let me specify

whats the point of mt10 and s1000r when bikes like r1 and s1000 are there?

i mean you buy bike that powerful to go FAST

going that FAST without fairings is ASS

i can understand naked bikes that have less power for commuting

+150hp without wind protection just seems insane and very unpractical

then again if someone can afford them i guess practicality doesnt matter

habeeb it or not, that's exactly what reviews of the b-king said when it came out. "Why would want a naked bike with this much power"

Suzuki very ahead of it's time as usual, reviewers rave about dem 150+ hp nakeds now.

The idea seems to be a more comfortable alternative to the sportbike that's still quick and handles great and just freely admits the bikes are gonna be spending very little time over 200 km/hr for most owners. When suzuki marketed the gsx-s they outright said the imagined the audience of the bike to be the older riders who would have in the past simply bought a gsx-r1000 but were looking for a more comfortable option to do basically the same work.

me? I'm with you, give me fairings and clip ons, I like having something to tuck behind and I'd be taking it to the track too. But most of the supernaked riders tend to be a bit more steady and less knee draggy anyway.
>>
>>15911099
>>15911099
use a wrench on the extractor
>>
>>15911149
I used to think like this too. In fact, a buddy of mine bought a S1000R and I thought he was a retard. Why the fuck wouldn't you get the S1000RR?

Well, it's simple. Once you have ridden a proper sport bike for a while, you will realize that it is very one dimensional and uncomfortable as fuck. You can't chill for long periods of time in a tucked/forward sport bike position.

BUT, you love the power. So this is why you get a GSX-S, S1000RR, FZ-10, etc....

You get to keep most of that power but also in a more comfortable, practical, and upright seating position which makes motorcycle riding a lot more enjoyable.

I just got here, so I don't know the backstory...

Suzuki uses locktite at the factory, so if it's never been off you have that. If it has been off before, the 'tard who did it may have used locktite RED. Either way, life will be much better if you can hit it with a propaine torch. You don't need to get it super-hot, just hot enough to disable the lock-tite.

So I just returned from my first ride with the driving school and my feelings are a mix between being pumped as fuck and a lot more confident.

Riding was a lot easier than I thought, guess not being an ameridumb and having ridden bicycles, scooters and having driven manual gear cars helped.
Cornering is exactly as it is on a bicycle and countersteering is piss easy.
They made me ride the CB500F from the driving school, through traffic, to the "track" where you train for the exam, we did all that exam stuff and I had no problem doing the 8 figure, using just the clutch.

I want a baiku so bad now, riding felt so exhilarating. Gonna start searching for an SV650 after the next lesson.

Ur doing it wrong. You want the top of the chain to be as tight and the bottom as loose as possible. On sidestand, in 1st gear, roll backwards until you can't anymore, then measure.

Did some googling and saw that if you drain the fuel, you don't only expose gaskets and lines, but you also expose the lining inside the fuel tank and other metal components and can even cause some gumming in carburetors (if it's carb'd).

I already told you how to get that bolt out, but you are still doing it your way.

Now fucking do it the right way, the professional way, and in the end the easy way. Not your way.

Screw extractors do NOT apply more torque than an intact original head. They are desperation tools and not very good.

DO NOT TURN EXTRACTORS WITH A FUCKING DRILL. See why? A stronger drill usually strips them. Learn to use CONTROLLABLE HAND TOOLS AND LEVERAGE. They work better.

Start learning and fucking stop randomly making shit up you hurr-durr fuck. (Well, unless you like failure as is your right.)

Remove your rear wheel after removing the remaining caliper bolt, the brake line banjo bolt, and the other bolt which keeps the caliper from rotating. I don't have your manual or a clear view of the side of your bike handy, but the goal is removing the caliper with its bracket. If you post more pics I can be very specific.

You can then play with that caliper off the motorcycle.

Your problem is a mangled nut. Clamp your caliper firmly in a vise padded with cardboard etc so you don't dick up the finish. Don't try to crush the caliper. If you have no vise you can CAREFULLY work without one but it will be more hassle.

Slice off all the nut you can reach with an abrasive disc in an angle grinder, DO NOT hit the caliper or bracket, your goal is a flat surface, not complete removal of the bolt.

Mark the center of your freshly flattened bolt with a punch, then drill a pilot hole to begin. 1/8" is fine. I buy "cobalt" alloy steel bits in pairs. Don't get just one. You were warned.

After verifying your pilot hole is centered, your goal is to drill off the remaining head so you are left with the shank of the bolt still in the caliper. You can look at your good caliper bolt to estimate size. Drill carefully until the remaining bolt head falls off like a washer. You should then be able to slide the caliper over the remaining bolt shank.

Went on the least enjoyable joyride of the year today.
> takes one hour WITH FILTERING to get out of the city
> Street Triple guy doesn't have time to join me after all
> go towards one of the few half-decent curvy roads
> only been there once
> get lost on the way
> don't feel like turning around
> end up riding on straight roads for 2 hours
> not even nice scenery because it's dark
> doing twice the speed limit everywhere because it's so boring otherwise
> non-boring corners are scarce and connected by boring straight roads
> ride back into city to go home
> get lost again
> get home 3 hours after I took off
> enjoyed maybe a total of 2 minutes
> best corner of the day was highway off-ramp with no cars in front
> camera wasn't running

I have one.
It's cool. Very light and nimble. Go for a shadow or a dragstar, as they're the biggest.
A Vtwin at that displacement doesn't sound pleasant though.

