>tfw I still have them boxed up and ready to go for whomever wants them

I apologize if I came off like an ass. I don't usually post here but I will occasionally whore my car because I rarely see any other EE wagons posted here. I'm in love with the little thing despite its glaring flaws.

I did end up finding a bumper from some guy down in GA who sold it to me for next to nothing aside from shipping. Only issues is a big crack on the top and a decent sized hole near the radiator vents or whatever they are near the middle of the bumper. The crack is bad enough I'll probably just end up drilling holes and doing a dorifto-esque stitch job on it but overall for about 140 dollars I came out pretty well.

Anon here that had posted a few times about buying a 1993 Honda Accord LX, 244k miles.

I've had the car for a few weeks now, haven't really been able to drive it since I am not comfortable taking it out that much right now, however so far I have replaced some important stuff.

>Distributor rotor + cap
>Spark plugs + ignition wire set
>Air filter
>oil
>oil filter
>windshield wiper blades

Still need to get the fuel filter installed, but I will have some more things coming in. Will have power steering back online soon enough, got a CV boot to replace. Probably gonna relocate the battery to the trunk as the previous owner didn't have a say in the battery, and his uncle who previously owned it before him, put in a huge battery meant for a V8, so it rubs on the inside of the hood.

Engine needs to be cleaned pretty badly, and a few oil leaks are present in the blocks, though thankfully it seems to just be seals. Gotta replace a few more things here and there, then gonna look into the brakes and suspension.

But all in all, it is already pretty nice.

Will post pics sometime soon, I'm trying to get a majority of the cosmetic stuff done before I take pictures.

>>17360806
Replacing the FPR for an adjustable one... I have a 72mm TB also so might as well use it with more fuel.
160 came from a dyno tune.
it has upgraded conrods and race bearings, piston rings in 2012.
As said it came out the factory with 160hp.

So I need to buy FPR, cam gears, thinking now of getting new valve seals and valve seats and getting a 3 degree job on the seats.
All installed and done in one job.

Also rocker cover gasket and grommets for the rocker cover due to a massive pissing waterfall of an oil leak.

>twf bank balance is below 9k
>tfw still need around £350 in parts and £600 in labour and another dyno tune on top of that.

Would I be wasting my time by building up a Honda Accord? Or should I just go buy a Prelude or an Integra?

And by building up, I mean engine swapping, forged internals, turbocharge, etc. I have plans to make about 300-400 HP on an 90's Accord but, not sure if it would be a waste of time or not.
>>
>>17373795
Depends. If you are going for race, I wouldn't build an accord or an integra. I'd build an EK or and EG. They're lighter, and have much more bang for buck.

If you are going for a daily with a lot of power... I'd go with an Accord. Preludes are nice, but the backseat is shit, and they're heavy for what they are. Integra would also be a good alternative.

If you're gonna go with an integra, I'd plan on doing an H2B swap. H22's are really cheap for the amount of power they make, and with some hot cams and exhaust and a bigger throttle body you'll make around 210 - 220whp.

For practicality purposes I prefer the Accord. I built my cb7, and I can say I've used donor parts off a lot of different other cars. Mainly the Prelude.

Pretty much everything that can be done to the Accord can be done to the Prelude. The Chassis are almost identical in that way.

The only difference that *really* matters is the Prelude chassis responds better to lowering than the Accord does. The Prelude inherently sits lower to the ground than the Accord, so the suspension geometry is designed as such. As a result, under lowering you get less negative camber. Given how SLA suspension is, you want your car to have maybe -.5 degrees and you'll be closer to that in a Prelude.

I can pretty much tell you, to build any F/H series that takes that kind of power is going to be almost damn near impossible. Turbo builds on 8psi make around 235 whp/235tq.

To double that, you'd have to run a significantly bigger turbo, hot cams, forged internals, higher pressure, tuned on E85. Then you'd be getting into drive ability issues.

I want to help, but you'll have to express your goals desires, handling characteristics you expect, power delivery, weight etc.
>>
>>17373851
Well okay I suppose 300-400 is a little high for what I have. I guess about 200-250 is closer to what I realistically could get. You're probably gonna think I'm a retard, but with this being my first car, I wanna make it a fun car.

I don't need a car as the town I live in is small enough that I can bike anywhere I need, however I want a car to have fun in.

That's pretty much all I can say. I mean it's a FWD 90's econobox Accord. I can't really say I want anything other than just a slightly funner version, you know?

For that power? Turbo.

