Yes of course, but it happens in other countries too. Drop Anon (German) ride straight into the side of a truck because he didn't know how to ride. The license test requires some level of balance and throttle/clutch control, which that guy obviously didn't have.

But then again you could get a learners permit and ride anything.

Also that time stamp on the video is great. guy didn't even last 5 minutes.

No it's not you're just not using it all.

Learn to rear brake.

>Let bike do thing until pointed in correct direction
>Roll on throttle and ease off clutch to stand up straight

>>15041865
harley fags are just the worst. They think people on sport bikes are inferior or something and always feel the need to fly past them as fast as possible. In the last week I've had:
>2 cruisers fly past me on a double solid to pull over at a cafe 2 minutes up the road
>cruiser ride 8 inches from me on the freeway and fly past right before my exit in the right lane
>cruiser pass me to do the same speed right in front of me for the next 30 minutes
every time I see them behind me and hear their shitbike rev up, I know I'm about to see some faggotry.

They're not all bad, I ride with my uncle who rides a harley and he's chill.

Just the culture of the group. I like the leather vests, probably going to get one even though i just have a 400 honda. As far as am concerned, anyone insulting someone on what they wear (gear wise) is pretty insecure and probably a squid so there is zero point in acknowledging them. I like harleys, but I'll probably get a Fury next.

I ride a sport bike that's about a million times more hard-edged than your hayabusa. It's hard enough to fucking flat-foot my bike let alone actually do low-speed maneuvers yet I can take the MSF course on it and pass. I know exactly how much lock there is, you're just shit at leaning and probably shouldn't be on a hayabusa to begin with.

So I was out of the loop for a few years, only recently found out about Groms. I kinda want one because cheap but mainly because I'm not very tall and I think it would look and feel more proportionate to my body. I've never seen one irl so I have no idea how small they actually are. Sometimes it seems just right, sometimes it seems too small even for me from the pics and vids I've seen. If you own one OP, can you post a pic with you next to or on it and how tall you are?

Motorbike batteries generally don't have a very high capacity, you won't be able to charge anything for very long at all running solely off your battery.

You are better of investing in a few usb power bricks and charging them while riding.

Or I use one of these whiling doing multi-day trips, I top off my phone while making a pot of tea in the morning.

Don't know where you're at but if want to see Harley's ridden lik they should try Florida. Pretty much anything that isn't a giant bagger Lane splits and will run at a red light. I've been 3 wide with an M3 and a vette going up OBT. Hell I've raced a shadow a road king and a CBR 600 down I4.

Stop a little to the left so that people can drive straight in your lane. Why are some people willing to split lane if it means overtaking cars but get so buttravaged when they get their lane split?

He was about as left as he could get without being in the other lane. And there's a huge difference between a small motorcycle hitting the back of your van and a car smashing into the back of your bike.
>>
>>15043629
I was as far to the left as I could get without risking a hit from cars in the oncoming lane. Is it better to stay as far over as possible to let people pass in my lane, or to sit in the middle and assert lane dominance so people won't try?

>Why are some people willing to split lane if it means overtaking cars but get so buttravaged when they get their lane split?
It's only fair when everybody can do it.

>>15043631
I always signal way ahead of time but my lights aren't exactly bright enough to grab someone's attention by the retinas. I checked my mirror as I was braking to make sure the car was at least slowing down but by the time I could tell he was going to pass really close there was nothing I could do about it.

Let me guess... it feels like the engine is dying in heavy traffic and when you need to go relatively high you need to rev it so high it feels like you're gonna fly into space?

Only the second part. Also it doesn't even reach redline in last gear anyway and keeps at about 95mph. But that is totally because I'm fat.

Anyone here /mechanic/? I'm trying to resurrect a dead and fucked with bike that's been left in pieces for a while. The engine turns, I think, but it doesn't want to start.

The carbs were empty before I stuck them back on but after I ran some new gas through it green shit came out of one of them but only one. Kept draining it till the gas came out the right color but it still doesn't run.

Then I checked the spark plugs and they were badly fouled, very dark. I replaced them but it still doesn't run.

Ideas? I haven't gaped the plugs yet and I'm looking for things to try before completely taking it apart again to see if the jets are fucked.
>>
Any Australian anons surprised at how simple getting the RE license is. It took me all of two days to go from never ridden a motorcycle before to licensed rider. Got my RE learners on Monday, did my RE course on Tuesday. Overall I've only had like 6 hours of seat time and I'm licensed to ride.

I'm not complaining, just feels like there should be more to do. Especially considering how arduous the process of getting a drivers license is
>>
>>15043629
>Why are some people willing to split lane if it means overtaking cars but get so buttravaged when they get their lane split?
Are you talking about car drivers here or bikers?
>>
>>15043701
Check compression.
Carbs were empty because all the gas dried out, you will need to clean them.
Does spark plug actually spark?
>>
>>15043617
Sadly, I have to agree with this. I learned on my dads Ninja 250 so it's near and dear to my heart, but even as a complete and utter noob I immediately realized that it was sluggish and handled like you were riding in a pool full of jello surrounded by industrial magnets..
>>
>>15043701
So many things could be the problem. It's hard to diagnose without being there with hands on the bike.

I'd suggest taking the bike to a good mechanic and getting him to let you watch over his shoulder as he diagnoses and fixes it.

Or just get a Hayne's / Workshop manual and pull that motherfucker apart, CLA everything and reassemble it.
>>
>>15043701
spark, fuel, compression

it has to be one of those 3

>>
>>15043714
Not sure how to check compression but I'll test the new spark plugs tomorrow after gapping them.

>>15043728
You are definitely right but part of the fun is doing it myself. I got it cheap enough that if things get really hairy I can get it to a garage but I'd like to try myself if possible. The guy I bought it from put on some aftermarket exhaust, drilled holes in the airbox, and said he installed new jets but who knows. It ran when I bought it but ran dirty so I took it apart last year and the parts sat until now.

As the weather got better I got overly excited and reassembled it without opening and checking the carbs out thinking it was enough that I emptied them before storage.

>>15043752
Fuel is definitely getting to the spark plugs but if it's a problem with compression I have no clue how to trouble shoot it.

Test compression. It's a tester that you plug into the spark plug holes

Clean the carbs properly. That gas is fucked. Pic related.

I just did the finger in the spark hole trick and the compression feels strong. I'll buy a plug gapper tomorrow and see if that helps.

I really hope that's the issue, having to gut it back down to the carbs and clean it will be a pain in the ass.

CLEAN your carbs, seriously don't fuck with anything else until they are spotless. It isn't hard and doesn't take that long.

I can take off, take apart, clean, and re-install the BS34s on my shitheap in about a 45 minutes.

Shitty gas HAS gelled in the carbs and is blocking/clogging your jets, you AREN'T getting fuel.
