How many of you park your bike right up next to the store when you go shopping? Like, on the sidewalk, rather than in the lot?

Depends, at one store I parked it next to the door, others I park a few meters away because it blocks the sidewalk otherwise.

I want to add some off-road lights on my bike and need to have an easy-to-reach switch to turn them off for traffic. What's the best way to fit an accessory switch on my bike with little room on the handebars?

Any of you ride track and go by yourself ever? I have a 2016 ram 1500 and a cbr 929rr.

I need a recommendation for what ramp to use because that fucker is heavy and I'm otherwise strong. I had to have a friend help me load it because I was afraid of dropping with our shitty ATV lawnmower ramp.

Willing to spend a little bit of cash for it too. Advice also for best method to get it up. Getting it down isn't too bad alone....

I've wired up my other bike fine so I can do it non-ghetto but I don't really want switches on the shrouds. Mite just get one of those really narrow switch panels like you have on your handlebar and clamp it on the middle under the crossbrace.
>>
>>16537467
I suppose you could just take a thin aluminum bar and mount it to the clamps like where my key is located. Plenty of room for more switches in case you want to add more things later.

>>
>>16537551
I did but still doesn't open up much room where I want it. I want the controls up near the grips but it starts the curve down to the clamp area pretty much right after the lever perch.

>>16537543
I would rather not try to make my own mount because I've tried that before and I always make it very ugly and barely functional.
>>
>>16537564
You should make me one of those like you did for your DRZ with the mount for the trail tech dash, the key switch, and an additional accessory switch

You would definitely know if they needed cleaning. Some day, probably a while from now, it will just run like ass, and that day you will know it is time, then go buy a bucket, a bottle of Pine-Sol, a can of carb cleaner and a virgin lamb.
>>
>>16538593
letting it idle is the most stupid thing you can do and everyone advises you not to. Only harley riders do this. Idling is bad for warming up, riding under light load is the most effective way.

It certainly depends on the circumstances. One of my bikes has a weird clutch that won't disengage fully unless the oil is at operating temperature.

>>16538769
had this too on some 70/80s bikes where the clutch is "stuck" even if you clutch in
Before you start the bike put it into first, clutch in and rock back and forth until it disengages, That should do the trick.

Efi works better, with less maintenance.
Carbs need cleaning and adjusting
Efi is more efficient and allows for more power.
The only advantage carbs have is your dad can fix it for you when it starts running like shit.

Always have both feet on ground and slip the clutch to get it up the ramp. Same in reverse just with the front brake.
Get a wide enough ramp to put your feet down.
Make sure it's 100% in place.

I sit on the bike but walk it up with my feet on the ground. Just using steady throttle and modulating the clutch.

No I'm not saying this has anything to do with carbs. This is a response to anon saying you shouldn't warm your bike up at idle before you ride.

The clutch plates may be worn but I think this is just the way these bikes are. I've ridden several like it and they all behave the same way. The clutch barely works when cold but once the oil gets hot it works perfectly.
Also it's a racing dirt bike designed to run well at high temperatures not a commuter shitbike made to be practical and work well even as it warms up.

It's not allowed. Bikes are two wheeled cars because like hell you're going to have an advantage over all the idiots who thought they would need F350s but only use the bed once a century

The last time someone did it they had their bike impounded because it was "disrespectful" to pedestrians, even though it was way out of the way and a skinny stripped down/ratted out DRZ400 that could fit in a bicycle rack (they don't like that either. they REALLY don't like that. muh incentivizing greenness even though this isn't cali and we don't have a smog problem)

Spotted the chain overtightener. Dirt bikes need lots of chain slack because tension changes as the suspension travels.

>>16540205
the reason it would wear like that is because the chain links/pins wear (not because of dirt, they're sealed with an o ring) making the chain "stretch." Since the links are slightly further spaced now it puts more force and friction on the ends of the teeth as it passes over the sprocket rather than the middle and causes the hook wear pattern

By selling more bikes, which they do.

You don't buy a Harley because they're inherently better than a Japanese bike, you buy one because you want one and they're cool.

