I smoked the bongs before I got my Volcano. Always disliked smoking joints, blunts. I suppose it's cause I don't like the smell/taste of burning herb. First vaporiser I got was the PAX. So that took care of what to do if I feel I need some while away from home for a while.

Then I got my Volcano. I truly get what people mean when they say they don't know how they lived without it. It wasn't like that at first though. When I first bought it, I used it a bit then went back to smoking cones. Nothing is the same as a cone, or so I thought. It took a bit of pressure from my family, but I stopped smoking cones out of the guise I was quitting cannabis... but I was actually using the Volcano.

m8, using the Volcano for that few weeks as my only tool to get high taught me how to use it and also taught me how much I hate weed smoke. It is entirely possible to get a high just like smoking a cone.

Just pack the minimum amount into the filling chamber, just enough so you can't see through it after it's packed down. Like maybe 1 mm of herb in the chamber. Then, crank it to 9. Turn it all the way up. When it's up to temp, fill up the balloon. The vapour will be so deliciously thick. Though it takes a _little_ bit longer than smoking a cone, it's all there - in one balloon. The effect is basically the same as smoking a cone. It's pretty much the same amount.

Usually I just pack a bit more in and run it at 6, 7 and then 9. Three balloons, high as fuck, no smoke. If it starts to burn because I had the temp too high for too long, I start to cough a bit - it's unpleasant.

I now don't smoke at home. Only if I'm going to a party do I get a bong and take it with me to have cones. Bit too much hassle transporting the Volcano around and I don't want it to get damaged. For a few days after punching cones I can see gunk come out of my lungs when I cough it up. They say that smoking cannabis doesn't paralyse the cilia in your lungs but from my experience, when I was smoking everyday, it did.

When I first stopped smoking that black shit came out of my lungs for like a month afterwards. I can report on this because I do no smoke cigarettes, which definitely paralyse the cilia. I quit nicotine like 2 years ago

I personally think the oven is way too big on the PAX. I use a bent up pipe filter to take up half the space in the oven and only pack it halfway.

The Volcano is a marvel of engineering though. It keeps so clean and only needs cleaning like every few weeks. And this is with daily use.

Nice trick with the pipe filter. If I am going for a half oven I will pack it then fill in the rest with twigs. The twigs will come out green as long as I don't smoke the herb down to charcoal.
