It's not very common around these parts either, but I managed to get lucky and found one that had just been brought in from Austria and had yet to be fluffed up by the used car people. It might help if you filter results by searching for the initiale verson, because I'm pretty sure those all have 16v engines.

The D4F (1.2 16v) engine is used to this day. My uncle bought a brand new Dacia Logan MCV with this exact engine. It seems that it's a pretty good engine.

Thing is she's already got 170k kilometers in her, and while I do expect it to last a long time with the right care, there's probably going to come a time when the repairs start becoming more frequent and at that point I'll drop in a new engine. I just don't want to any time soon since she runs great and it would be a waste to just toss out the old one. That and I'm hoping I'll be a more competent driver in a few years so I won't accidentally kill myself or the car with the increase in power.

the lighting is very nice and soft, although there is a little bit of 'hair' on the edge of the twingo. At this point i'm nit picking, but there is a shallow depression that runs from the foreground to the twingo.

I'd suggest a hard top light, and a softbox to illuminate the side and front of the twingo. and instead of giving it a dynamic fading backdrop, perhaps have it just white? since it's easier on the edges of the twingo- fur and small 'hairs' and inconsistencies don't show on while well illuminated backgrounds, providing a cleaner overall look.

You're right. I miss basic colors of first twingo. Except pinkish red which sucked until replaced by proper red in 97 model year. 1993 yellow (dodek's) blue, gold and mint were great. Also like 200?'s frog green.

Don't get the auto or clutchless "Easy" models. Manual is the only way to go.

Kms regularly go over 200k, so that's not much to worry about. Service history is a good idea though.

Watch for rust. That's usually what kills these cars.

The pre-facelift models had 55hp from a 1.2l pushrod inline 4, lifted from earlier Renault models. A new OHC 60hp 1.2l 8v engine was introduced later, along with the 75hp 1.2l 16v. The last one is the most desirable, but all the engines are solid when it comes to reliability.

For extras, get one with a sunroof, either vinyl or glass. Vinyl roofs almost never leak and were a cheap option, so they sold a lot. Glass roofs are a bit less common, but can still be found for quite cheap.

Look out for special editions. The Hélios for instance has a heat-blocking windshield and a sunroof as standard, and the Initiale has a leather interior as well as the 16v engine. Sunroofs were an option here too. Initiales tend to be a bit more expensive though.

Also, air conditioning or actual glovebox space. Pick only one.

Benetton editions have a pretty neat cloth interior. Looks like they got optional sunroofs too.

Seat pattern is the only difference in benettons.
Other editions with unique seat patterns are kenzo (blue or dark red -plush) and elite (really cool wicker-like seats plus beige carpetting)
Also super ultra rare pepe "sari" edition had body coloured cloth sunroof.
