Once upon a time there lived an American biker named Rick. One morning, he woke up, and decided to travel the world.
For the next few weeks, Rick spent his days riding to and through some of the most popular European cities.
After seeing all Europe had to offer, he moved on to explore the rest of the world.
He was having the time of his life until he reached a small town in China. Unexpectedly, and out of nowhere, a beautiful Chinese maiden crossed his path, causing him to fly off and crash his motorcycle. Apologizing, the maiden offered Rick to pay for the repairs and a place to stay while they fixed his bike. "My name is Yu! It's an honor to meet you!"
It turned out she was the daughter of a rich magistrate, so Rick spent the night in a small palace in the center of town. However, due to the scarcity of motorcycle parts, Rick had to spend several days in the palace, in the presence of Yu. Over the next few days, she took a liking to him and his strange American ways. As expected, Rick took a liking to her, too.
The two quickly became inseparable, but Yu's father did not approve, for Rick was an outsider. By the time the motorcycle was finally up and running, Rick had fallen madly in love with Yu and refused to leave. The Magistrate had Rick banished from the town. He warned him if he ever came back, he would have him beheaded.
Rick was devastated, he had no motivation to continue on the rest of his journey. It seemed as though there was nothing left for him in the world, if he didn't have his beloved Chinese maiden. So he did the only thing any other sane guy would do.... Rick rolled back into town screaming, I'm never gonna give Yu up. Brought to you by /dbt/

Yes. Pretty convenient for around town
>>

But what would you carry in it on a bike?
Like... for edc I have enough space between my jacket and pants pockets, it would be useful for carrying a notebook but for anything else that might be usefull like glasses it's pretty much a sacrifice you're making if you fall.

First aid supplies, multi tool, gun, water, other lil odds and ends.
Or on a road trip things I'd like easily accessible and don't feel like putting in a tbag.
Plenty of things you can do with it, and I'm not worried about anything being "sacrificed" if it's that important I won't have it with me on a bike
>>
>>16499834
>straps made for free arm movement
>extra strap around waist
>extra strap-connector in front of chest

if you ever made a longer tour you would realize that all those things make a LOT of sense.
>>
>>16499884
Usually my roadtrips include multiple people so my medikit is pretty big,
maybe a tourniquet but you can get a smaller pack for that and put it somewhere where it's not likely it'll be ripped off your leg if you fall.
And the rest is stuff I usually don't keep on my person, multitool is unlikely I'll use while riding and I doubt you can fit much water in there, maybe a 25cl bottle.
I like it but I can't justify as a bike accessory.

Mass shootings aren't mass shootings when a concealed carrier responds because they don't have time to commit a mass casualty. Klamath falls mall shooting was a good example.

Disarming people just means they're easier targets for anyone who wants to cause harm, look at UK violent crime rates

WASHINGTON, June 27 - The Supreme Court ruled on Monday that the police did not have a constitutional duty to protect a person from harm, even a woman who had obtained a court-issued protective order against a violent husband making an arrest mandatory for a violation.Jun 28, 2005

I was debating your argument that an armed, trained individual will defuse the situation. This sometimes is the case, it sometimes isn't.

I also stated earlier that you can't always prevent this from happening. With this case you couldn't have seen it coming, yet the wife could have reported it but didn't out of fear of her husband.

There's other situations that you could have seen it coming where people on watch lists bought weapons or people with mental issues fucked shit up.

The fact you are on /o/ yet seem to be incapable of doing such things only serves to pinpoint the fact you probably can't even maintain any bikes or cars you own properly if putting together a Lego set instead of buying a fisher price rifle is too much for you to handle.

It seems like spergbike sperging but it's true. When really good riders aren't into sportbikes they have standards, not cruisers.

Cruisers sacrifice suspension travel and handling for aesthetics and rider mobility for showroom comfort. They're pretty much scooters.

Cruisers serve their purpose. Not everyone likes the same thing. Plenty of dudes like taking two up the ass, I don't understand it but whatever floats their boat.

It's really not a bad starter bike. It's just much, much easier to crash as a new rider because the riding position and perceived steering lock are less than adequate for low speed riding.

