I liked it so much that I wanted to take a pic of my yota in a parking garage. I did do a couple skidz and I listened to my bov with WOT bursts in the parking garage it sounded awesome, recording it on camera can't compare unless it's not moving with the car (wind noise). Too bad there were too many people parked so I had to go to a corner all the way up at the top. I can only post it if the thread reaches beyond page 7.

They share the same chassis (Cressida, chaser, mark II). The lights, grill, bumper, hood, all bolts on. The fenders in the Cressida are wider though so there will be a gap at the corner unless you modify it.

My waiting may have paid off as I just saw this when I checked Craigslist today. Only problem is I don't know shit about working on cars and the seller doesn't provide much information. But I still figured I'd give it a shot. I think I'm willing to gamble $500-1000 ($500 base price + towing and whatever parts I may need for repairs) on the chance to own my very own meme car.

I thought of that but it has the GT-S Twin Cam sticker on the door. I'd be fucking pissed if I drove there just to find out that was added by the owner though. That's why I'd ask for more pictures before I even bothered to go look.

Picked up this little guy a while ago, previous owner rebuilt everything then ran it out of oil 5k miles into a new motor. Good deal for me and I'm just about ready to get another new motor put it in. Came with these Buddy Club wheels that seem to have been painted. the difference is the bearings which were switched to metal but sadly it still happens. I hear new engine/tranny mounts help (how? I have no idea exactly, maybe excessive movement)

there's also the weird debate about there's no such thing as a C50 tranny, some guys use it interchangeably with early C52 models. despite all that weird shit, just change the tranny oil periodically lol

Congrats on getting them, you should post a pic of them

For the switch, is it aftermarket? The OEM switch I have has some very light backlighting behind it without the small light bar on the bottom, but it might just be an older version. BUT the fog light symbol faces the same way as yours does, with the symbol pointing to the left. So I would say that it's in correctly. Pro tip though, the switches are completely modular, so you can flip it upside down if you want if that would be more aesthetically pleasing to you.

I'm guessing the switch is technically aftermarket, the kit is "OEM style" so that's probably why my switch is so bright. I just wanted to make sure I didn't put it in upside down kek. We both have a 2012 so my switch shouldn't be different from yours. Either way, it worked out pretty well so I'm happy

I don't see too many tC's that color, it looks pretty great especially with the fog light addition. Unfortunately I haven't been in these threads as much since desert internet is literally dial up speed. How was the install for them? Did they take long?

I'm thinking I might get the aftermarket headlights they make for the tC2, but I can't decide because I actually really like the stock look too.

Shit friendo, you should sand that hood down some around where the clear coat is starting to go. Between sanding and sealing it again to prevent rust it wouldn't be that expensive and maybe would improve the look slightly.

I wanted the cement gray color like yours but I couldn't find any manual ones. The nautical blue has really grown on me though.
The install was conceptually easy; put wires through firewall, connect lights, connect switch, connect battery and ground it. The shitty part was physically putting it together. I had to remove the bumper and the firewall was behind the intake and my car was still hot because the garage was closing soon so I kept burning myself on the head or the fuel lines.
Also I was only looking at the left fog light when I was testing it to see if I connected everything properly and it wouldn't light up. I assumed I was doing something wrong but the kit just came with a broken bulb. The right one was lighting up no problem! Replaced the bulb (15 fucking dollars btw). The last issue was I got a CEL and my traction control was stuck off so I had to ask a friend of mine to help me with that but it was a quick fix with the computer plug-in.

Also are you military? What branch and job? I'm on a Navy scholarship, kinda wish I joined the army so I could get those desert deployments.

I live in the city with pretty shitty traffic though so I deal with the autotragic. The install doesn't sound too bad, it definitely could've been worse. Thankfully for the most part our cars only have a few pieces and aren't too difficult to play with. The broken bulb is shitty. I'm thinking I might put HID's in the fogs soon because I don't want to blind people with normal HID headlights at night but I do some pretty dark driving down back roads sometimes and the extra light would be nice.

I'm in the chair Force, I do weather operations. Pays for college and I'm a certified meteorologist now so I can't complain.

