Legally speaking, a cop that doesn't give you a ticket for speeding is not doing his job and could be easily reasoned as a bad upholder of the law.

I think they were forced to pay the fine anyway, but this particular loveable bastard brought a lawsuit against the city, alleging that they had denied him his right to face his accuser in a court of law, and sued to have the city remove all speed cameras.

He won. The crazy bastard won, and Cleveland Muni had to deactivate every speed and red-light camera in the city.

Germany is better than US speed limits yes, but I hear more often about deadly accidents in your country than in mine.
Also, 100 km/h three-lane is often better than 130 km/h two-line if you're ok with speeding in the first one. Highway to my work alternates between those two by closing a lane outside rush hour. According to my gps I get 110-120 average when it's 3-lane and 90-100 avg when it's 2-lane. Probably because shitboxes stay in middle lane and keep clear of the fast lane.

just was a stupid 17 year old kid with no concept of repercussions for my actions. stupid shit like doing brake stands in the high school parking lot (which was directly adjacent to the police station) in my 81 camaro. one time i got 3 separate tickets in a day. another time i got a ticket for passing a riced out civic in my old beefed up el camino over a double yellow directly in front a speed trap i didnt see. just basically being a retard. over and over again.

actually now that i think about it (was a while ago), i got 11 tickets in my first year of having a license at 16-17. i had to go to driver retraining and they took my license away for a year. at 18 or 19 i got it back, knowing that i couldnt get a single ticket for like 3 more years. (in MA habitual traffic offender law is 12 tickets in 5 years and you lose it for 4). so with only a few months left to go after driving like a grandma for years i got pulled over being an idiot with my friends and that was that.

i didnt really care, i drove the entire 5 years anyway with no license, insurance, registration, etc. printed out my own inspection stickers on my computer and stole registration tags from the junkyard. only got caught once and thats just a $300 fine and whatever the tow cost. then when it was time to get it back i had to do a weekend retreat in some cult retreat in the woods to teach me how to not be a piece of shit, and when that was done they surprised me with a mandatory sentence for something like 6-12 'aftercare' sessions with a private (but state-approved) shrink. they said i needed serious anger management counseling the fucking cunts. i almost fucking burned that place down.

now im an upstanding tax-paying member of society and save most of the crazy driving for the race track. most, not all. ive certainly deserved tickets since getting my license back so i cant really complain about this relatively minor one. im more mad at myself than anything, but whatever.
