Tfw nearly got ran off the road last night

>red light about to turn green
>two lanes forms one after lights
>light turns green
>goes past the person that were stopped at the lights
>clearly further ahead of the person by half a car length
>start to merge, they speed up and beep at me
>their front is just barely at my rear quarter
>Was on the edge of the road before until there was more lanes again
>they drive next to me yelling shit

If they were next to me when the lanes merged I would have yielded and let them merge first
>>
>>14975088
People are retarded man. Whenever there's a merge after lights, I always get up to speed as fast as possible so that I can merge first.
>>
>>14974465
Depends on what you want out of the car.

If you want speed you probably should have bought a WRX, simply because you'd have to do brakes and suspension on top of an engine swap in a base model Pretzel to get it all up to the same level of performance.

Fuck I wish I had a dashcam for that one.

Inside, outside and engine bay detail. Will set you back a bit, but will be amazing when done. Especially if they do clear shell coatings. (Shell coatings also make the finish easier to upkeep.)

Other than that first major service?

After those go have fun with it. What do you want to do with it? Skids/drags/trackdays/gymkhanas. Tarmac/dirt/gravel?

If you just want to daily drive it you could look into fuel saving gear.

>>14975459
Just wondering now, is it even normal for a BA MkII to have the power windows operational after 5 minutes of turning the vehicle off? At least I know it's not the lights, the central thing or bluetooth. I'll try to find a voltmeter I can borrow

Dad's electrician reckons it's most likely the alarm, maybe I can just go and get him to check. Shouldn't take too long.
>>
>>14975507
those green/white or whatever indicators never work on batteries t͏bh

sounds like you got some leaking of power from something, like tat other anon said, use a voltmeter to find what is drawing the power
>>
>>14975507
>is it even normal for a BA MkII to have the power windows operational after 5 minutes of turning the vehicle off?

Yeah it's normal for modern cars, It surprised me when I drove my mums 2012 Kia Carnival, took the keys out and pressed the button to go up and it went up. If it's an aftermarket alarm I wouldn't doubt it that they wired it to the battery directly instead of something thats triggered when something is opened.

Hmm let's take a look at these starting grids

Class A[edit]
Class A was for cars which cost less than $1,850. It was made up of Datsun 1000, Ford Cortina, Hillman GT, Morris Mini De Luxe and Toyota Corolla.

Class B[edit]
The $1,851 to $2,250 class was dominated by the Datsun 1600, but also contained Hillman Arrow, Hillman Gazelle and Morris 1100S.

Class C[edit]
The $2,251 to $3,000 class saw a mix of standard versions of the outright contenders, Ford Falcon and Holden Kingswood and Fiat 125 and Morris Cooper S.

Class D[edit]
The $3,001 to $4,500 class featured the outright contenders, Ford Falcon GT and Holden Monaro, but also contained a single Chrysler VE Valiant, Fiat 124 Sport and Studebaker Lark.

Class E[edit]
For cars over $4,500, contained Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV and a single Citroen DS21 Pallas.

Wow, Aussie muscle sure is good when it competes against the shittiest Euro and Jap econoboxes and a French luxury car. Every time they went up against American cars, even in their own racing series in their own country, they got demolished.

Check the springs arent cut, check the oil and see how clean it is, make sure there is coolant (not water) in the overflow, check the rear guards for melted rubber, make sure it wasnt someones skid rig.

Also check that the electronics in the dash actually work, only fuses you will have to replace but can probably get it a lot cheaper if there is a problem.

First of all, the American first generation Falcon only ever had an anemic 260 in terms of V8s anyway. The "Falcon Sprint" (which is the only notable performance US Falcon) that you replied to originally and referred to is a second generation and has nothing to do with our XK-XP Falcons. Idiot.

>I've used socket sets before, Never worked on anything that used shitty imperial sockets. 10, 12, 14, 17, 19mm is all i've ever needed to touch.

What you need is tiny hands like Donald Trump, a magnet stick, extender bars for socket set and no real aversion to huge amounts of PAIN as your hands get cut to shit.

Aside from that, they all need a bigger radiator + two thermo fans or they overheat and blow quicker than a 15y/o with a Brazzers account

How old is the car? There might be a historic loophole. That's how I'm registering the CBR250RR.