Looking at buying a Toyota corolla 1997 for 4k tomorrow. It has 64k miles and in good condition. No wrecks. Is it a good price?
>>
>>17413581
Only 64k miles?

As long as it has a clean car fax and no glaring problems I would go for it. Definitely try to talk them down but if it's only 64k miles in 20 years I'm gonna assume it was an old persons car which means more than likely it was driven fairly easily throughout its life span and probably had scheduled dealer recomended maintenance.

Have the opportunity to grab 1987 one of these as a project (dont think its 4wd tho) , how easy is it to get parts for these guys?

If it's the aesthetics you're going for, buy it and when shit breaks just convert it to more modern shit. I did that for my old Subaru GL hatch, it has suspension out of a forester.

i just bought a 77' Celica with a rebuilt 22R for $1500

how bad did i fuck up?
>>
>>17427851
Not that bad. Need pics to ascertain damages.
>>
>>17427864
i didn't snap pics. he's delivering tomorrow.

it seemed pretty mechanically sound. everything that needed to work, worked. no big dents anywhere. the dash and center console were fucked. he mentioned the tach didn't work, and when i looked at the block i could see the sensor wasn't hooked up. a rebuild of the engine was obviously done but whoever did it didn't fabricate a custom flywheel cover and the teeth are exposed. revved fine with no weird vibrations, shifted the same.

carrier bearing seems intact. oil looked good. 2 quarter sized rust holes in the trunk. surface rust in the trunk. no squeeks or weird noises from the bushings or steering. no rust that i could see underneath because everything had a black coat of dirt/oil. could see where the new downpipes from the manifold were welded into the new exhaust.

/tg/, this is Morrigan. My 99 Corolla CE. She has 230k miles under her belt, has been through numerous repairs and renovations, and probably won't be with us for much longer. We've had her since 2003 and she's finally reaching the end of her life. Every month, something new needs to be fixed or replaced, and I can't afford to keep her going. So before I get rid of her at the end of summer, I want to honor her by requesting that she be added to the montage please.

Not up for debate. I'll be keeping them, but I don't enjoy the way the triangles look.

These wheels look nice when cleaned up, and I think they'll look decent on the car. Just not sure of color.

How much would it be for me to buy a turbo 2jz + trans for an engine swap.

Just a ballpark. Weighing my options.
>>
So, I'm just looking for a commuter car, and hopefully one that'll last more than a year. I've been looking at Camrys as per the advice of the sticky, and after looking around for a while, I found a 97 Camry with 84k miles on it for $2500. According to the KBB, it's worth $2000 in excellent condition. Even if everything runs great after a test drive, should I still try knocking it down if that's what the blue book says?

https://boulder.craigslist.org/cto/6192326959.html
>>
>>17433279
That's awesome. 2500 is a good price for how it looks. Try to take it down, but 2500 is fine.
>>
>>17433266
new transs are expensive AF. 2jz is not a very good engine either. Just find some other turbo crate engine. id go for a 13b Turbo
>>
>>17433306
Honestly, I might not even try to talk them down since they literally put up the ad just today and it seems like a pretty good deal. If they held out for maybe just a few hours, they could probably get the price they wanted. Hearing that it looks good definitely reassures me that I've found a deal though. Just gotta take it for a run now.
>>
>>17433266
About 2-4k for a 2jzgte with auto trans. Another 2k for an R154 five speed.
>>
>>17433161
Get some TOM's wheels, I think there's a couple sets on ebay right now. 13" though but they're cool.

Same as the AE101, but with the 7A-FE, right?

Next week I'll get a few quotes for the bodywork that needs to be done on this one. And after I'm back from vacation, I'll get that done. At first I wanted to get the test pipe for the cat delete, but I changed my mind.

Test drove a 3rd Gen MR2, it was loads of fun but the suspension was alittle worn, was involved in a collision of somesort but the point and throttle feel was amazing, too expensive for me though, wasn't too sure how much damage the pre cat shards have done before they were removed.

I came to the conclusion that I've spent alot repairing and replacing things that broke in my car, she runs like a top now, so I might aswell take care of my rust now and enjoy her even more.

The MR2 will come after I complete the bodywork.
