My apartment does not allow motorcycles after November 1st. I called their bluff and left it here until the 5th but I saw them pull my neighbors bike on the flatbed so I went out and moved mine out of here. I didnt read my lease agreement fully, otherwise I would not have moved in here.

Jesus, I still can't decide between supermoto and CBR250RR. For every video I see of the CBR screaming its tits off and giving my a diamond hard erection, I see another video of a sumo pulling the kinds of jumps Superman would be jealous of.

I think my bitchiness is mostly down to the fact that: sumo aesthetics are lame, while the novelty of a CBR's sound would wear off rather quickly. Also, CBR is marginally better at distance and makes commuting more fun, while sumo can go anywhere.

To me, supermotos seem to be the do it all bike, from what I've gathered they don't do anything great, but they do everything well. Can fit it for adventure with the change of some parts, can make it a good track bike, great for commuting, great for canyons, great for off road.

For a track/stunt/trail bike, I guess? You can carve all you want, but 250cc doesn't cut it for a commuter in a place like the US unless the significantly reduced fuel economy, extremely high revving, and constant buzzing is your cup of tea.

Recommend me a 2ndbike I can have dreams about
>used, ~$3000

I ride a dual sport now, my first bike. I know I want more power on the highway and a proper road bike.
SV650's are cool, I almost got one as a firstbike, I think the vtwin would be badass (I like middleweight cruisers too so the SV is like a nice compromise for a vtwin without having to be a fat cruisercuck)
Also I watch videos of guys cruising down the highway on a 600 with their buddies, all that extra power looks fun. Specifically bakerxderek's ZX-6R 636 which looks pretty sick, apparently his has been really reliable.

tl;dr cbr if you want a nice bike, sumo if you want a boring bike but want to go places

You've literally summed up the thoughts swimming in my head.
I wanted a sumo but couldn"t shake the CBR for the exact reason that it seems like a sumo can go anywhere, but is actually uninspiring in and of itself. I mean, a CBR with decent tyres could still tackle a fire road, and the bike can still be a hooligan ride all while being more entertaining.

You've sold me, anon. CBR it is - until i have enough money for a DRZ400

bruh you are acting like this is the last bike you will ever buy. just get a ninja 250, ride it for a bit, then sell it and get something else. you wont know what you want until youve been riding for a while.
>>
>>16133075
Gonna take off long? What jobs you looking at until you set skill again?
>>
>>16131944
Is this your first bike?
If you actually have trails near you I'd get something more suited to offroad because you can keep it when you buy a second bike as an offroad-only bike. If it's just mostly flat dirt roads you can use literally any bike you want, and as long as you aren't forced to do much log jumping / river crossing / etc you can get a road bike into a lot of places. It's hard and slow but unless you're on something probably >450lb you can manage a lot of places.

I took my ninja 300 down some fairly steep, tight, rocky ass trails and if you don't drop it you're only risking damage to the belly fairing unless you remove it or if you try to get over a huge log or steep rock you can actually really break something. If you've ridden trails before, you'll be fine. Don't get me wrong, it's far from ideal to use a street bike on a trail but if you're just 'exploring', have a little fitness, don't try going too fast and don't fuck up, you can get one in places that'll make guys on trail bikes go WTF if they see you.

That being said a supermoto can do all this easier but without dirt tires you're still going to be limited so dont really expect to just go straight off the road onto a really hard trail and not get stuck somewhere. The sumo has the ground clearance and weight (if you get the right bike) however to climb over all kinds of obstacles like steep gutters or stairs if you want to be doing that, and a sumo is like 3x easier to wheelie than a sports bike.

A supermoto with proper street suspension can be an absolute weapon on the twisties but most are set up too soft and too high to really get the potential from it. They can still turn pretty fast but just not like a sports bike. Properly set up is a different story though. Highway riding isn't as ideal as a sport/street bike but it can be done. If you're going to be on the highway a lot you might need to change your gearing though or you may overstress the engine (depends on bike)

Thank you, this is only second bike (first big boy bike) but I'm still with the same mentality of the shitty scooter that it's the last thing I'll ever ride.

I think I'm also glorifying how much I'll want to go offroad, because track days make me far more moist than the idea of riding into the nature strip behind my yard.

I think I'll stick with the CBR and explore on tarmac (and maybe fire roads if need be) and have a bitchin' time at the track and in the twisties.

