Ayy right on time.

I'm heavily considering ordering the matte black Yonaka catback for my car and selling the Magnaflow to some ricer. It just needs too much effort to get working properly. Would have to get the resonator cut out and replaced because it rattles on bumps and the LCA banging into it is annoying as fuck. Vibrates on it if I have a passenger.

$279 with free shipping. I think the anon with the white Si hatch got it too? The chrome one is $249 but I'm gonna keep going with the black and red look. I planned on painting my header black anyway.

My family has had 3 7th gens (all manual) and they've been reliable as hell. One is at 300k but has recently developed a head gasket leak. One is at 170k and was flooded about a year ago, we cleaned it out and its still chugging along. The last one was totaled at 160k and it drove like new.

It's easier in newer cars than older ones and you'd have to be truly awful to damage anything while learning.

>push clutch in

>very slowly release clutch pedal until you feel the car moving
>give the car very light acceleration
>as you slowly give the car more gas release the clutch the rest of the way

Why do I like hondas so much even though I am not asian?

Asians like them because they come from 3rd world countries were people can only afford 50cc motorbikes.

They know hondas are the best and most reliable ones to have..

Then when they move to the first world they think the same logic applies to cars.

But why do white people like them so much?
>>
>>16165246
Why do white people like hondas?
How do engines work?
Why is the sky blue?
If a tree farts in the forest and no one is around to smell it, does it even make a noise?

These, anon, are the great unanswered questions of our time. Unfortunately, many have searched far and wide, but they remain unsolved mysteries maybe never 2 be discovered.

I made a lot of friends thanks to my Honda. Shit is magical.

6th has more parts available and lesser chance of rust. You can't go wrong with a 4th or 5th gen civic that's in good condition.

Yep I concluded that fixing the Magnaflow setup isn't worth the trouble though I may keep just the exhaust pipe itself and swap it out if I feel like it. The price is just right for me. I ordered the black version.
>>
>>16169143
Also I highly doubt this pipe was even for the hatch. There's pretty much no bend to get around the lower control arm like in the pic I posted at the start of the thread. I'll have that pipe cut out and get a new pipe welded in to match the Yonaka's length then I can swap them easily depending on how much noise I wanna make.

No nigger that's low balling. When you show up with 3.5 then you try to get some more cut. He'll probably give it you at 3k. Low balling is starting low. Best offer is some hundreds below and some sellers automatically take off another hundred foot showing up and if you know how to fall you can get another few hundred off.

Fucking retard, that is not how bargaining works.
You pick the lowest possible number that the seller won't get offended by. They have it up for 5k? Offer 4k, or 3.5k or so if you're feeling ballsy, and work from there.
I bought my car for 4.2k and it was listed for 5k. Don't be such a little bitch.

Yeah yours looks like it pokes out far more than what I'm seeing in videos. I'll see how mine looks when I install it sometime next week. Probably the Sunday after next since I'll be doing my head gasket and timing belt that day.

Took the CRX to some dealerships to test drive CR-Z's and just to see how they'd react to the rex, then took it into the service reception. When I got back from a test drive at an independent dealer, the manager told me the techs were asking for who owned the CRX and nerded out while I was gone.

Also, the CR-Z is somewhat difficult to see out of. And the hood bulge doesn't help.

The 3rd gear for the civic si 8th gen has a tendency to break and become almost nearly impossible to shift in to around 40-80k miles. There was a recall, but IIRC it only applied to cars under warranty.

Its slow when stock and has an issue called rev hang that can only be fixed by black magic. So factor in another 500-600 dollarydoos (possibly 700 because CAD to USD exchange) for a flashpro and then another 200 USD for a tune from VitViper.

Don't get me wrong the car is fun stock, but it still has a few quirks that only mods and tunes can solve.

I have one and agree on the flashpro. If there's one mod to get, that's it. Other than the bad paint and synchros (which tend to be a hit or miss depending on which car you got), they are great cars.

Also, buy a different car if you're looking for speed, cause these things are slllloooowwwwww unless you're willing to go with a built motor or forced induction. But imo, they are the best drivers car out of all the fwd sport compacts.

