I work on cars for much more discerning customers (the kind of people that get upset when they see a mark from a wrench on a bolt in the engine bay, safe to say they would not accept a sawzall to their quarter or high school exhaust welds). I rarely have complaints, and rarely make mistakes. Same can be said for thousands of other people in the industry. If Nakai showed up to work at any fab shop and started doing that kind of work he would be fired immediately. There are people with a few months experience doing vastly better work. Before you get upset this isn't to say he's incompetent at running a business, he is obviously good at social media marketing, but as far as his actual skills go he wouldn't even make a decent apprentice at a low end shop. Doing quality work is pretty much irrelevant to "tuning houses" anyway, there has never been a long term successful operation (except ones that have been absorbed into manufacturers like Alpina). It's always a flash in the pan, so make your money and move on. Even the biggest names like Saleen with great connections to the manufacturer have been shown to actually lose money in the grand scheme. If Nakai is still around for another 5 years it will be because he is making money off merchandise, not car builds.

Singer doesnt churn out that many cars and most of their cars are for old dudes that only drive it every other weekend.
