Can anyone recommend any 300-650 class bikes that aren't sportbike styled? I'm having to pay out the ass for a CBR 125 in Ontario because it's styled like a sport bike ($1800/year). Literally almost exactly the same as I'd be paying for a CBR 500.

Anyone else use a specific weather app? The one that comes with my phone isn't specific enough when It comes to rain
>>
>>16556587
Accuweather (tm) has a minutecast function that can tell you for the next 2 hours very specifically when it will be raining. Also has hourly forcast for up to 24 hours and daily forcast for up to about 2 weeks.
>>
The thing about the DRZ 400 is that it's just a /dbt/ meme. Nobody is actually falling for it. Unlike the grom which is a widespread moto meme that people actually buy into.

Radarscope

About 4 minute delay on raw radar info from NWS sites.

Does look nice. Been wanting to sell the DRZ and get a wr250r. I haven't seen any at the local dealership though to play around with it. I've heard the weight on them is a lot lower and despite only weighing 25ibs less I've heard it feels like 50 less. I compare the dew point to the air temp. If the ground's cold enough to be pulling black ice out of the air, I don't ride for fun.

Also, if the air temp is below 0°C, I'll only ride outside builtup areas. Handguards do fuck all at city speeds, but help heated grips work a lot better above 60-70kph.

They're Italian and reliable. They're winning the enduro championship, Beta has been steadily growing in the latest years, they export 80% of their products and the 2T 300RR is the most sold bike of the segment.

I'm no expert, I simply found it ridiculous that /dbt/ shitposters would make things up to make them look like a non option. Go inform yourself, they seem like very good bikes, they simply cost more than other brands.

There's 8 dealerships in the whole country. That network is tiny. If you aren't in the area then you'll have to get parts mailed in. If they don't have the parts on hand, they'll have to get it nailed from Italy, then mail to you.

I'm really not understanding this. I thought you pushed right to go right, and pushed left to go left. So now you're telling me I should turn the handles left to go right now? Are both the same thing, or does it only matter at high speeds?

Nah, way too much hassle and £££.

Just read this. If you still don't get it come back here but it's all there. You'll get 100 different answers on DBT and a lot of them will be wrong.

Have you never ridden a bicycle? You initially push in the other direction to gain the possibility to immediatly turn with a wider angle in the direction you want to go.

you turn the bars the opposite way, so when they say push right, they mean push your right hand forward to go right.

The bars turn the opposite way which tilts the bike in then they naturally point the way you'd expect after you're done tipping in, this works at very low speeds too you just don't need to tip in as much at low speeds.

No need to think too much about it though just practice your cornering.
>>
>>16559748
Then have someone else register it if possible, no other options.
Try go talking with someone at ACI or PRA first.
>>
>>16559748
>>110% bullshit.
My apologies. I assumed you intended to register it in the UK.
>>
>>16559737
You subconsciously turn left for a second but don't lean left, thus initiating a significant lean right and the following turn to the right.

Everybody does that, but not everybody realises

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yb2E_r-oT4o

Check this out. This is what I do though, there is no turning of the handles, so why do they say that?
>>
>>16559782
You can do it consciously at higher speeds though and it's good to practice doing so because then you can do it while in corners that unexpectedly tighten mid turn.

>>16559761

don't watch any of these stupid fucking youtube videos. just get on the fucking bike and ride it. it isn't complicated. it's retarded to think of it as "pushing left to go right" because really all you're doing is pushing the handle bars in the right direction to go right. it's common fucking sense that gets memed by wannabe pseudo retards that don't know shit.

just get on the fucking bike and ride. you'll figure it out
>>
>>16559795
They're turning by very small amounts in the case of that video.

I wanna smol biek
Did they sell any smol bieks in europe?
>>
>>16559820
Yes.
>>
>>16559822
Any gooduns?
>>
>>16559801
Unless you're already at max lean, that is.
>>
>>16559737
Hold your hands out like you're holding handlebars

Now lean like you're gonna turn right on the bike

Which hand is out further?
>>
>>16559828
WR125

>>16559830
Yeah then it's time to hang off the bike or just brace for impact.
>>
>>16559805
>>16559795

What you do not realise is that you INDEED steer left to INITIATE right turn, but AFTER initiating you set your wheel straight or into the turn to finish the maneuver.

There has been an experiment which I cannot find now, basically they fixed the fork so it couldn't steer. As an outcome the ride couldn't initiate turns in a correct way, and turn radius was very big, just because he couldn't increase lean without turning the bar out of the corner
>>
>>16559805
You're saying this because you ride since you were little. Not everybody started riding a 2 wheeled vehicle since they were kids, so it's not that obvious even though they are doing it at moderate speeds unconsciously .

It is important to understand the technology behind riding, so you don't end up like that webm guy who can't turn his bike and die.
>>
>>16559839
that's fucking stupid, steer left to go right?

really faggot, are you really that fucking retarded?

There was a example of this it twist on the wrist
They had a bike with fixed/locked handlebars and the dude was shifting his weight everywhere.
The bike went straight.

how do i wheelie? i'm too scared to even dare try?
>>
>>16559898
roll throttle on, use 1 finger to pop clutch, cover brake in case of going too high.

Explaining the technique of a wheelie is very easy much like it's very easy to describe how to serve a tennis ball but it's all about refining that technique to perfection.

Just spend 1 hour a week or so practicing popping the front wheel up, it'll be very small and inconsistent at first, but regular, measured practiced will have it improve, if you feel like you're just not gonna get it, or you're too scared, just keep chipping away at it, it'll improve, you'll get less scared and the wheelies will get higher, longer and better controlled.

You won't shrek it if you just take babby steps and don't go too far out of your comfort zone, people shrek when they try too hard.
>>
>>16559898
Depends on the bike, with my fz07
>look at the throttle funny and the front comes up.
With smaller bikes you might need to clutch up, or time a bounce on the forks.
>ive wheelied a cruiser with some bouncing and clutch dropping.
>>
Any former or current owners of a 2005 zx636 ever have an issue of the bike shutting off on them because of overheating? I've been reading that the undertail exhaust would overheat the ECU and this could happen. Should I buy a heat sheild to be on the safe side?