"lol it's not a lambo" is what they all say

Yeah, well, guess what, when you snap, crack, dent, and bend levers, mirros, pegs, plastics, mufflers, and fairing stays, you have to pay money to replace or repair them.

Nice, m8. That's a better "crisis" to have than mine, where I make a little over 60k/year (and it took almost and decade to get to that point), haven't had any prospective girlfriends (let alone wife material) in that time, four of those years were extremely stressful and I didn't even have time to drink it away, all my dreams of road/rally racing are pretty much shattered because of lack of money/lack of confidence/lack of a viable team, and I tend to ruin most things I touch.

Those symptoms don't match wheel misalignment. Disc brakes will have some friction but shouldn't make wheel difficult to turn.

I measure from center of swingarm pivot to center of rear axle with whatever is handy, in my case a length of TIG welding rod with one end bent 90 degrees to rest in machined hole in rear axle. Others use a yard stick.

i dont put a lot of faith in youtbe bikes being tuned to any extent.
like CC said though, a short kick stroke and inexperience can make it look pretty difficult.
no one could start my YZ without at least some coaching

I used to own a kx500.
sold it to my uncle a few years ago (pic related is the bike)
Honestly they are very easy bikes to ride, you hardly have to rev them at all, the low down power is amazing so you can just lug them around in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear all day without actualling hitting the power band

They are very thirsty though, riding with conservation in mind you are lucky to get 90km out of 10 litres of fuel.

you cant expect a 2 stroke to be a fuel sipper if it makes any kind of power though. thats what desert tanks are for anyways

>>16502380
well shit and the 426 used the same stroke with a little more bore and beefed up conrod ends, id imagine its pretty similar
we need to start remembering to trade bikes around

ehh id rather have a light bike, was half the reasoning behind getting the 300exc, not like you can ever use all of the power a 500 makes either.
things do like 160km/h with 13/52 gearing.

Wish I could get a 2 stroke street legal here but kinda past the point where you can legalize dirt bikes and 2 smokes. Buddy has the yz250 super moto and a 450 fourstroke one.

You can plate a 2stroke or any mx bike where i live as long as it has never been registered in my province. You have to do some niggatry and plate it somewhere else then bring it back and since it was "previously on the road" you can plate it again. Something like that at least

Should I buy a brand new 150cc Bike (Honda CB150R) or an older 2nd hand 400cc Bike (Honda CB400)?

The 150cc will come from the dealer, $400 cheaper, will have warranty, etc. It's good enough for commuting but not allowed on my country's freeways for long distance travel.

The 400cc is allowed on my country's freeways, but I don't know how reliable it will be being a 2nd hand bike.

This is going to be my first auto purchase. Which one should I get?

When people say power wheelie they mean like just like get on the throttle and pull on the bars? Not like you just get on the throttle in second and it pulls the wheel off the ground right?
>>
>>16502921
Power wheelie is throttle with no other inputs or clutch dump.
>>
>>16502952
Then my bike must be a gutless shitheap or i am a pussy and dont give it enough throttle. I am probably just a pussy

>>
>>16502997
Yeah that's not a power wheelie
>>
>>16502997
That doesn't count, if your bike can't wheelie by power alone it can't power wheelie. That's just a wheelie.
>>
>>16502997
Yeah i can do them fine like that but just opening up the throttle wont pull the wheel off the ground in 3rd and above

I haven't even attempted a power wheelie since I learned clutch ups nor would I recommend it. It's so violent. Clutch ups are like a cloud lifting the front wheel and holding you gently. Don't know how I ever lived that power wheelie life.

no it's just yet another microdefinition only retards on /dbt/ could possibly care about, it uses throttle only it's a fucking power wheelie.
>>
Fug, someone make new thread
>>
>>16503121
So what do you call an unintentional wheelie that happens under max acceleration?
>>
>>16503141
a wheelie or a power wheelie.

Why is this difficult? All wheelies are formed through the same process, and you're unlikely to confuse losing some drive on the straights from wheelies with deliberately wheelieing as a stunt in normal conversation.

These microdefinitions could only matter on /dbt/ where people aim for theoretical victories because they (in theory) chose the right technique, instead of actually doing anything.

That's why everybody on /dbt/ is an expert on body position but nobody is actually good at it (see: drop anon).
