I've owned 4 bikes. My favorite one is my fz6, is just killer. I haven't hated any of the bikes I've owned. The one I liked the least was my vt700c, but it was a good bike.

My sl125 was the biggest piece of shit but it was my first bike so I cant hate it. The one I miss the most though is my cx500. I wish I could have kept it and modded it to shit or something, that bike was really cool and I have dinner great memories in the saddle of that thing.

That sounds like a personal problem. My CX I rode for like 12-14k miles in 10 months, and I beat the fuck out of it and kept up with supersports (when the riders weren't that good) all for 800 dollars. Was cash as fuck.

I really loved my cb750 nighthawk, it even got me laid a few times. Most hated bike would be a gs500 that i bought at an auction for $120 back in 2011 with 1200 miles. It was pretty clean and almost new but i felt like shit compared to my other bikes so i cleaned the carbs and sold it to some cuck for $1200. I currently own a vfr800 and its one of my favorite bikes, the only thing i would complain about its the weight and mpgs but i have a cb250 as commuter so i dont really care.

Owned 4 bikes. Only one I have sold was the CRF150F because I had long outgrown it. It was fun for riding around the yard to practice wheelies and test how hard I can corner on a grassy field, so I kind of miss it.
The others are all great in their own way.
The F4i is a nice street bike. The 450EXC is just stunning in how responsive the engine is (finally rebuilding it after letting it sit for half a year). The KLX is just a nice do-it-all bike and all the time I've spent on it has allowed me to build up great confidence in it.

I've just started on a SV650 but I'm already considering future possibilities (it could very well be 2 years from now) and the F4i seems more than a possibility considering how cheap it is but I wonder how does it compare with a more modern and sporty 600, like your R6 (I like the Daytona).

What's your opinion, how do they compare? Is the F4i much slower? Handling? Comfort?
I fucking wish I could try all the motorcycles.

My experience wont be a proper representation since the PO of the f4i did some stuff to it but here it goes.

Power wise they are very similar. The only difference I can tell is that the R6 really wants to wheelie in first past 9k rpm. Never really had that with my f4i, which isnt to say it was slow, just possibly not as quick. That being said, it's an 04 bike compared to a 2016.

Handling was great, it didn't have as quick of a turn in as my R6 but it felt very planted and secure when you leaned it over. I think f4i's have a very good weight distribution which is why stunters really like them. Equipped with a good set of tires, it will handle like any supersport.

Comfort however was atrocious. In fact it's why I sold the bike. I would typically slide forward in the saddle, my penis getting jammed between my thigh and the fuel tank. Any bump would further extract my peen my from it's protective foreskin sheath. Before mounting the bike I would tuck my penis as far down between my legs as possible to avoid this. The bike also had after market clip ons. These would vibrate like crazy at average highway cruising speeds, thus making your hands number after about 15min of highway riding.

Brakes were good and had great feedback but my R6 is better. If I had to rate brakes R6 > F4i > FZ09.

Overall, I bought the F4i for $3k and put 20k miles on it without any issues. It was a fantastic motorcycle for the price and it even tried to jerk me off sometimes. That being said a new sport bike will be superior, but not by much desu. If I could afford to buy another CBR600 F4i I would in a heartbeat and make it my trackbike.

So I just rode a motorcycle for the first time in my life. Because I had a general understanding of how to ride, all I had to do was figure out where the clutch grabbed and I was on my way. My god it was the best feeling I've felt in a long time.

It was a 79 Kawasaki 650 bobber/cafe hybrid with a kickstart. She was my first, and ill never forget it.

Now as soon as I take the safety course and get my endorsement, I need an old Japanese 4 cylinder bike.

I have a similar problem on the SV, except I do the opposite, I put my penis as high as possible when I mount the bike, still downhill my pants cut my balls like crazy (I still don't have protective pants, hope leather pants will be better with this).

How tall are you? I'm 170cm, maybe it will be more comfortable for me.
Do you think it's fair to go from an SV to a F4i or another 600 supersport? In due time.

I saw a 2002 F4i for €1500 yesterday, seems like it's supereasy to get one for about €2000, which is what I paid for my SV lol.

Dayum, I wish I had friends with sumo, enduro and sportbikes who would let me test ride their bikes. What's the easiest way to test ride bikes? I wanna know what it feels like to ride other kinds of bikes, I'm new and I still don't know what kind of bike I enjoy the most.