I could use a quick price check:

07' Civic 1.8
140hp
72000km (~45k miles)
7000 eurobucks (~$7500)

Worth it? I'm looking for a daily driver that'll last me for the next few years.

That sounds rock solid. See if you can knock it down to 7k and swoop it up before someone else does.

dumb question but for the CTengineering CAI (http://store.ct-engineering.com/High-Flow-Air-Intake-Integra-s/1831.htm) would I need to get both the icebox and the "stock air filter" or a replacement air filter? It's not clear on which one I should get.
>>
>>16183382
Another dumb question, but the Apexi WS2 (http://www.apexi-usa.com/store/index.php/exhaust/complete-systems/ws2/ws2-muffler-1994-1999-acura-integra-gs-r.html)
what does the exhaust system include to make it so much more expensive than just a universal muffler? Will I still need headers?
>>

Okay, nevermind, answered my own question about the exhaust but the CAI is still confusing me.

This fits in the ice box.

I don't know if a filter comes with the ice box though. Just order both and return the filter if there's one included.
>>
>>16183762
Looks that way, everything is in the same position as my Integra just with a higher redline

>>16183786
sweet, thanks mate.

This shit is weird.

I climbed up a steep piece of concrete because the entrance to an apt complex is shit. No big deal normally but my driver side rear trailing arm got stuck in a position that made that corner lower than normal. My handbrake also wouldn't pull up as far as normal. It eventually popped back into place while driving.

It happened once before and it cambered out my wheel like crazy. Wasn't as bad this time.
>>
>>16165232
>wouldn't have my first stick to be a tlx

TLX does not come in manual.

What the other guy >>16165239
said, I agree with. Most newer cars have hill start assist so you don't even have to worry about that. I know the 2016+ Civic will automatically release the electronic parking brake when you release the clutch when starting (like after being parking for a while, not referring back to the hill start).

In other words, it's foolproof. As long as you have the basic idea (which you do from the videos) and basic competence, you can learn in the dealer parking lot and drive it home.

Whatever gets the job done. Handwashing mine myself is the only option for me because I fear that the fingers of the machines will crack the plastics further.

Also, I forgot to share this good news with /hg/. My car got accepted to be reviewed by Doug DeMuro, and he remembers it from the meet!
>>
>>16185386
Very nice, I just watched his latest video.

I definitely would handwash mine if the paint and body were in great shape. It's too far gone to care but on the other hand I don't feel bad when driving the shit out of it.

Is $13k for a 14 Civic lx sedan with 33k fair? I really just want a car to get me around reliably for a year or so and won't depreciate much until I buy a house with a garage at which point I'll be buying a new Tacoma. Would this civic be ideal for that?

Ok, 1999 crv in awd, 188k, reported no leaks and no cel.

Guy wants 3.5k. I'd be using it as a dd and for camping, with light offroading.

Good buy? Can I bring it down any or is that already reasonable? What else is in that price range?
>>
>>16187026
If you don't drive it a whole lot, maybe less than 10k miles, you might only lose about $2k-$3k on it. But the LX is the base model, so it might be more. Try offering a bit less like $12'5k.
>>
>>16187088
Mileage is a little high. If it's manual it's an okay buy. What you're looking for perfectly fits the CRV. If it's automatic, try to ask for records of trans fluid changes every 30k miles. A lot of auto Honda owners neglect that.
>>
>>16186900
Yea that's ok. If you ever plan on keeping it, just buy a corolla in the first place, unless you're going to get a manual civic instead.

Illinois here, haven't gotten my car stolen. But a Honda gets stolen like once a week around Chicago. I live in the Chicagoland suburbs and I've known a couple people who had their car stolen. One of them was an integra. He forgot to take off his wheel one night and it was gone in the morning. It's one of the reasons why I keep mine rusted and no fancy engine swap. It does deter thieves if you put an SOHC sticker on the side.

Minnesota fag here.
Haven't had my car stolen since I garage it every night. But a long while back, maybe ten years ago, my parents had an Accord that they noticed had kept moving over night, like a few feet forwards or backwards. Turns out some teenager had a key that worked and they'd go on joyrides on weekend nights. His parents caught him and they apologized.

Also, a friend's little brother's Civic got stolen recently. They got it back from a police impound lot, and found that whoever stole it took the radio and the battery.