I might try and start my BMW tomorrow. I've had a battery a couple weeks but haven't got around to it. If it starts relocating and pulling the front end apart.

Apparently can do what I need to do without taking it apart, but it'd be a lot easier if I can see what I'm actually doing.

I'm still debating on the GTX30 setup but there's a lot to do before that and I'd need to get the chassis checked.

I don't know how long it is for cars. For the CBR (it's a 93) it's old enough I can register it without a trip to regency due to its age.

I imagine it'd be too heavy.

Also need new tyres on the good wheels. Not using the tasteless shit in the photo.
>>
>>14983868
was an OLD hilux, 2wd aswell

>it's old enough I can register it without a trip to regency due to its age.
I'd never heard of that, I thought every old car had to pass Regency to get registered. Has it been registered recently or has the bike been out of reg for years? I know a vehicle can be re-registered after a few months of being unregistered but after years, I think it needs inspection. Or that's what I've heard anyway.

I agree on the engine swap part though since it has me a little concerned. I might go check it out anyway since she lives pretty close to me

I'd rather be a cack-eyed awkward knob than you
For all your perfect teeth and hand jobs
I'd rather be the silently resentful weird one
Than the back-slapped, chest-poking, young gun
For every moment you've had of adolescent bliss
I've spent ten regretting everything I've missed
For every stroke, every goal, every glance and kiss
There were blows, failure, mockery and less
Yet I'd rather be me
You preening dumb tool
You vacuous, confident, ignorant, poor dumb tool
Who wants to be me? No one
You? They sell magazines with how-to guides
People shell out money, jog, get surgery but mainly just dream of the day
They will be more like you
Grass green, never greener, grows over the fence between us
Penis length I am sure is in your favour
Your penis, in fact, is the hero of the this and every other hour
And can access all orifice, stink box, blurter and growler
They didn't break the mould when they made you, mate
That mould was mass produced
Does it grate, that on every corner and every bar, there's you
You have never said one thing completely new
Not thought, one thought not thought before
You Cleo mag, Channel V as seen on TV bore
You school kids' idea of bliss
You teen idol
Package, Construct, Robot, Product, Lackey, Baggage
I'd would rather be me, despite my self-disappointment
I'd would rather be me, because of that disappointment
I'd would rather be me unknown, weak, bent and poor
I'd would rather be me with every mistake and flaw
I'd would rather be me because in the whole universe of us
In the galaxies of people, in the glowing incalculable nimbus
You provide the great system with naught
Whilst from afar, burning, lonely and nearly invisible
I, a star

Can anyone recommend a good shop in Melbourne to get King Springs/Bilsteins fitted to a 120 series Prado? I'm after a struts/springs lift, bout 2"

Could be true for cars, I only know it for bikes. We registered a GPX250 the same way.

>How old is the car? There might be a historic loophole. That's how I'm registering the CBR250RR
How does this work. Can you still get defects for things loud mufflers/no muffler ect?

>>14983912
Yes of course.

Its not an overpriced european taxi. So we dont care.
>>

>How does this work. Can you still get defects for things loud mufflers/no muffler ect?
It's exactly the same as a normal registration you just don't have to do the initial regency check. You can still get defected as usual.

>tfw I can use the distance loophole to clear defects and psuedo-legalise engine swaps without regency checks

E36 uses yellow coloured bulbs inside the clear casing.

Cheap wheels?
>pic related.

probably $600 would be the most i'd want to spend on a set. can you get rims for that much? ebay says yes, also, bob jane has rims for that price but there's two things that im worried about.

Big bro says that cheap wheels are heavier and are more prone to breaking and name brand rims sell for more.

I think name brand rims might sell for more but if i buy $1200 rims and sell them for $800 i would still be better off buying $600 rims and selling them for $300. Also, every dollar i save will go towards tint and touch ups for my new car.

however, cheap rims probably are going to be heavier and more prone to damage but by how much if at all?

>I was refering to the ugly as fuck aftermarket "crystal" ricer indicators
They aren't aftermarket from memory. There were several different styles used on E36s at that time.

I have some LED aftermarket rear lights. Good stuff. I've broken that damn brake light sensor again though.

>And you do know that chrome amber bulbs exist?
Yes. What's your point? I haven't bought bulbs for it. Got plenty around.