Ah yes, a friend of mine scraped theirs a lot on an SV. Your body position looks pretty good there in my unprofessional opinion, but could you be turning into that 2nd turn too early / too slowly? Get some adjustable sets but don't set them too far up ey, scraping the exhaust might be scary.
>>
>>16133212
I've test ridden the MT-07, SV650, and actual (somewhat) big boy bikes but I prefer being able to use my bike to the full extent rather than the first 150km/h only. Plus, I feel like I'd learn better habits with less (and cheaper) bike to throw around

Trail riding is pretty fucking ballin anon but for the sake of a learner fresh to dirt riding I wouldn't recommend a dual sport to begin. If you do want to get into trail riding start on a 250 4 stroke, as lightweight as you can find and fit it with case protectors. Learning to ride properly on the dirt will involve you wiping out a few times and something heavy or too powerful probably won't do well for your confidence and might build bad habits but a 250 motard doesn't do well anything over 100kph.

If you do take that cbr onto fire roads... well just be careful and be prepared to buy a new set of fairings, street tires tend to wash out without much warning

>Is it OK?
Sure why not. It will gear it slightly lower so the engine will have to rev slightly more to maintain the same speed as before, so you should be aware of that. It's generally not a problem though. Also if your bike's speed sensor is in the transmission it will read a bit higher than you're really going.

i lived with a versys for half a year or so. great bikes. very utilitarian and do pretty much everything decently. deceptively quick turn-in for a bike of its size and inspires a lot more confidence at lean than you would have expected from an econobike. the 650's powerplant is asthmatic at freeway speeds but below that has more than enough grunt while not being overly intimidating. the one thing i didn't like was throttle response off first gear -- it's very grabby and taut, i often shortshifted as soon as possible just to get off of it. very comfy bike and an all-around really good commuter

I have a Bilt leather jacket (the "Cafe Racer"), a Triumph branded high visibility textile for cold weather, Bilt boots, some no-name leather gloves I bought at a motorcycle dealer for 20 bucks, and Bilt kevlar jeans. Yeah, I shopped at CycleGear.
All the Bilt gear held up pretty well, along with the nameless leather gloves. I had a crash a few months ago, and the leather jacket and gloves stood up and kept my hands and arms from getting scraped up. They even held up well enough that I could keep using them after. I did get some scrapes on my knees though, despite the pants. However, the pants came out of it fine so it was the pants themselves that scratched me up. The also Bilt branded helmet did protect me from the fall, too. It wasn't a fancy one, just a basic 60 dollar helmet.
The Triumph jacket hasn't seen a wreck yet, so I can't say how protective it is. It is a bit heavy and can get really warm if you're not moving and it's not freezing cold. Needs to be washed frequently, too. It gets dirty easy. Overall it's an alright jacket.

Oh, but I can't recommend the boots. My ankles don't feel particularly protected.

Anyways, those are my opinions.

>>

When did Revzilla sell fakes?
>>
honestly what is wrong with tash? yeah vlogging is gay but he's a dbt guy right?
>>
>>16134239
its one anon that hates him.
probably because they are too autistic to do motovlogging themselves.

everyone else doesn't really have a problem with tash at all, hes an alright guy.
>>

H Y P E

Should I get the HRC racing kit?
>>
>>16134286
They can within 24 hrs IIRC

Went to work coming down once, luckily I just worked as a golf cart maintenance guy at the time so I didn't have to deal with people. I was expecting to be finished with the trip in 12 hrs or so but wasn't done with comedown surges until probably 20 hrs. I had taken probably "too much" and it was my first time.

4chan really is dead. there's literally no middle ground between slavering autist and shameless redditor """"""slumming it""""""

I blame the autistic cringe poster, he is so persistent that people actually think he is multiple people on dbt, it is what has turned away all of the good content posters.

the worst part is he acrs like he is doing a service to dbt by doing it, what is his end goal?
a dead thread where him and 3 other people try to harder to make the most cringe worthy posts?
>>
>>16134323
The fuck are you talking about?

no, a thread where people fucking talk about bikes instead of namefags and tripshits giving each other handjobs. a thread where people don't force their trite, boring normal real-world social dynamics on a community with historically antithetical values.

Sedici #16 rapidos

Ugly and fit can be iffy (armor stays in place regardless), but they do work. Try on a couple sizes. Located at your nearest cyclejew.

>>16133731
Not really answering your question but I hope you have that sweet Pink/Blue GSX-R from the 90s. Someone post a pic of it, I need wank material

Was looking for this sort of thang when the new V-Strom 650 was announced. Nice looking bike in the yellow, too.
