You have 10 second to explain why you dont own a car.
But I do own a car. Well, uh.. at least 3/4 of one.
because im a robot and have no job
>>14434418
I wonder would it be a viable option to get an electric motorcycle or scooter for basic in-city travelling.

Checked, gtfo OP.

>>14434508
Pretty much this, as wel as lolyurop.
Because I own an SUV.
Cars are for bitches.
>>14434418
Currently too poor to own the one I want: a RAV 4 or a CR-V. It gets the work done without sacrificing mpg, so I save money in my wallet.
>>14435815
Forgot to add, but a used '90s/early '00s CR-V or RAV 4 in particular.
>>14435765
Oh, I'm not Polish, I'm from Finland. I just happen to be a big fan of Piotr Ponczak and I own an E36 Cumpact too. As for the stickers, look at Japanese drift cars from the 90s/early 2000s, they have similar ones.
>>14434418
i own 2
a truck
and a car
both 4cyl
Because cars can't get me here.
Why would I do that when I could just drive my father's?
>>14434418
I have 2 cars m8 whats it to you?
>>14434418
Does paying off a car count as owing one?
>>14435796
>cars are for bitches
literally 90% of SUV drivers are womyn
>>14435932
If its in your name and you drive and pay for it then yes, in my eyes you sir have a car
>>14434485
I crashed into a puddle and sucked up some water....
Because I want a real car, rwd and not old and gay like a Miata but everything is overpriced and I'm not a trust fund baby like you guys.
because I rather take the bus and drivetrain post.

My work is 10 minutes on foot
My city has good and cheap public transport
I dont have to haul shit or other people, just me
>>14435832
I regret I even asked
I used to have a 95 Dodge Caravan called the Pussywagon. It was in turquoise and it was a pile of shit but I loved it.
I don't have it anymore because my dad stole it, then totaled it.
I'm thinking about getting a pre-2008 Impala.
>>14434418
because I haven't found the right one yet.

Nah, not really. The fat bastard never once maintained his Rodeo. He thinks adding some new oil once in a while counts as regular maintenance. So, of course, it goes plbprlprt. So he takes my van. Nothing I could do about it since he was paying for it's insurance at the time (I was NEET for a couple of years out of high school). He let his fucking Izuzu sit and it's tires rotted. And lo, he never took care of my van. Only threw some oil in there occasionally. It really needed some work on it because it's throttle response was falling off pretty badly, but nope. Dad thought that was fine. So, another month, and it throws a rod. Destroyed the entire block, busts the radiator and shattered the steering column, all in one go. THEN he decided to fix his Rodeo.
>>14436460
That would suck, oil changes are easy and cheap same with eveything else to service a car really dont see why you wouldnt do it saves hassles down the road, good luck finding a car mate
I don't have any legs.
>>14436512
Probably just going to get an Impala, maybe an 04 or 05. I live in Alabama and the things are everywhere so keeping it serviced shouldn't be hard. I really like cars but I don't know a whole hell of a lot about them. As fun as stick is, I'll be getting an automatic as my daily. Do you know if aftermarket fuel and air filters would have any noticeable effect on an auto Impala's power or efficiency?
>>14434562
Yes but a cbr500r is at the moment better in every way
>>14436536
I wouldnt have a clue, i live in new zealand so the car scenes are very different, the only thing id say is manual would be more fun but i understand owning an auto as a dd makes things easier
>>14436674
Yeah, I'm a pretty heavy dude myself and doing the clutch for my racing sims isn't a huge deal, but dealing with it every day like that wouldn't do me any favors I don't think. I'm losing weight, so that might change in the future, fortunately.
>>14436686
Well thats good, im slightly larger then average aswell, whats your budget for your next car? I always thought that you could pick up murrican cars cheap, v8 rwd for cheap would be awesome
>DUI
too easy
>>14436711
I don't make enough right now to have a budget. I'm a freelance VA and while I make enough to live a decently comfortable life with my mom and grumpy ass grandad (who has a very well taken care of Buick LeSabre that is fun as hell to drive), I don't make enough to buy a car. I've been making more and more over time, so that also might change pretty soon. I'm thinking around 4k-6k is a good price for a used car.
because i only make minimum wage and couldnt afford to keep it on the road
>>14436729
For that price in nz i could find a pretty nice car, my gc8 was 2700, last time i spent 6k on a car it was a r33 skyline, do you live near snow? Other then the impala what else you lookin for? pic related, gc8 with my 100$ wheels and tyres
Moved to NYC, sold my Z4 for about 6k in the hole. I cry every time.

