>The magnitude of diurnal range varies with the season, being lowest in winter when cloudiness is much more prevalent, and greatest in the warmer part of the year. At Boise, for example, the average diurnal range is only 14° F in January, but exceeds 30° F in July through September. Temperatures can range from -60° to 118° F. Agree with the sound part. Kond of agree with te offroad part but I don't plan on doing heavy offroading anyways-maybe a bit of unpaved roads.
For the road part-suits my beginner needs for now- still faster than almost all cars on lights, tall-can see over traffic-easy to ride on commutes. Plus I am pretty tall so it suits me.
Was looking at klr's but they are more offroad oriented and the registration and insurance fees on those are double than the kle so the jew in me decided.
Maybe I fucked up badly thought- we'll see

Basically everything will only work when the engine is running. The lights will likely be powered from the DC current directly from the stator. So the spark and lights will be powered just as the engine turns.

Have the owner give you the run down on the starting procedure that works best for that particular bike. For thumpers you generally want to slowly kick it until you start to feel compression, then bring the kick lever to the top of its stroke and jump on it. Giving it throttle while kicking usually isn't good, but if it has a pumper carb you might want to give it throttle before you kick to get that squirt of gas in the cylinder and prime it.
>>
>>15033078
my 80s shitbike doesn't have a battery too. kickstart only obviously

it sitll has an alternator so when the engine runs power is produced. But it goes directly to anything electric instead of a battery.

>>
>>15033144
no
when you backfire your e-start bike you just turn it off then on, you don't use the starter, so why would you use the kickstart?
>>
>>15033144
For keybangers?
>be rolling in gear with enough momentum to let go of the throttle for a few seconds
>hold the kill switch off and pump the throttle
>turn kill switch back on
>since you are still rolling and in gear it will restart on its own.

You shouldn't even have to touch the starter when doing it, whether e-start or kickstart.

Oh so you just like to look at bikes?
>>
>>15033490
Oh now that you mention ducati I have a funny story that made it's way around locally.

>Guy buys used ducati at local ducati dealer a year ago - advertised accident free
>decides to sell it privately now
>new buyer brings it to mechanic to get it TÜV ready
>turns out the duc was crashed
>a bit more than 1000€ in repairs
>gets mad as fuck at original buyer because he advertised it as accident free
>original buyer checks papers and turns out they hauled the bike 300kms away to get TÜV
>ducati dealer knew about the crash damage no doubt

the dealer has a bad image already but I didn't think they would pull illegal shit on customers.
>>
Why do bikers only be friends with people that own the same bike ?

Riding style usually. Group rides with cruiser is different in cruisers vs sportbikes vs supermoto etc

I'd call my group more a group of hooligans even though the group has sportbike in the name

Just try and fix it if you can. You don't need to worry about cosmetic stuff, as long as you're able to get it running you can keep it until you're on a better financial footing.

Well with 10liters/100km i can't explore unknown and lost places without fearing for an empty tank , my current bike lasts 200km and i got close to the limit without finding a petrol station sometimes...

not to mention it would be pretty annoying to stop every hour to spend 10€...

Mine was about three hours in a car park, lunch break and then and hour or two out on the road. Had never ridden a bike before but car park part was fun, picked most of it up quickly enough. The road part was the most stressful shit I've been through in a long time. I could already drive so I knew how to read the road etc. It was just the fact I wasn't totally comfortable with the bike controls. Not knowing which gear I was in. Stalling about ten times at a roundabout while a lorry gradually crept up behind me.

I'm thinking about buying an used GS for this summer, travel with it and sell it after...is it a good idea ?
>>
>>15033923
...why?
Lots of better, cheaper bikes
>and hardly any BMW rider ever buys used
>>
>>15033923
Not a terrible idea but you'll be buying it when prices are highest and trying to sell it when they're dropping again. That said I don't really believe in the seasonal prices meme. I waited all winter for a bargain and got fuck all.

Make sure you buy it well before you intend to travel so you can make sure it doesn't have any issues.
>>
>>15033936

I was messing around trying to install a USB charger to go with my headlight circuit so when the headlight was on it would charge

Messing around there now my headlight won't work anymore, I checked the fuse and it's still intact, the PASS light still works, but both the low and high beam are dead

What did I do?
