Keep the original handlebars, put them back on prior to selling the bike (or at least offer to do it).

Save the originals and don't do any irreversible mods :)

I don't see how the handling would change. If anything, I've always heard that it's easier to handle in the corners. But more than anything, I like supersport positioning, but don't have a supersport.

Why don't you get a bike that was designed for that riding position then? The handlebars aren't the only factor you know, you'd also want rearset footpegs, adjust the shift lever and brake lever...

something from mid to end 90s, certainly nothing with EFI.

the Suzuki GSF600 is pretty simple, cheap, reliable and reasonably powerful.

Someone posted a link to this in the last thread. There are some genuine clips where the car or truck didn't signal or change lanes properly, but a lot of these just show lane splitting in burgerland/uncongested traffic and going way over the speed limit. When changing lanes people aren't looking for anything going +30 mph faster than them coming up, let alone a bike.

I have a 14mm fuhgeddaboudit kryptonite chain/lock for 2 ninja 300s. Would chaining the two rear wheels together (High on the wheel and taut) be a good theft deterrant? It's nice not to worry about it, but once you get into the habit of just stopping every 50-80 miles to stretch your legs and top off you pretty much forget about it.

The only time I really wished I had a bigger tank was going across Utah / Nevada. A couple of 1 liter fuel bottles in a backpack would have solved that problem, though.

And here's an after. I spent a good week polishing a turd.

Everything is alright mechanical, The adhesive is almost as old as I am, and it was a real bitch to get off. Only De-Solve-It would make a dent in it. and i still had to scrape it off with a credit card and later a blank CD when the card came apart. And of fucking course desolveit is impossible to find except on amazon. You'd think it was just goo-gone.

I put a wrap over the part where it was laid down, and it diddn't go on as well as i'd hoped. It's only a quick fix before a full paint job.

Dr650- y/n?
1999, 19k miles, lots of extras on it, $2k

don't buy it so i can buy it
>>
>>17254462

Do it.

That's a fair deal, looks like the bike is in good shape.

What's with theleft side mirror though? Is it a right side mirror mounted on the wrong side.

I've got a ninja 300 with a ground down clutch/kickstand/bent handlebar/bent gearshifter that I want to get rid of

Is it worth the effort to order off a bunch of new mechanical parts and replace them (looking at about 250-300 USD) or just selling the bike as it is?

Would you even consider a bike that has clear indicators of being lowsided? I really don't want to put in any more money into this thing, because I can't fully erase the damage (fairings are still a little scratched)
>>
>>17254502

I would consider a bike that has been down, but not a 300.

That's a beginners bike, and a beginner isn't doing to want a bike that has that many things that need to be fixed right off the bat.

Just fix it up before you sell it anon.

Nothing needs to be fixed, biek is in perfect running condition and still looks great, its just stuff like this and a scratched kickstand/bent handlebar that they'd have to deal with.

With the googles and all...
Dude... The cringe...

wheres the best place to get tools to work on my bike (like a vice, and shit). I don't have any access to a hardware lab or anything. What are some creative ideas short of buying from home depot and returning?
>>
>>17254538

Bent bars and bent shifter are both more than cosmetic issues. Sounds like the clutch lever has some problems, too.

Where are you and how much are you going to try and sell it for?

Why the fuck would you consider a FZ a meme bike ?

Look at this 150hp bitch, does she look like a GS500 ? Hahaha

It really is just cosmetic. The bent handlebar is bent at like only a couple degrees, barely noticeable but I had a mechanic check it out and tell me that nothing with the steering was fucked, just the handlebar from the drop.

Clutch and scratches look like this, no functional issues. Kickstand is scratched similarly, no structural integrity compromised. Shifter was bent out with a hammer and works as intended, but obviously has been mangled visibly

I'm in Canada, looking to get at least 3000 canadabux for it ($2200 freedomdollars)
>>
>>17254368
>>17254385
That's a Katana, right?
>>
>>17254575

Use a sharpie or some paint to black out the scratched levers and shit at least.

I don't know what the Canadian market is like, but I wouldn't pay $2200 for that here in Arizona. Maybe if all those little issues were fixed, but I would try and jew you down to like $1800 tops.
>>
>>17254593
Just for reference, if this bike, as it were, had 0 crash or scratch damage whatsoever, I know I could easily get $4200 CAD ($3100 usd) for it
>>
>>17254598

Then do whatever you want. You're obviously too lazy and jewish to effort into fixing it, so just sell it. Why are you even asking?
>>
>>17254557
I want the 10 so bad.
>>
>>17254612
Not too lazy really, I just want to get rid of this so I have the funds to buy another bike before I leave the cunt. The parts I'd have to order will take fucking forever to get here since they come from HK
>>
>>17254576
yep. katana 600.

Previous owner was a real moron. Put GSX-R stickers all over it. Cheap ugly purple ones.
>>
>>17254780
Weird to see how one looks like normally, have been riding with FKG for the last few days and his Katana 600 looks way different now.

Just got back from another touge run
>STILL haven't touched my knee to the pavement while cornering on a street bike
I should just kill myself
>>
>>17255119
>he touches knee to the ground
knee dragging is a maymay for gumbies.
People drag their knees without even using all of their tyres, it is like the only reason they do it is specifically to "drag knee" its not even helping them corner faster...

Whattttt, I would have thought the new husqvarna 701 would be just as reliable as a DRZ given you maintain the bike.

Gonna try getting my first bike, after my I get my permit but I'm not sure what kind of starter bike I want. Deciding between the KTM 390 and a Ninja 300. Anyone got some advice?
>>
>>17256529
go to the new thread, for starters
/dbt/ will never recommend the 250/300cc sportbikes to beginners from what i've seen, though there are some people here who own them and enjoy them (they are not necessarily beginners).

between those two, the more common one is the ninja by far. you ARE buying used right? talking about buying a new 300 to start one sets /dbt/ off nearly as bad as cruiserposting and adventureposting. the ktm is the more highway capable of the two, but also more expensive.

suggestions you will hear: SV650/SV650S (loudly and often), GS500 (not entirely sure if meme yet), DRZ650 and WR250. For some reason, Ninja 650 is usually forgotten even though it's pretty identical to the SV.
