I'm running a k760 on the front at the moment, seems good on road and dirt, so when my rear goes ill chuck one on there too. I've heard different things about it though, either:

If you use a cam, remember to run a tether. However, the tether, needs to be strong enough to hold the camera in case the tape dislodges, but weak enough that it will tear when your camera becomes hooked on something hard.

I just have a thin piece of string that attaches it to the wind visor thing in the bottom of the helmet. So it will just pull out with strong enough force, but it was strong enough to retain my camera when it fell off. I was testing a new mounting spot on the chin, but my RF1200 helmet was too curvy to accept it. 50% contact was not good enough.

Depends. Some pros still use 2smokes. IIRC Graham Jarvis uses them. It depends on the application. Higher speed stuff is more 4stroke territory, but slow technical courses are all 2smoke.

4 strokes replaced 2 strokes in general for environmental reasons, the changeover happened when it did just because they finally got 4 stroke bikes good enough to be competitive. The weight and torque differences aren't really inherent, but rather because the rules were set for 450cc 4-strokes in what was then the 250 class and 250cc 4-strokes in the 125 class to have comparable power.
