I'm hanging.

I just blew out my front driver side tire and my passenger one is about to go as well. I had excessive toe (bad tie rod ends) and a bad ball joint on my passenger side.

I had been unemployed for about 7 months living off my savings. My mother passed away last November, and shit just went crazy.

But good news is I picked up a job again, nothing special its 9.50 an hour, enough for me to pay rent and put money away for the car.

And I spent the night cleaning and starting to organize a tool box that I received from my mother who got it from her father. (It's just a little Craftsman 4 slot Rally but I want to take car of it and use it to its fullest) next to one of my clothe toolbags. Thinking of building up a work bench to start storing all of my tools as well.

I live with 2 other roommates who go to university. Total rent is 1575, so I only pay 525 for the master bedroom (I've lived here the longest) and we split all the bills 3 ways.

Since I'm the only car guy I get the garage to myself.

I plan to keep finding places like this for a few years at different places. I don't see the point in having a place to myself when I can save so much money. It's the only reason I was able to live 7 months without a job in the first place because it wasn't eating my savings.

Worked a terrible shift at my wage slave job today. Get to do it again tomorrow. Then go to school on Monday. Plus Homework and Group projects are ass. I just wish I could bite the bullet sometimes at the wheel of my car.

I got kicked out of college a few months ago because grades got too low. Long story short I broke up with my girlfriend almost a year ago and although it was the best decision it's a decision I couldn't live with myself with and the subsequent drinking led to my grades being destroyed. My family bought me a 3k shit box 5 weeks ago which I love and just finished cleaning today but the front tires are garbage and winter is coming. I have no traction in the rain, and can't afford to buy a new set because no job. Nobody will hire me because no job experience, and my EMT cert is useless because I don't trust myself enough and I can't afford a refresher course. My check engine light is on, I just spent the last of my savings on a head gasket repair my air filter isn't the correct one for my car and isn't even connected properly thus my car drinks gas. Everyday Is a lie to my family that I'm still in college only because I know they'll kick me out. So I make up for it by dropping my kid brother to school early, dropping my mother off to work, dropping my middle brother off to college, and dropping my grandfather off to my uncles. I do whatever I can to make everyone's life easier while I search for a job so maybe I can pay rent to stay. I hate myself, I lost the only person I've trusted my entire life, and my only hope is one day I crash my car and I die

Yes and no. I recently depleted my savings so the whole living out of my van life sucks now.

I work a couple odd jobs Monday and Wednesday this coming week so I'll be able to drive around and recharge my aux batteries so that's a bonus.

Had to borrow money to pay insurance but I'll have that paid back come Wednesday.

Maybe I'll hear back from one of the job interviews I went to. That'd be a nice change of pace.

All in all, not too bad.

Car is squeaking when the gas tank is full, probably shock towers or the gas tank rubbing on firewall.

Ignition cylinder is in need of possible replacement if a replacement key doesn't solve the issue.
Need all new bushings all around the car.
Passenger side lock and windows are fucked, and water slightly leaks in because of it.
The top has some holes in it, so if it rains hard enough, water gets in anyways.
Parts are hard as fuck to find, and if I can find them, it's too much for me.

Pretty rough. My current car's falling apart and I'm falling for the /o/ manual meme hard for my next car. Car has 2 electrical problems that toyota wants to charge me $1300 for one, and ~$700 for another. The car's only worth about $3000 now so I don't think it's worth it. The problems only happen rarely and don't affect the drive. My dash just goes black with the first, and the second is only when it rains hard it turns on the big red error light. I feel morally wrong trying to sell it to someone but fixing it is a waste of money at 200k miles.

But I just moved out of my parents house and can't afford a nice car. There's an Ion Redline selling a couple hours away with less than 100k for about $3,000... If they took my car for $1500 I could get myself into the cheapest LSJ I've ever seen. I shouldn't feel bad about screwing a dealer since I've seen way too many stories about people driving off the lot and having issues and I might just be signing myself up for some more costly issues if this car's not perfect...

All in all I'm doing fine.

Past couple months have kinda sucked. Lost most of my tools and and my Mazda to a flood. $12000 in damages to the house with a $2000 deductible. House and Mazda was covered but tools are a write off because flood insurance is aids. Paying for this semester was super sketchy but I scraped by by a few hundred dollars.

We take responsibility for our own actions. He had his vehicle towed as it's apart of the governments cash cow program. When I lived in the city I was legally allowed to park a vehicle for 72 hours without plates.

It eventually turned into a HOA and they kicked me out for having, and I quote, "a junkyard worth of vehicles in my yard" and "immobilized vehicles parked on the lawn". I lived there before it was a homeowners association. My vehicles were there before they came along.

Before leaving I took my skid steer and completely destroyed the lawn with the bucket. Turned up all the nice manicured grass (mandatory minimum lawn care), dumped dirt piles everywhere, and left sick burnout marks on the street.

However over a lousy $700 taking the lives of other's is a bit extreme, I'm with anon.

Things are okay I guess.
Started college the other week and it was hard has hell. Dropped all my classes and got a refund, now I'm trying to find a parts technician apprenticeship or a service advisor job. Nobody calls me back because I don't have any work experience. It's starting to feel hopeless. I have an AW11 that needs a lot of work, the fuel tank is completely fucked and won't hold gas. I put a deposit on one only for toyota to tell me a month later it's obsolete. The only good thing is that it was super cheap, so I know I'll make money on it when I sell it. I don't really have any close friends anymore and I'm lonely. My SO is amazing but they're super busy lately and seeing them Is kinda sporadic. I'm probably depressed

Doing ok at the moment, my car will be getting surgery pretty soon, I've been sitting on the parts for a while. Pretty much the whole front end is getting rebuilt, everything but the engine and transmission (fwd). I have a brand new set of tires in my living room waiting for when the car's done. I also just got a seemingly good deal on a new starter motor so I think I'll be alright for a while.
