ETS2 has france and germany, which are green and fertile due to generations of farmers that knew not to remove all the trees that held the soil down.

Everything happens on Slow.
Trip planning down to the last detail is important or you're gonna have a bad time. Can't just wing it like you can in a car

You always have to be aware of where your trailer is and remember that you are 13'+ tall.

Other than that, it's still driving an automobile. Air brakes are a bit different. You go from 0% braking to 100% braking in like 1/2" of pedal travel where cars will have 10x the pedal travel. Suspension is rough but you have the air ride seat so you bounce around everywhere. Your blind spot while changing lanes is 60' long so that is fun. And when you're backing up (especially turning) you are completely blind in so many places. Sitting up high and having an air horn are the best things about driving semi trucks. The high seating position is one of the reasons I will never DD a small car, always SUVs.

They normally show a little bit further out compared to the regular convex mirrors. Helps to see cars coming from further away if you are backing into traffic. Also hełps if you are changing lanes and you have a real small car or bike riding in the blind spot right on fhe passenger side of the tractor.

And the backup cameras are ok, we have them on a lot of our trucks now (although the monitor in mine doesn't work). Best use for them is when you are backing somewhere with pedestrians since you can see them right behind the trailer. Also when changing lanes, you can kinda see when you pass a car to make sure they are behind you trailer. The field of view is only like 10'x12' so not like you can line up with a dock 50' away using the cam.

Pretty much. If they give me 10-12hrs of work, I will knock that shit out in 8-10hrs. But if they give me 16hrs worth of work, I'm not going to run my ass off like crazy for 15hrs to get it done. I'll take my time doing 12hrs worth of work and bring back the 4hrs worth.

Plus they put me in this area I can't stand. Gotta send them the message that you can't put me over here on a day this heavy. Tons of dickhead customers and stops that take forever so even with these stops on a light day, I would be out here all day.

We are just short on drivers overall. They know that stops are coming back. The past two weeks, everybody has been working their asses off like crazy just to get it done. You can't keep working the drivers like this. They really need to communicate with the salemen or bring in merchandisers or something because we just physcially can't do it.

One of the owner operators at the previous outfit I drove for had a Volvo 770 with the D13 and automatic 12 speed after several Kenworths and Peterbilt conventionals for oilfield hauling, and he said he would never go back. It looked breddy comfortable compared to the T800s and 389s they had for us company cucks.

We got $55/wk on base pay which is the best raise we have gotten in years. And then commission I think is gonna go up like 0.5¢ or something small. But that $630/wk for base pay is gonna be nice especially when it comes to the slower months like we had in Oct-Nov where your route might get cut 1-2 days a week. That $55 raise means I could get my route cut and I could run around for 4hrs doing paperwork, barely working at all, and my check would be about the same as running a route all 5 days that week.

Plus the check for this week, the first week of the year, will have some holiday pay I believe for working Monday. These past few weeks have been shitty but at least I will get a couple fat checks.

Also we had a million returns last week and supposedly I get paid for those. Like Friday I delivered ~450cs and picked up about 150cs of outdated returns so I should get paid for 600cs.

Somebody mentioned somethin about that at one of our meetings, and I would love it for Pepsi to get raped on the Chinese Overtime they pay use.

With the base pay and commission, It's $21.60/hr so I should be making $32.40/hr for the OT. At 9.5hrs of OT, that would be $307.80. Even if we left out commission, it would still be $14.38/hr for the 40hrs and OT at 1.5x would be $21.56/hr and those 9.5hrs of OT would be $204.84. Instead, they somehow ended up paying me $108.30 for working 9.5hrs of OT, so $11.40/hr.

i drove the 150's in japan when i was in the navy and not only are they a blast to drive, isuzu diesels + cab over made for the most painless maintenance experience i've ever had with a vehicle. those little dually axles are strong as fuck too. you can tow almost 10,000 lbs with a truck about the size of a ford ranger.

Going west on i90, get into ohio, pull into the conneaut weigh station/rest area. Theres a line of trucks sitting in the thru lane between the 2 rows of parking spots, figure theyre waiting for a guy to park. After waiting for a couple minutes, go out front to see wtf is going on. Turns out, both exits were parked in, then a pajeet parked behind them in the thru lane. Had to wake up 3 people to get the line moving. Don't know how long the guys in front of me were waiting. One of them said he was about to call the cops, don't know what the others were planning on doing, they sure as hell weren't getting out by just sitting there waiting. Had at least 5 trucks piled up behind me by the time we left. Idk why some drivers think its totally cool to park in the middle of the road.

I consider the yards in ETS2 easier than those in ATS actually. Most of them are pretty big and straightforward. AT LEAST UNTIL they started copypasting yards and multiple parking options from ATS in the Scandinavia and France addons, which made them a bit more challenging. Fun fact: those narrow highway ramps you see here and there are actually straight copypastes from Scania Truck Driving Simulator which by far and large is a much more challenging game.

Also I find that American trucks in ATS are far more frustrating to drive than European trucks in ETS2 because the difference between the outer and inner turning circle on American trucks is RETARDED. In ETS2 you can usually get away with taking a turn a bit wider, sometimes you can even stay in the lane, meanwhile those fuckers in ATS drag across three fucking lanes to get anywhere.

Internationals are just cheap fleet trucks. They rattle and are bumpy and smell like cheap plastic. They always have issues but companies buy them for their fleet because they are cheap. Freightliners are a bit nicer and companies smart enough to know how much money they lose on broken trucks will buy them. They are a better ride than Internationals too. Idk what the sticker price is, but I'm guessing Volvos are around the same as Kenworths and some Petes. Volvos are really nice to drive but you gotta take care of them. Once stuff starts to break, you should just get a new one because you will end up stuck in North Dakota for a week while the repair guy tries to find some special Volvo-only fuel line or whatever bullshit.

Kenworths and Petes are just built a little better than the cheap shit like International. They will give you comfy seats and some wood grain (probably fake but still looks dank) and a bunch of actual gauges with chrome rings around them instead of a mini van dash like Int'l or Freightliner. Better ride and more quiet. Plus they look good.

Walmart drivers have really good jobs and they always have Petes. Even the shitty companies like Swift and Werner will get some KWs and Petes for their trainers and good drivers that take care of stuff and haven't crashed in decades.

You gotta look at the steering angle too. Some of those big trucks can turn the steer wheels so damn tight but it varies between makes and models. I think that's also why they continue to use I6 engines instead of V6 or V8. With a V8, they would have to fuck with the suspension and cut down that steering angle or set the steer axle really far forward or put the engine really far back under the cab.

They should make a flat 16cyl engine that still comes out to ~12L and mount it between the frame rails under the cab. That would be cool to see. Expensive to build and a bitch to maintain for many reasons tho.

I mean the VAG VR engines are like that. I believe 15* or something. And then the Veyron is like that, each bank of 8cyl is like a little VR8 so they don't have to make the engine as long as a V8 and only a bit more width. Not sure why more people don't use them, especially in FWD V6 cars.

Fuel filter is probably gelled. Put 911 in it and gonna idle the night. If not cleared out I guess I'll have to buy a new filter.
