoff from Amazon. They work pretty well as long as you're closish to eachother. Starts to get staticy at like 150m. Just wish they went louder because when you're doing 160km/h and trying to listen you pretty much have to duck behind the windscreen to hear what the other guy is saying.

They hook up to Sena's, but can't join a conference call thing of Sena's. So you can talk one on one but not have a 3 way+ voice call. If everybody has these cheep ones you can do like 6 or 8 people at once.

As an avid MV fag, the new F4s aren't """bad""" persay. the chassis and everything is actually really good as far as modern liters are concerned. the real issue comes in with the fueling, which is absolutely fucking godawful (someone please post the literbikes dyno) and the electronics which are primitive.

Other than that they're great bikes. Expect to have to do regular maintenance though because MV Agusta doesn't believe in threadlock.

I've bought a 450 of the same generation (literally the same bike minus 6mm bore, and goes for around the same price), rebuilt the top end, replaced all external bearings, and redone/upgraded all the lighting and wiring to make it roadworthy in the US for under $4k.
It was a bit of an exaggeration, I suppose. It's not technically a full rebuild and doesn't have 17" wheels but it's a ""racing"" dirt bike made fresh enough to trust way more than a husky, and can be ridden on the road if he wishes.
If i had skipped the lighting/electrical upgrades and not broken my clutch I probably could have got a set of meme wheels and still came in around $4k if I desired.

I must admit I've not ridden the husqvarna and can't say how well the KTM compares, but I wouldn't want to spend my money on a rare bike with possible parts availability issues.

I really don't understand why manufacturers nowadays seem to neglect front wheel aerodynamics. Do they really not make a difference? Or is it just trends and buyer behavior that prevent a return to better aerodynamics?

the saving in weight and material (read money) is far greater than the added aerodynamics

if you're gonna shell out that much money, just buy something else that you can try on instead of blindly ordering something online. with these hand made items, it's extremely difficult to say that one jacket or suit is gonna fit the same as any other one

But overall the polaris Indians are way better engineered in all ways.

it's clear you're a shit rider who has no use for a sportbike, let alone a 1000cc one.

They just copied some of the SV engine.

I've lived in Korea where there are a billion Daelim underbones used by all the delivery people. They seem to do the job.

But otherwise, even in Korea, Korean bikes aren't popular.
