Riding home Lane splitting behind another biker
Prius starts merging into as I attempt to pass.
Slow down
Honk at him like WTF.
He is basically over the double yellow lines either intentionally blocking me or being a dumbass.
Continue honking and he doesn't move.
Car on right gives me space to pass.

The bureacracy here is a holdover from the communist era. They force you to interact with and submit to gov't procedure in order to train you to accept big brother's hand all up in your shit.

But the incompetence and lack of accountability you experienced sounds familiar.

As far as coffee goes, that's like asking what type of coke you snorted in Colombia; it's ubiquitous and largely undifferentiated.

They're fine. If it fits, wear it. If it doesn't fit, the return it. Find your local shop and at least try on some lids before ordering something. Buy from the local place if they are cool or online if they aren't.

>>16996308
You'll appreciate the skills you learned on the slow bike later when you upgrade to something with some more oomph.

If i ride every work day of the year, is replacing the helmet every 2 years unreasonable?
>>
>>16996326
Why would you replace it that often? They last 6-7 years easy.
>>
>>16996326
Depends on how much dosh you have bruv
I've had the same helmet for four years, started thinking about replacing it 6 months ago, will probably replace it 6 months from now. No more than 5 years is generally recommended for safety reasons.

kind of regretting not getting a full face, but I'm just joining the club, so I don't know what features I'll really make use of.
Shoulda gone home to think about it and ordered from fortnine.

Anyway, it if lasts for five years then at least I'll have time to look for a good replacement, and by then I'll know what I need.

If you guy's say it's a good helmet, then it couldn't come higher recommended.
>>
>>16996326
Depends on the helmet. I typically stick to ones that are closeouts from the previous year, so their life expectancy has about four years left. For the price/time, it's a better deal than the meme of $400+ helmets. The Bell RS-1 was a fucking champion for $160. Shame they dropped it in favor of the new three tiers of the Star.

>>16996349
HJC makes decent lids. I wouldn't be concerned about it being modular. You'd have to fuck up pretty bad for that to matter.

What really matters when it comes to helmets is that it fits properly.

My girlfriend had the same helmet and it was pretty good. Super comfy and quiet, but the shell is a little big, felt like a bobble head with it on. Interior visor mechanism is neat too.
>>
>>16996427
is it a good choice after riding a gs500
>>

I have a big head, so it fits.

>>
>>16996435
>falling for the slip-on jew
>>

Half-fairing looks best imo.
It's basically just looks, riding wise it makes no big difference.
Though maintenance might be slightly more complicated with fairings.

A friend of mine and me both have it, his spring has fucked up after a year or so, mine still works fine 6 months in.

DPD, DHL and UPS are all complete and utter shit.
Don't deliver to neighbours (even if you tell them to), come at the most retarded time, never when they tell you to.

PostNL is the only good one, never really had problems with them. Only when they decided they didn't want to deliver the package at my neighbours and tried it 3x at my house, before bringing it to the postal office. Took entire week before I got the package, while it was next day delivery.

Hey /dbt/
im getting a new bike and since im a retro faggot i dwindled it down to 2 choices

the ducati scrambler sixty2 or the XSR 900

im coming from a ninja 650 and havent rode in over 2 months and im itching to get back in

right now im thinking the sixty2 is too little while the XSR is too much, any opinions?

also theyre the same price in my market and the XSR 700 is not sold here sadly.
the scrambler icon is singificantly more expenaive too btw

my neighbour dosen't like that I idle my bike for 3minutes outside their bedroom window in the morning.

stealership insisted that I let the engine get warm by turning it on for 3-5 minutes before my trips during the break in period of 1000km

can I hop on the bike and ride down the street and let it idle there, or do I need to push it down the street?

its usually 6C / 42F when I start the bike in the morning.

I got my first time service in about 2 weeks so its not something permanent.

elaborate what? The scrambler is italian "reliability" combined with a high price and the inability to do anything a scrambler is supposed to be doing. Its the worst kind of a fashion-accessory bike.

The XSR 900 of course is just a slightly improved MT-09 with proper tires, suspension and a powerful engine. Its really just a naked sports-bike with a round headlight and a little old-school looking tank.

