Thanks for letting us know you know nothing about 4chan's etiquette.

Since you're dumb I'm gonna spell it out for you, if you make an early thread, there will be 2 threads for more time occupying space on the board.
>>
>>16726986
>You know nothing about 4chan's etiquette
There's no etiquette on a Namibian basket weaving Bazaar.

Further more, a new thread is almost always made at the latest at 400 posts, which is usually around page 6. That being said, you are complaining that I made the thread with a trip on, which people filter.

It's still in the catalog view regardless of a hidden thread. The average anon is more likely to find DBT if it's on page 1 or 2 compared to the bowels of page 10.

This is a retarded argument though because no one let's DBT get to page 10

My Ninjette didn't do this. Do I just exercise some more until it goes away? The clutch cable is very stiff and I'm going to fix it with either lithium spray or buy some graphite. That might be related. It could also be the positioning of the shift lever, since it's so close to the crank case that I have to swing my toe around. I can't just bring my leg up.
Do you have any idea of what I could do?

The peg is in my arch. I have size 9 1/2 boots, so my toes can't just slide under/over.
>>16727406
I'm probably going to do that. Just give myself a couple millimeters more clearance from the crankcase.

Just another small project on this bike. There's quite a few. Loose controls, grips need replacing, mirrors need adjusting, plastidip needs to come off. Peeled some off already and the paint underneath is chipped and the clearcoat is going.
I also want to clean the bike up before riding season.

Lots to do. I'm glad I have a week off and shit weather next week.

do motorcycle's gear shifters generally have play when you push down in first gear? or are they generally rigid? or does it depend on the make?

Do you just mean a little bit of wiggle room on the shifter? Yes that's normal and will be the case in pretty much all bikes.
Do you mean you're still able to press the shifter all the way down when in first gear as if you could downshift more? I've only had one bike where I could do that. It still allowed full lever travel in both directions even in bottom and top gear. All my other bikes top out the shifter in top gear and bottom out in 1st.

does anyone have an immobiliser / alarm system fitted to their bike? When i bought mine it came with a metasystem alarm & immobiliser and I'm thinking about bike security...

in cities in the uk bike theft is most common with 2 chavs on a scooter, one jumps off and cuts your locks and then they bump start your bike and ride off with it. Just wondering whether it is possible to bumpstart a bike if it's got an immobiliser? Obviously if i had the alarm fob and unlocked the bike i could bumpstart it, but could a thief??

thanks lads

i am small so most bikes that aren't fuckhuge are fine which includes all sport bikes and few dualsports
>>
>>16727754
There are minor difference between the brands like seat angle/shape/height, clip-on position, distance from seat to clip-ons and a myrriad of other little things that, though small, do add up to a big difference and you won't even feel them until you sit on the bike.

As an example I cannot sit comfortably on a Honda Grom but a Kawasaki Z125 Pro is quite nice for me. Both have the same size engine and pretty similar specifications but one just does not fit me and one does.

Hey guys!
After graduation i plan to use my old Simson S51N for transportation, because after 12 years of traveling by bus&tram to school and back it's real fucked up, mainly because oldies are everywhere, and half of them are basically rotting away next to me, spitting every kind of fluids at me. Fuck that shit. Instead, i'll get my drivers licence for cars, so i'll be allowed to run on my Simson.

Now the question. Can you guys help me out, how to secure the bike at the Uni, because i don't want it to get stolen. Also, it's very likely that someone will try it anyways, it's middle yurop here.

Also general 50cc tips for urban commuting to University? Other than a bright yellow top and thinking ahead. Anything is welcome.

To clarify, you want to try to spend less on your first bike because you will end up with a second bike at some point.
You don't know exactly what you want yet, really, and if you drop that bike you'll instantly lose $1k at least. It would be better to buy a cheaper bike with more miles and get some decent gear that will last you 2-3 bikes.

Either take MSF or just buy a cheap used bike and teach yourself in a parking lot. Then register it and get your permit and start riding quiet roads.
Spend a week in a parking lot or up and down the road in your neighborhood to practice all the basics. Don't worry about shifting, it's just muscle memory and coordinating all the controls.

I have hated this year's Honda graphics on most bikes but I think this actually makes the 650F look good enough I could bear to buy one somehow

I know what you mean man, and I agree $7k is a lot. But a similar new bike even from Triumph is easily $9-10k. So Its practically brand new (only 1100 miles) but I won't be paying the drive off lot depreciation. If $7k is a fair price for a bike in that condition, I'll ride/rest a lot easier. I don't want to overpay, and the guy isn't going to budge on price.

I know /o/ disagrees with this, but I'm in Southern CA where bike prices are silly high. >>16728393 Paid less than $1000 for running servicable bikes. $1000 in CA will literally get you a mystery box of "i think its all there" parts. Even $1500 for "doesn't run, probably needs a new battery" is normal here.

I saw another bike I wouldn't mind for $4500 (ducati monster 620) with over 12k miles on it. But I'm not super excited about it personally. Just the overall looks of it kinda turn me off. Pic related

I need an answer, /dbt/, I've been all over the internet and there's as many people saying one as the other

If I upgrade my vintage 6v bike to 12v will I or will I not have to upgrade my alternator?
>>
I'll never understand why you'd buy a low end Ducati.

Just get an sv650
>>
>>16728812
Just get a fucking nighthawk 650 or something cheap and shitty. You'll probably crash it, and if you don't it'll give you a good insight as to what you want out of a bike and what you don't want, and you can push the limits of it without being that worried.
>>
>>16728762

Funny how bikers, even seasoned veteran 50 year riders declare everyone crashes at some point. Whats odd is its usually the 50 year riders that also announce they've never dropped or crashed a bike.

I'm not interested in "pushing the limits" or pretending i'm on a time trial while going through mountain roads and canyon rides. All for the same reason I don't "push the limits" in a sports car.

Working on it. I'm thinking Texas, Oklahoma, or Colorado in that order. Just kinda confused if I should continue in my current line of work or go independent. I'll be leaving my company however, which isn't an easy decision.

Work is easy, I drive PCH a couple hours every day and get paid for drive time, and my boss doesn't ride me too hard. The only thing I don't like about my current job is CA.

It means once a vegetable has been cooked, I can't tell the difference between raw and organic. That being said, I've had organic apples that where terrible, and non-organic ones that were amazing. I think most of it is a placebo.

And truth be told, I'm not a master farmer, but I know enough to know that it's inherently more work to grow a crop without chemicals than it is to do. Case in point, the majority of America's food isn't organic, if it was easier and less labor, it would all be organic
