What's the best bike for someone looking to start riding?
I live in the city, don't commute to work, don't have any riding experience, and I'm going to be raped by my insurance company.

My thoughts are leaning towards the CBR300RA, mostly because it's cheap and better on insurance I've heard, but is the lower power noticeable? KTM is too expensive here, and the Yamaha has no used market, though I could bump my budget.

The Contour and Drift have a more aerodynamic shape. Contour is the most user friendly. Drift has bettter features (replaceable battery, has remote, lens can be turned, etc.). I think both have a waterproof case you can buy, but should be water resistant (not proof) on their own. Gopro is the smallest and better suited for a chin mount than the others. Also the Gopro software is arguably better.

I have a 92 Kawasaki Bayou 300, and it's small and light and simple enough to go anywhere bulletproofly. And more relaxing than a dirt bike when you want it to be.

I'm not a farmer, so don't quote me, but I believe they're restricted to non-400 series roads (400 series are our larger highways) and only to transfer equipment to another field or farm, not for commuting. So yes, they're allowed on the road, but only as necessary. Same with ATVs. The plates and insurance are actually for trails which require them, but I don't think you're allowed on the road at all without them. Farm equipment.. Idk if they need plates ever. I'd try cleaning the carbs. If you're a lazy cunt like me and don't feel like pulling them, I suggest this:
>Undo drain plugs to remove fuel from float bowls
>pop off top cover and pull diaphragm out so you can see main jet from top of carb
>Fill float bowls 1/2 carb cleaner
>Put carbs back together
>Prime fuel system again
>Run bike until you're on full gasoline
It'll run like shit for a tiny bit but once that stuff runs through it'll be clean.

Is it ok to just slowly open throttle and gradually push the bike inside as I gain speed or am I doing it wrong?

To clarify, can I just keep pushing the inside handlebars with no worries even if I'm already leaned over or should one just enter faster, flick the bike down and keep that angle?

I don't see anything wrong with slow in fast out.

We're not on the track here, nobody is timing you, I tend to start too slow then accelerate up to comfort as well.

In terms of like, the ultimate fastest way to ride it actually involves being on the brakes almost until the apex, we're not gonna do that on the road though.

Sport bikes on roads, how do you guys do it dbt? Speed gets boring after awhile, especially if you can't let her loose most of the time. I'd rather be somewhat fast and comfortable than fast.

people can argue until they're blue in the face whether my bike counts as a sportbike or not but I've ridden 600's, 750's and 1000's too.

It's worth it for the times you do get to cut loose for me.

clip ons and the sportbike riding position have their own advantages, 1000's are good commuters in my opinion, they're nice and narrow for lane splitting (often have fold in mirrors too) because of the clip ons and you can ride the big juicy waves of torque from those turbine smooth I4's, my commute is not long enough I could ever get sore from it either, at least not at my age.

Good news is we have so many supernakeds and inbetweener bikes like the GSX-S1000F / NInja 1000 that it's not much of a compromise to make anymore if you want to be comfy but still go fast.

especially since you move your head left and right quite often, try lowering the speed overall, or smooth out the parts where you move your head
when you include audio, clean the audio a bit, since the quality is pretty meh, and fade out the music slightly.

Sparkplugs on the front cylinder are black as fuck (look like "Carbon Fouled" on pic related). Sparkplugs on the rear cylinder are a lot cleaner (look almost as clean as "Normal" on pic related).

Neither carb has ever been cleaned in 100k km. Fuel efficiency is terrible. Is it safe to assume they need to be cleaned and have the rubbers replaced?