Some basic things to look at, (I thought there was a Pastebin or a sticky image that dealt with this)

>Cold start
>Tires
>Fork seals
>Scratches, dents, etc.
>How much chain adjustment is left
>Signals, lights, horn, etc.
>Even wear on brake discs (no grooves or anything)
>Check the condition of any hoses, cuts and cracking isn't good
>Look for rust
>Is there any play/wobble with either of the wheels
>Play/wobble with the bars, do they turn smoothly
>Does the throttle snap closed when you let go of it?
>Is it safetied
>Title
>Manual
>Service records are a definite plus

Leaning is not countersteering. With countersteering you consciously turn the bars to lean the bike over faster.

The reason it's called countersteering is that turning the bars causes the bike to lean, and therefore turn, the opposite way than it would in slow-speed maneuvers.

The simplest way to understand it is to try it. get in the middle lane of a highway (no traffic obviously) and turn the bars very slightly, the bike will sharply change lanes.
>>
>>16997974
No idea. How do you turn the ignition on without the key?
>>
>>16997974
No.

Anal proning is the only way
>>
>>16997987
You can insert any flat object into the key hole (doesn't even really need to go in, just so there's enough leverage) and turn, and it just turns on. Luckily for me the bike is its own insurance because no one wants to steal a beat up 250cc bike

>>16997983

hi I accidentally touched the ecu enclosure with the handle of my ratchet a few weeks ago and a spark erupted. the bike turns off randomly now mid ride, pretty much completely randomly. Doesn't matter if I'm revving up or down or what lean angle or movement of wires in the lock cylinder (which I've dealt with before 3 times on this bike). The bike's CEL comes on and off randomly throwing 14 codes and the bike runs like shit while this light is on - but it turns back off randomly and the bike runs fucking great. The motor runs ok with the cel but the injectors run shitty at higher speeds and jerky acceleration - but they do open real big and spray a lot of fuel actually giving me better acceleration from 90 to 140 while the CEL is on

do you guys think I need a new ECU
what can I do to save money? I'm thinking of taking out the ecu and checking if I can fix the short myself I'm pretty handy with a iron and circuit board

It it really? Because I consider it vastly easier than working on cars. On bikes almost everything is easily accessible and they basically work like bicycles with extra engines. On cars everything is buried under other things and nothing is even remotely similar to other machinery. Weird steering and suspension setups, weird drivetrain parts, endless electronics. It's all horrible.
>>
>>16998189
Maybe it uses the same engine/ecu as another bike.

Which bike?
>>
>>16998182
Well yeah, but because my bikes are rare enough in general and especially in my shithole, they are dirty and unmaintained, you can't find original parts or they are expensive as fuck. Lack of a proper workspace and cold weather also doesn't help

Only thing tricky about old motorcycles is if they have 4 carbs. Syncing them can be a pain in the ass.

But then I hate carbs in general.

It's not inherent, they just commonly do it to squeeze all they can out of the tiny engines.

600, not nerfed (like most on sale here). Got all original parts for it too, only damage is light scratching on the front fender around the mounting bolts.

~93kkm on the odo, got it for 1800€

Loving it, got around 500km on it before our temperatures dipped here and now I can't ride (comfortably at least). Can't wait for sunny weather.

Thinking about ordering a new headlight housing and putting in a HID projector along with xenon bulbs, since the original headlight housing is kind of weak.

The Four Rules.
>The gun is always loaded
>Never point the gun at anything you are not willing to destroy.
>Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target (and you have made the decision to shoot).
>Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.

>The gun was loaded with HP and FMJ
>I was willing to destroy my self.

Two reasons; First Hollow points don`t run that well in my FEG Hi-Power. More importantly I only have ten because I am too poor to buy more. I had to load all my own rounds to save money.

So I keep one Speer Gold Dot in the chamber and thirteen 124ge CMJs backed by 5grains of MP 200.

My two spare mags have a Speer first then 12 Handloads.

She didn't want me to have a scooter, she says they're dangerous (I know they are) and that her uncle died on a motorcycle.

So I drove it for the first few times today, it's great, just really heavy. I have trouble turning. Part of me wishes I had gotten a smaller model (150cc's), and I will be on the lookout for one.