I'm like 5'9 and the R6 has been the most comfortable bike for me by far. My friend who is a bit shorter at about your height 5'6 said he got an instant leg cramp when he rode the R6. I hear that many shorter riders prefer the seating position of the GSXR but I felt it was too cramped when I sat on it.

The way I tried out different bike is just buying and selling em lol. I have gone through 9 bikes, I would buy em, ride em, sell em. Usually didnt lose money either. I think it may be a bit easier for me tho because I live in Los Angeles and there's so many different kinds of bikes here

Interesting.

Hey anons,

About to get me one of these in a few weeks - It's a 1999 CB600F Hornet, low mileage (~40kkm), good price, not riced. My first, really own bike.

I have a license to drive any size bike there is, but unfortunately my insurance is still in the "fuck you kiddo"-group, so anything above 900cc range for sporty bikes is going to fuck my shit up.

Just wondering if 600cc is too small, I did try out a restricted duke 690 a few years ago, was sorely disappointed in the engine, shit didn't move past 160kmh, but apparently the Hornet has more HP and around the same amount of torque and a bit steadier 4-pot in comparison to the single cylinder in the Duke. Also have ridden a 900, but only a little bit in the city, as it wasn't mine. Have also ridden a 1200 Harley one summer, which was nice, but I really don't like cruisers, they're for men in their 50's.

I tried watching some motovlogger videos about it, but couldn't stand it, it's just retards lane-splitting and their verbal output is "so umm yeah - oh wow use your turn singal buddi - so like when you ride a 600 - oh nice ass - so when you ride umm uhh like it's like yeah - oh my god what are you doing - where was I, yeaghgh basically look at me as I accelerate wheee", so I'd like some experienced input.

I'm a sucker for speed, but I get enough of that in my car, I'm looking for something that looks nice and is affordable while giving me a nice ride in the city and on the road. I've grown to like the shit out of nakeds, sports bikes are not for me, I think the mask coming so far in front of the front shocks looks gay.

Is this the best naked choice for me? Am I going to be disappointed?

Shell out another grand for a newer 900cc Hornet + almost doubled insurance for 1/3rd more torque and 10hp? Or go with what I've planned for already?

Also, summer's coming, ride safe.

>>16882822
>low mileage (~40kkm)
that's not really low mileage for motorcycles.

It's going to be pretty fast, no need to get anything more powerful.
>>
>>16882822
nice blog faggot

>you'll be fine just take it easy and go slow at first
>>
>>16882843
Is that not low? All I see on sale for similar aged bikes are more expensive that have well over 80kkm, some even over 100kkm.

>>16882849
Thanks, I guess.

From what I understand the comfort of sport bikes seem to go as such...

Honda: Neutral, can be comfy

Yamaha: Most uncomfortable, this does not seem to true for me at least

Kawasaki: No idea, I sat on a 636 and didn't feel any comfort or uncomfort

Suzuki: Lower seat height, most comfortable of the sport bikes.

A lot of reviewers say that you sit ON an R6 whereas on a GSXR you sit in it. I agree with this assessment but for me, sitting on the bike is more comfortable. I did 1.5 hours of saddle time with no stops on my R6 and was perfectly fine. Even my ass was nicely supported by the seat. The GSXR felt cramped af for me.

On the CBR600, my back would get sore after 30 minutes but it wasnt that bad.

imo they're all gonna be pretty similar to your sv650 in terms of comfort. Power wise, they're gonna be slower low in the rpm but absolutely insane past 8k rpm
>>
Hey, Indian Scout anon here that's been asking about it in this thread for the past week.

I went to go sit on one at the dealership today and it felt like everything just fell into place. I talked to the guy about deals and pricing. Turns out there is .99% financing (I may get close to qualifying for this with my credit score) and since I'm military I get $1000 in accessories for myself or the bike. What all should I look for in accessories? They would have to be sold by the dealership of course.

By the way, the red looks real sexy in person. I went in there thinking I was going to side with the black, but that red doe
>>
>>16882854
It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it, probably the equivalent of a car having 150k km's. Not really high enough to cause concern but not low either.

As long as it was properly maintained, it's going to go much longer.

You should know that if this is your first bike, it's going to have a lot of power. Just take it easy for the first few months and get some decent riding gear.

My first own, yeah. I've ridden more powerful bikes, just not dailied.

What are some good tips on checking out a bike? I know checking the struts, suspension, electronics, engine (listen for knocking, timing chain noises etc), leaks. Is there anything else? How similar to buying a car? I will test ride.

