not sure if this is a QTDDTOT question or not, forgive me g/o/ds

I'm 30 and about to get medically retired from the Army. I have nowhere near 14 years driving experience, nor however many miles that would imply. Sure, I got my license at 16 but I finished high school at 17 and was in the Army that summer. (lol rural blight, inb4 thank you for your cervix jokes)

>I was a barracks rat and walked or bicycled around post
>or deployed
>or living abroad where a car was unnecessary and more trouble that it's worth
>and later, in schools
>and for a while, in the DC area

so, I've owned some cars and logged some miles, but always econoboxes with 200000 miles and _small_ stick trucks

point being that as a retirement gift to myself I'm considering a 6 cylinder stick Accord Coupe since where I'm moving back to doesn't have Metro. I know it's not a proper go-fast-mobile, but I can throw people in the back, though that's not going to be often, and it has a "real" trunk. By real, I mean it's sealed off for open bottles of booze or firearms -- again, not apt to be often, but w00t 4th amendment

tl;dr: yay or nay?

thanks in advance guiz

>>
>>17394461
>very professional looking
Well, this ties into my primary question, and I don't want to sound like a total knuckle dragger ... but I am an enlisted infantryman :-p

A guy in my platoon way, way back had a 350Z and I didn't fawn over it or anything, but they're neat cars. However, to me, they seem like, uhhhh "kid cars?"

The main differences I can discern are RWD, the trunk doesn't seal off, it doesn't "really" seat rear passengers, and it has no safety rating. The last point will wreck my insurance cost.

I'm banking on the Z being drastically more fun, but again, I'm neither some Joe living in the barracks trying to impress girls off post, nor a 50 something business dick working in Arlington County. I'm moving back to BFE and just need a way to get around, without drawing too much attention to myself. Even the Accord feels gaudy, coming from the shit I'm used to.

Is this correct?
>Accord: grownup, sort of fun, practical
>370Z: actually fun, not at all practical, mid-life crisis car
>>
>>17394487
I'm seriously impressed by the potential of H22s. The BoostedBoiz one is making 700 horsepower now. The block and sleeves are stock I believe.
>>
>>17394500
That's pretty much it. I drove my friend's 350Z a few times. Despite their size, they're not very practical at all and they're very hard to see out of. No back seats at all, either. I think the Toyota GT86 would be a good in between choice. Has the practicality of the Accord (back seats, sealed trunk), while being a fun little RWD. Only downsides is it's lacking power and a lot of people aren't fans of the Subaru boxer engine.

Just got a 1989 honda prelude 4ws

>first time owning a honda
Any tips?
>>
>>17396352
I wish that were true.
Cars sort of depress me sometimes. The supra I'm going to look at on Wednesday was owned by a guy that passed away a few years ago. It saddens me to think about him driving and enjoying the car and all the places he took it.

I get weirdly sentimental though. There's an exhibit at the Art institute of Chicago where you take a piece of candy and it represents the artists boyfriend who died. I could never get myself to throw the wrapper away and instead just carry it around in my pocket.

The Eighth Gen sedan is the only full-sized Accord.

Every other generation starting with the CM model is mid-sized; everything before that is compact.
>>
>>17396387
Go apeshit on the corners to your heart's content.

It should be able to handle corners at 80mph.

Just do fluids and filters, rotate the tires, and it should run for a while.

I kinda feel sad that my grandmother can't drive for medical reasons, she's a better driver than most fucks even at her age, she at least knows I care for it and that it will be enjoyed long after she's gone.

C'mon, if my inferior CM5 can take those corners, there shouldn't be any excuse for a sporty coupe with four-wheel steering to not be able.

I still have a few other things to work out in the prelude. Sat for a /while/ before I got it

I doubt that, my CM5 is a DX with skinny ass 195 tires, I still swing it all over the place.
>>17396459
Oh nice, it's broken in now, mine is a little baby cause I drive a round trip of 2 miles a day to work. I'm sitting at 90 thousand, eight hundred and something.

I will drive this until it physically can't move.

Very sorry to hear that, man. It's tough dealing with it. Right now he won't drink any water but he did eat something which is good. Also got up to look out the window for a little bit and is now laying down some more. I can tell he really wants to run and play like he was doing a few weeks ago but whatever is in him is stopping him.

If it does get to the point of euthanizing, I might think about cremation so I can keep him with me along with his big red collar.

Might take him for a long ride in my hatch in a little bit. The weather is nice and cool out.

Picking up a set of 15x6 Honda Fit steelies to keep a low profile sleeper look while having decent grip.
Then I'm thinking of a b16 swap with an ls trans.
Thoughts on tinting just the rear for superior visibility but reduced headlights on my ass in my cabin at night?
>>
>>17396645
Fit steelies will help it not oversteer as much, even though I like the way VX wheels look, as for the tint, you'd have to go all around because the light will get in your side mirrors too.

I don't mind people modding their cars. I do mind it when they try to sell it after modding it

It definitely oversteers at times in the rain and it catches me off guard. 80% of my driving is on a curvy highway so I definitely need the grip. That's what I was thinking too, I was thinking 25% all around, but I don't know what that would look like

Don't rush this. My mother almost immediately replaced a dog that I liked a lot and that had bonded super tight with her. The replacement is a dog that doesn't know how to dog. I'm trying to treat Santa's Little Helper 2 well, but it's rough emotionally, and as a practical matter.

I have supportive things to say, but I'm still touchy thinking about Comrade Noel, Rest In Power.

This dude already lied to me once saying it's a GSR but the VIN says it's an LS (he says he doesn't know cuz he doesn't have Carfax)
I don't wanna get tricked and buy some base model Integra. The VIN shows no issues though and he's selling it for $1800 so I'm thinking of checking it out anyway. It's on 130000 miles. He says he took a picture of the engine stamp but I'm not so sure.
>>
>>17401993
don't buy it. it looks like shit
>>
>>17401993
Go look at it in person is the only way of telling or not. take it for a test drive
>>
>>17402014
What part of it looks like shit? I'm obviously skeptical of an Integra this cheap, but what stands out?
>>17402021
I don't wanna waste my time driving out there to get disappointed if it's just an LS. I don't know B engines well enough just to tell the difference by driving. What should I look for in a test drive?

Here's the dudes listing BTW

Look at the engine code. It's on the left side of the engine just below the header by the trans.

I'd still buy it if its not rusting out underneath and was just a stock LS since its priced pretty reasonably, its a plus if its an actual c1 though

Mugen NRs are rare expensive wheels. Solenoid is an easy cheap fix. A sub $2000 Integra with only those few things needed sounds like a good deal to be honest.

How much of a discount do you think I can get?

I'd like to pay 31k OTD with body mold, splash guard, wheel lock, trunk tray, and maybe the sport grille and interior illumination. Think I can get this offer by the weekend or when the 2018 gets released?