We'd all be driving 370z and Hyundai Genesis if we went on money and spec sheets
>>
>>16540343
>you buy one because you can't ride and don't know anything about bikes
>>
>>16540330
I'm sure the honda will be a great around town bike.
Not sure how great it'll be on long trips though.
But that's all preference at the end of the day

>>16540354
The butthurt is real ITT
>>
>>16540358
>butthurt

it's just part of riding a superior machine, bro

that and backhurt, wristhurt, neckhurt, and chancewiththegirlshurt
>>
>>16540358
Yeah I feel that. Not having a windscreen, and the seating position is a bit cramped even with the highway bars will be interesting. More will be revealed, but it'll probably be confier then my CX was after riding for 12 hours straight on my big road trip.
>>
>>16540366
Show me on the doll where the harleys company touched you

Women are trash tho
>>
>>16540366
I honestly don't get why girls dig cruisers so much.

>>16540379
Girls can suck, but they can also succ
>>
>>16540343
You can get the same aesthetics and reliability from an 80s jap shitbike
>>
>>16540372
Biggest problem with not having a Windscreen, to me, wouldn't be the fatigue. It's easy if you're not a fat lazy fuck. But all the insects. That would suck ass
>>
>>16540386
It sucks. That's what I learned riding an open faced helmet behind hay trucks in Oregon. That shit sucked.

>>16540385
I have one senpai, but a Harley is a Harley. Nothing quite sounds the same, nothing quite looks the same, other than Indian.

Like I said, it's not a logical desire. It's purely emotional.
>>
>>16540383
Because bitches are dumb. Unless they ride they don't know the different between a ninjett toofiddy and a street glide.
They're gonna either gonna want comfort (cruiser) or "thrill" (sportbike)
>>
>>16540393
This is true. My girl flat out refused to even consider getting on the back of anything sporty, but I don't get it. Either way I'm buying whatever the fuck I want
>>
>>16540393
>show up with both
>can't drown in pussy because you're a 30+ year old conservative family man with three kids who all ride dirtbikes
>>
>>16540392
Hahaha. Live and learn. All that yummy protein.
Wouldnt harley look like indian since they came out first originally?
>>
>>16540392

What baikus do cute traps like?

>>
>>16540407
I mean if you don't like it, I get it. It sounds and feels like the motorcycle version of the cars I like so I can't complain.

>>16540402
They both have distinct looks with Indian being more art Deco and Harley being more understated but they both evolved from similar roots
>>
>>16540407
Vtwins sound nice if you leave the exhaust stock. Stock pipes are not loud and can be fairly pleasant
>>
>>16540414
Some people really love the basic simplicity. Other people like their bikes to be like the IPhone 6.9
>>
>>16540410
It's old for motorcyclists, as long as you've been riding since your late teens or early 20s.

That age when everyone rides adventure bikes, sport tourers, and full baggers.
>>
>>16540414
>the motorcycle version of cars

Honda's got you covered

>goldwings

You're an idiot and need to stop learning from dbt if you belive that.
LEAVE THE DAMN BASEMENT YOU SHUT IN

The cars I like are muscle cars that shake the ground and low at idle famalam.

>>
>>16537200
Why would you want MORE foot traffic moving past your bike? Takes one person to sit on it, kick it, scratch it or fuck with the gauges/ignition/cables. Would rather park it in the motorcycle parking area, where other frens are going to be carful
>>
>>16540439
No, but you should buy an F1200GS and start working on that goatee.

Dirt bike fags > .................sportbike fags

It's not even the bikes, it's the attitude behind the rider. Dirt bike riders are pleasant folks. Like young unrefined adv riders.
Sportbike riders are all bro tier dbags. Or niggers. Eww

Sportbike riders can make friends with just about anybody just by rolling up to a stoplight so they take the internet less seriously. If you're a dick, it's alright, because you always have real life!

Cruiser riders can only talk to people other than homos, meth dealers, retirees, and mexicans when they're far away from their bike, so they're lonelier and treasure their time here on 4chan more.
>>
>>16540494
Some fat guy looking for the nearest Cracker Barrel he can steer his Goldwing to is still better than a sportbike fag. Sorry about your autism.
