starting to have the same issue - if it even is an issue? maybe its normal for us? m 04 ninja has 5200 miles on it, everything is good. sit at a stoplight a little too long and it'll get pretty close to being in the red in the gauge but when i start going again it cools down and goes back to the middle.

My fan kicks on quite a bit and maybe they do just like to run a little hot. Maybe that combined with the lean scenario is a recipe for higher temps....i dont know.

i cant lane split either, so when i come to a stop i have to come to a stop....between tons of cars, and asphalt that is over 100 degrees hot cuz its soaked in the sun all day. thats when i start to get hot. when i start moving again, it cools back down.

Just put Renthal Streetfighter bars on my bike and holy fuck what a difference. Low speed maneuvers are much easier/more fun and vibrations are down with em over the stock steel bars. 100% worth the surprising amount of work to accommodate the increased width and rise. Thank god we can't filter in Burgerland or else I'd have some trouble sneaking through with the new width, about 37 inches mirror to mirror.

all dirt bikes are tall, the drz is actually fairly short in dirt bike terms, if you are riding it on road id recommend something like a drz 400/650 or an xr400/650 if you have the extra cash to splash on it, if you can afford one a ktm 690 is also a decent bike (best of the three performance wise, worst as far as reliability goes)

I would not really recommend any 450's or anything like that, most hold less than a litre of oil in the engine so that needs changing every 1000 or so kilometers (around 10 hours of riding) and the fuel tanks are generally under 10 litres so you can only do around 100 kilometers on them anyway.

But thats another one of if you have the money to do it sure why not.