No point in even forging shit. Just swap motors everytime it blows up unless it's a daily.

Realistically tho.

Get Koni yellows, ground control sleeves, and h&r springs. The Fat four Customs top hat extenders with a sway bar.

For the front 5 lug, do a 5th gen prelude 5 lug swap. It's more work than the odyssey/oasis 5 lug, but provides better geometry under lowering conditions. Then do the Fat four customs brembo acura RL quad piston caliper upgrade and SS brake lines all the way around with the Cb7 EX master cyl and a 40/40 prop valve from a teggy.

for a transmission if you go turbo, i'd say keep the stock transmission, except but a LSD in it, and put 7.5" wides on it. And you're set.

I was definitely a poorfag basement dweller for a while. Grew out of that phase, turned into a businessfag and put my monthly surplus of shekels into the all motor meme. James Bond tier mods like retractable license plates and laser beam headlights don't make my shitbox any faster

Looking to get an Accord.

Should I get the '17 Touring or wait for more info on the 10th gen accord?

Don't want CVT, turbo, or halogen projectors. CVT and turbo don't last that long right?
>>
>>17378872
Had it for a while. Can't remember when I got it. Feels a lot better than the stock one. Only paid $20 from someone local.

Got it almost exactly a year ago. It's held up great for a replica knob. I expected the text to be worn off but it still looks like the day I bought it.

There's just not much to break on them. I shelled out cash for one from King Motorsports because work was going well.
>>
>>17378969
Yeah if I got another I'd most likely get the real one but I can't even tell this isn't real. I only know because the guy told me. kek

That one looks pretty sweet.
>>
>>17378910
Wait for more info on the 10th gen and then get the '17 touring when they go on sale since they'll want to get rid of the current gen when the tenth one comes out. They both can last long if maintained properly and not beaten on 24/7
>>
I'm not sure what the outside is made of, and everything that came with it is in japanese, but it feels hard and smooth like glass.
>>
>>17379072
>>17379006
Oops.
>>
>>17379072
Neat. Mine has a matte finish and is technically three pieces. The top half can unscrew and that middle ring can come off.
>>
>>17379090
Was it supposed to be modular or something?
>>
>>17379130
Maybe. I can't even find it online. I assume you could buy other rings to put on it? All the Mugen style knobs I find don't match this one so I guess it's out of production.
>>
>>17379143
Might be a random knock-off with the Mugen name on it. The only five speed ones I've seen are one piece aluminum or that weird barrel shaped one.
>>
>>17359005
DC5 would be more comfy than a DC2 but I like the DC2s better personally, but either would be fine. DC2 has double wishbone all around and is lighter too. DC5 would be slightly faster in a straight line.

The problem is finding a GS-R that isn't obscenely overpriced or modded to hell. RSX-S are easier to find.
>>
>>17368590
Take it to a paintless dent repair place and see what they say. Probably a long shot but new cars have insanely thin sheet metal and you'd be surprised what they can do.
>>
>>17369165
Looks normal to me.
>>
>>17378312
So you basically meant the FPR is no way yo make power? Not everything else.

I did listen and did more research and yeah, I have not ordered one, you saved me £150.
Which is good because they quoted me £600 to fit everything and do the 3 degree.

5 fuckin' weeks though to get the thing booked in.

After this is all done I'm guna find or build a b18c bottom end. They are not cheap or easy to find in the UK.

Hey /hg/ I got a question
http://www.kijiji.ca/v-autos-camions/ville-de-montreal/honda-civic-dx-hatchback/1273424232?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true
Looks pretty clean but it's auto. I'd wanna swap out the stock engine for a B16 or something anyway and was wondering if I did that would I need to change the transmission too? If not how easy is a transmission swap?
>>
>>17379276
Most likely that, then try the ball method like the other guy said.
>>
>>17382300
Yeah you'll need the appropriate B series transmission to go with it. That current one will only bolt up to other D series engines.

There's no collar, that's just part of the shift knob. Got that knob today. The original boot was loose without the original knob so it flopped up and down and I decided to make my own with a tighter tolerance.
>>
>>17382952
Oh I mean the OEM usually has a collar on it.

its going to be slower than paint drying though. I have the hrv which has the old 1.8. Its no mover but its small so it works..How will a smaller engine be any use in this thing. ofc its probably re-tweaked and more powerful than mine since the one I have is prehistoric. Im still waiting for honduh to put something out there to compete with the 370z / genesis/ enter generic Japanese sport car here.