Naw, friendo. Alabama is in the US Deep South. The state falls the fuck apart when a single snowflake falls.
The Impala is my number one sensible choice, but I've always wanted a 99 Impreza, but that would cost more to maintenance in a year than it would to buy another used car. I might pick up an Impreza as a racer in the future, though. BMWs down here can be found for pretty decent prices, so that might be an option. It'd really be down to whatever model is available at the best price though.
If I can get enough money (but not enough to get a BMW) I might get a newer Ford Taurus. I fucking love the design.
This all depends on how much dosh I can get though.
I'm really hoping I can get an agent soon so I can start getting big contracts regularly.
>>14435981
>buying new in 2016
If you aint got the cash for the car, you sure as hell wont have the cash for the upkeep. Get an old BMW and drive it until it falls apart
>>14434418
>own 3 cars
>no explanation why
muhfuggin reezuns n sheeit
>>14436796
Yea i know alabamas in the us lol, the maintenance on a subaru aint that bad at all, i recently did every filter, all the oils, dif, engine, gearbox, and coolant, sparkplugs and leads, flushed the clutch fluid, brake fluid, did the brakes, basically did a complete srevice cost 240nzd, 160 usd, got a quote for right front drive shaft with cvs, i have split cv boots only 80$, around 50usd its pretty cheap and im using good parts and oil, ive never owned a bmw but driven a few i like them, but prefer my turbo japas
>>14434418
damn that car must be pretty fast in reverse
>>14436796
My oil changes cost 35 nzd with 10/40 full synthetic and filter, fuel filter is 7$, air filter is 12$ i thought it would cost more for maintenance but its relatively cheap, you should get quotes for everything for a service on a 98 wrx sti would be interesting to see the price difference
>>14436879
Part of the issue is how bloody rare Subarus are in Alabama. I've heard that there are less than 10,000 in the entire state, compared to the literal millions of Fords/Chevys. If something goes, I would have to order the part myself, and I'm not sure how many mechanics down here are familiar with the boxer engine.
>>14436898
Fair enough, from what other anons say subarus are way over priced in the states, v8s are way overpriced in new zealand but subarus are cheap because everyone is afraid of the cam belts and they are literaly everywhere, but american cars are pretty rare in nz, theres lots of old ones but there 60k + for shit condition ones
>>14434418
Currently job hunting.
Insurance companies are refusing to use lube on anything worth driving.
>>14434418
because im 6 yrs yung
cuz ontario insurance is bullshit
I'm military and I live in the dorms; my office is literally a five minute walk.
I'm getting one in a month, though. First time buyer, have a solid down payment, but no credit to my name because I hate getting into debt. I'm very skittish about it.
I own 3 of them but I always break the motors because they are high K shitboxs that I thrash till death and have no money to fix.
>under 25 male
also with the fact no one will explain how insurance/buying a car works because my parents dont want me to own a car
Because I have trucks. Lots of trucks
Find it kinda sad some people here who don't have a car are European.
Yet the ones I have the most conflicting opinions with are Europeans, about cars.
>>14439956
>People think like this in the Internet age
>>14440211
its really hard to find info because its province specific and you end up needing to call everywhere anyways for quotes. By the time you get a quote the car is sold or its shit when you do see it in person and buying it first then getting destroyed on insurance seems stupid
>>14435796
What kind of suv and please be a Nissan
because i need 384 dollars for my first car and im only halfway there
>>14434418
Because i own two motorcycles and I live in a place with a perfect riding purpose climate ten months a year.