I assume it's well taken care of since it hasn't been riced with LED's or aftermarket cosmetics (aside from the exhaust, don't know why that's been changed).

Anything I can check to see it hasn't been tipped over?
>>
>>16882895
If I didn't have to pay for it, sure. You can get way better bikes for the price though.

Talked to a guy who owned one and he said it has power like a 600 but I kind of have my doubts.
>>
>>16882897
last bike I bought had a broken regulator. It did run fine, only noticed cause I ran trough two bulbs in a week.
Bring a volt meter and check the voltage at the battery while the bike is running. Should be between 13,5V and 14V if you rev it a bit

>Suzuki: Lower seat height, most comfortable of the sport bikes.
Just today I thought that the seat on the SV is low and maybe a more upper and forward position would be more comfortable so I don't know about that, I guess I need to try an R6 and a GSXR.

I will remember this, thanks.
>>
>>16882897
http://www.clarity.net/~adam/buying-bike.html

it's basically the same as checking a car. You can be really thorough and go through it with tools or you can check out the major stuff if you don't want to do that.

>Anything I can check to see it hasn't been tipped over?
check the bar ends for scratches, the engine cover, anything that sticks out far.

My F4i was an overall more liveable and comfortable bike. Fun, fast, solidly reliable. F4i's can make pretty good sport touring bikes and that's probably the direction I would have gone with mine had I not sold it in college. These things will keep rocking for hundreds of thousands of miles if you take care of them.

My R6 is faster, handles better, and sounds better. But overall it is much less comfortable, longer rides are out of the question. Also a very reliable bike, only issue I ever had with is was an intermittent error code from the EXUP valve not responding. Went with a full exhaust anyway that eliminated it so it's not an issue.

>>16883929

In general any Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki cruiser will be as good as or better than the equivalent Harley while costing less and being more reliable.

Determine your budget and fine one that you like the looks of.

Ayy.
I've only got an old pic.
Protaper CR high bend bar. Removed cross brace because I rotated the bar forward in the clamps and the brace was making it hard to reach the key.
Handlebar switches are stock. I've recently added another switch (not pictured) that I was going to wire to some off-road LEDs so I could toggle them separately from the normal headlight. I couldn't find a good place to actually mount the light so it's just a dead switch currently.
The trail tech Vector speedo has some mount that bolts to the front of the triple clamps. It's a POS to be honest. Would recommend keeping the original speedo unless it breaks.

Also finally got the gopro back. Maybe new webms tomorrow.

Solid bike with a good motor and trans. ~100whp, and a motor that will chug on for 300,000 miles.
Comfortable and sporty suspension.
Decent stock seating position and comfortable.

It really doesn't do anything wrong. Not necessarily the best at any one thing but pretty great at everything you would want from a supersport type bike.

The 600F4i and the 954RR are probably two of the best street oriented sportbikes ever made without veering off into sport standard or sport tourer territory.

I don't really have a problem with the Trail Tech mount. It's the device itself.
I mean the mount is flimsy but it doesn't cause any issues. Plus the flexibility allows me to "adjust" it.
I have a Vapor for my KTM and I think I'm going to cut out a bar pad and mount it in there to keep it right on the bars.

As for the switches:
Cheapo switches are usually really shitty. They will let water in, parts will break, and the electrical contacts won't last long.
Why would you want to turn your lights off anyway?
>muh visibilty

But if you must, my recommendation would be to put the headlight on a relay straight through the battery so the switches don't limit your current flow (which has benefits on its own). Then put an additional switch on the bar to flip the relay off.

>~100whp
I usually read about 90 at the wheel from stock ones when I have looked for figures. Not a big deal anyway.

I just wish the seat was a bit thicker, and I think higher pegs would help too. I know most people say lower pegs are more comfortable but I think a little higher would help me grip the bike better so I could relax more.
I was really surprised when I tried to find aftermarket pegs/rearsets that there weren't many other than chinkshit. I guess that's just part of having a bike that has been out of production for over a decade.

On my KTM I wired the headlights to the turn signal switch since the headlight switch on my cheapo assembly broke off and I don't have signals on that bike. It's actually nice since it has 3 positions so I can turn it off without any additional switches or wiring.

Since you won't really need to flip the switch much, you could put the on/off switch down on the side by where the front signals mount.

Hey guys, can riding up an inclined surface with poor traction cause your bike to stall? I have this persistent issue of my bike stalling when trying to go up my driveway and into the garage.
