My uncle (actually aunt's husband, we just call him that) said he's looking at the upcoming Type R as a retirement toy, but might need some leverage to convince the wife to be cool with it. She made him settle with a Prius C as a daily so he's gonna have to do some gymnastics to make it work.
>>
>>16412449
Can he pull the "its my damn money" line?
>>
>>16412449
I think it has more interior space than the Prius C so he can pull the practicality excuse out.

>>16412472
Also this.

>>16412151
I haven't washed in months but the only problem is the thick layers of brake dust. It's pretty thick. My front wheels stayed dry yesterday from it.

I've decided to not do shit today. I'll go wash the car and install the tires tomorrow. It's way too spoopy out today.

I'll need to talk to him about it more, but from what I got out of him was that he wants her to be able to drive it too since they only have one car. He also hinted that IF he gets it, once he's no longer able to drive, he'd give it to me.

I don't think they'll be offering an auto in it unless they're changing it with the new one? Even the FK2 was manual only. I wonder why that model was even made if they were gonna introduce yet another generation of it two years after it released.

Trying to decide the order to build the hatch up.

Right now it has a sluggish D15B1 with a 4spd tranny. Initial research on h-tech and civic4g say that the DPFI to MPFI swap will give it a decent pep. Going to need the multi port jawn anyway in the future as i collect parts for a B series swap.

Right now, the corner lights are hanging on by the wiring. The tabs that are supposed to fit into the chassis broke off so they pop out if I drive over 45mph and hit a bump. I ordered a set of SiR clear (not amber) corner lights out of a 90 jdm SiR. I believe it will fit but the jdm lights only have 1 bulb spot.

Right now there is no oil in it because of the stupid threading problem I had in the oil pan/drain bolt, so an oversized drain plug is on the way (ordered for $4 off amazon). I hope this fixes the problem. If it still leaks, I might have to get an aftermarket oil pan off ebay ($30 replacement).

Clear corners aren't DOT legal, so you are giving cops a reason to give you a ticket at literally any moment.

Realistically doing anything that isn't a swap or boost is pretty much playing with your cock. But if you are looking for something to do, yolo
>>
>>16414120
Depends on the state. In Louisiana they can be clear or amber. I had clear with amber bulbs that I plan on going back to.
>>
>>16414130
LA Rev Stat § 32:309 is vague at best, but at a bare minimum would involve converting to amber bulbs if you used clear corners. Another statute says you must run red reflectors in the rear though (no JDM tail lights)

Regardless, not having reflectors for "aesthetic" reasons that only you and your instagram followers are going to notice isn't really worth the extra money.

But you're an adult and you can make your own decisions.

>>
>>16414120
thanks for the heads up. from my 2 minutes of internet research it looks like you can use clear or amber corners in my state as long as you have amber bulbs.

regardless, this car isn't going to be a daily so i doubt it will see many miles driving on the roads.

Yeah I understand, I just don't want you to get pulled over and fucked so that the cops can buy more guns. Just lookin out for you homie

Clear corners are fine, you just have to have amber bulbs. Every 94-97 USDM DC2/4 has clear corners.

Ah I get it now. Almost all the Hondas here run aftermarket corners and I haven't heard about anyone pulled over for them.

For my tails they're almost OEM aside from the turn signal which is clear with amber bulbs. Still have reflectors in them.
>>
>>16414273

Any lights that aren't physically stamped with "DOT approved lighting" (or something to that effect) are technically illegal for on road use. It's a technicality but again I never want to give the cops any reason to pull me over.

I did manage to get the wheels off but I can't undo the brake caliper bolt. I'll probably just get a breaker bar but I'm afraid of shearing off the bolt as well, is that possible? Would PB blaster help even if it's not rusty (just on really tight I guess)?

Also, thinking about replacing the trunk lid on the fa5 with one from an EX so I can go wingless without having holes.

Kinda wanna leave it black though. Will I look gay if I run a black trunk lid? I kinda like shitty ricer aesthetic, but I also don't want it to look cheap

They put stuff on sale sometimes, especially around the typical holidays. Some of the less popular stuff gets marked down a lot too, like the Prelude hoods that are $480 now instead of $800.

Check back when they have a sale if you're not in a rush.

It's black in color, measure the holes. They should have a size for it. I did it with my rear badge holes and my bro did it on his mustang when he ran wingless

wrong. the d15b1 camshaft is tiny. mpfi swap alone will do almost nothing. replace camshaft with d15b2 or d15b7 cam and install d15b2 computer. that gives you quick, cheap, and easy +18hp. Then, you can think about mpfi swap.

Been a bit inactive recently but I got a new addition to the family last week. 1993 civic si, I'll be taking a pic for the collage in a few days once it's cleaned up and lowered a bit. What's a good price for a manual civic/accord in your area? Ideally looking for 150k or less for mileage.

Like look at this fuck: http://gulfport.craigslist.org/cto/5944534449.html

Wants $3200 for his Civic with 312k miles on it.

Do what shingu said in the post above. If I had to make a guess at gunpoint, I'd say it's something distributor related (could just need to be unplugged and replugged). There's not a ton of check engine lights that would cause a no start, but dizzy problems definitely can.

Ended up having to drop my fit off to the mechanic for those stupid wheel studs

my dad took me home and he has a 93 hatch
He was taking corners like crazy, I didn't you could go so fast, I guess the lower center of gravity helps??
I told him I've never gone that fast and he said I shouldn't be a mickey mouse like him
I felt like I'd flip over a few times on my fit but I guess I'll be pushing it a bit more now
>>
>>16438234
Your dad is a pretty cool guy. Yeah those old Hondas are built for taking corners. I never feel like mine will flip no matter how hard I try.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6z5kCak5q4

But yeah wheel studs are a pain. I'd probably end up changing the wheel bearing and have four new studs.

I can only really see it being an issue on newer cars where it might fuck with the ECU or something. More technology in the exhaust system.

my fa5 that's already been k24 swapped. just want another block to work with/build so I can still drive the car while I spend a month or two to build the bottom end on a separate motor. Then I would take out the k24 currently in the car and sell it as is or part it out.

Would probably be able to recover maybe 800-1000 bucks from that motor as is. Since I won't need the head from the second motor, I could sell that, maybe get another 300-500 there. All said and done it would be 2400 spent on K24's, recovering roughly 1100-1500 bucks selling off the stuff I don't need, which means a net cost between 800-1000 on just the k24 short block.

Glad I typed that out, sounds like a lot of hassle and work that won't save me any money all so I don't have to go without vtec for a month. I'll just stick with what I've got and save the money for that trunk lid or something.

Still on the lookout for good Honda deals in Houston. Lots of high mileage cars. What do you guys think of Saturn cars? There is a few of those with much lower mileage and same price range same with the Korean cars. Might go that route if I can't find a decent Honda or Toyota

The newer the faster. It also depends what you mean by best. It's subjective.

In that case, I'd say 7th gen accord and 4th gen Si.

7th gen Accord was the first manual v6 coupe generation Honda made.

4th gen Civic was the first Si they made. You can't go wrong with newer ones but each generation you go the tighter the engine bay. 7th gen is where things get tight.

Yeah Hondas were backwards back then. Transmission and stuff is on the passenger side.

I think I'd do changes more often if I didn't have apartment guys on my ass about it. Also the constant wind blowing since I'm by Lake Pontchartrain. It's hard to stop some kind of mess popping up.

I got a Fumoto valve now though so I can run old oil straight into a bottle and save the bucket for when I take the filter off.