Also, mod the fuck out of it, make it a bobber or some shit.
>>
>>15912150
>way too much effort

If he can't get the bolt out, it's mandatory effort AND it's easier to do than typing it out. I've done it many times and it ain't difficult.

If his extractor won't work manually, he's got to do that or pay someone because the disc on the wheel blocks sliding the caliper off the remaining stud.

I've done this job before and done it often.

He really hates doing shit right so paying a shop makes more sense for him, but perhaps my post will educate others.

Just a pair from Hein Gericke. They're pretty cheap but have some thermal lining unlike just a plain leather summer glove. Better quality gloves might do the trick by themselves but liners are really cheap if you need them. Heated grips also make a massive difference if you intend on riding in cold weather regularly.

Running the engine is the only way to flush the last bit of line and fuel injectors. However batteries don't sit well so I pull mine and leave them on tenders indoors. I use a Yuasa tender designed for bike batteries. Car chargers can cook tender delicate bike batteries. If your battery sucks to remove then I'd leave it on a tender while installed.

Modern American fuel is so vile I'd run it at least once a week. Injection doesn't compensate for nasty fuel. I bought my last truck cheap because stuck injectors.

The suspension doesn't need to cycle so you can leave it on the stands.

I'd cover it with a breathable cover to keep dust and shit off.

Thanks for clarifying! I was gonna say it looked waterproof, but you said it wasn't lol.

>>15913225
The H2 is a $25000 meme. Not practical at all, I've sat on one. It's comfier than the R1, but that isn't saying much.
Personally, I would pass on the H2 and get something like a fireblade or rsv
>>
>>15911169
Hammer drill, and not some pussy battery one, a proper wall power or pneumatic one, should take that bitch right out.
>>
>>15913238
>Have you ridden in constant rain for more than 30 minutes before?
Not as far as I remember, I don't commute though so if the weather's bad I probably won't ride.

Shoulder is still fucked, but I rode the V-Stronk to dinner anyway. So nice out right now; should have drug myself out of bed earlier. Damn the pain.

Fill tank, add fuel stabilizer if it's wet where you're at, change oil before first ride of season if you're particularly concerned. Clean and lube chain before or after; either's fine.

i came to the conclusion that the h2 is a meme aswell, its heavy and wide as fuck probably corners bad too compared to supersports and has the same hp as an rsv factory right? maybe some other bikes too I dont remember right now

theyre cheap, they feel cheap and no theyre not dependable, however they are bikes so if you find a 2nd hand one thats rly cheap go for it and fuck around then sell it for even cheaper cuz no ones gonna want to buy it off you,

You can't get rid of chickenstrips on Dunlop Qualifiers for shit before you start losing traction on the front and having some very spoopy slipping. My Conti RaceAttacks have the edge all ragged and oddly enough me and my buddy get bigger leans on the toogay than on the track.

about 20-25 hp
>>
>>15913463
? youve been riding a 600 and wanna go to a 750? what for nigger, just get a liter bike jesus christ.
and to answer your question theres plenty of 600s with different atributes for example a daytona 675r is probably way faster around a track than a gix750

I like using a reverse threaded drill bit. It will usually get caught in the stuck bolt and pull it out as it spins.

No I'm coming from a cruiser and I've been riding my buddies 600, so I didn't know if it was a worthwhile jump and I'm a young guy so liter bikes even a 06-07 model are still astronomically expensive for insurance.

I'm shopping for used also, I've literally never seen a used 675 otherwise I'd grab one

I mean obviously havent ridden any of those since I think they have no point to exist but from what I've seen online im pretty sure the daytona is the best handling 600cc bike isnt it? decent power too.

we're not doing that at all, in fact it was the person we're responding to who did that by saying the 675R would be WAY FASTER than a 750.

Patently untrue, the 750 is faster than the 675, is it earth shattering? nah but depending on the tracks sometimes 1000s are barely faster than 600s anyway.
>>
>>15913640
Yeah I just checked and there aren't really specifics because I don't believe it's available yet, but it looks like it could be street legal.

>how come NA roads are so fucking terrible and patched up, specially highways?

NA is too large for pretty roads. Maps will answer your question. Smooth roads are only important to auto enthusiasts like racefags and lowriders. I prefer low taxes, cheap petrol, and shitty roads. I can dodge the bumps on baiku or ignore most of them in 4x4. If roads get worse, I'll mod my truck and get another baiku. You can never have too many.

This sort of thing is why people become their own mechanics. If you work in the industry you will REALLY want to do your own repair and maintenance to keep other people's grubby dickskinners off your ride.

Good machines quite capable of going 100K miles.

>I'm keeping it as long as i can

In that case get factory service manual and stock up on consumables etc. It's not hard to keep a bike for thirty years or more (done and doing that) but the smart way is to hoard electronics, fuel system components, chrome parts and sheet metal. Stash a parts bike somewhere. You'll be glad you did.

Factory, not aftermarket, master cylinder and caliper rebuild kits are notably worth stashing.

Study brand specific forums and print particularly useful threads to .pdf then save to cloud for the future. Forums vanish or purge old content or purge useful old images.
